Nice ruins to visit. There's a road just before or after Chateau Appony depending on which way you go past, which will lead you up towards the footpaths to the Hrad. Great views of the valley when you get up there too.

GREAT RECONSTRUCTION WORK. Big ruins with a big advance in reconstruction work. A 30 minute hike through the forest. All castle ruins should be preserved. More information about the castle would be appreciated.

Oponice castle is a very nice ruin in the Tribeč mountains. Easy hike with beautiful views. Some sections of the castle are more difficult to reach or slightly dangerous. Definitely worth visiting!

Love this place. Always happy to visit. Nice walk through the forest not really difficult to get up to the ruins. Accessible for families with kids.

Located in the village of Oponice,easy hike,not too steep,not too long.It is a ruin but worth visiting.The view from the top is great .I recommend to combine this trip with visiting the famous Oponice library inside of the Oponice chateau located not far away or the Oponice museum.The Oponice chateau has a nice park,a cafe and one can actually get room and wellness services there as well.
