This food is delicious. No matter what I have ordered it has been amazing. The menu is kind of a vegan Southern style menu. You can pair any entree with any side or sides. I prefer the max and cheese, hands down the best vegan mac I have ever had. My friends love the vegan crab cakes, my go to is the house made black bean burger (sounds simple but is seasoned so well). The staff are kind and the atmosphere of the restaurant is great.

I’m not a vegan but I really love this franchise! The food, customer service, and restaurant’s cleanliness is above and beyond. The employees are very nice and give good size portions 😁. This franchise has a LOT of potential and I hope they grow from here.

My first time ever eating vegan food, and I must say it was delicious. I had the beef and broccoli with cabbage and yams. Everthing was seasoned well and the potion sizes were great. I highly recommend this place. They also have vegan desserts.

First time and definitely enjoyed it. Will be back to try the rest of the menu.. Cabbage was a little spicy

Hello Hunny Bees 🌻🐝👑💛💕 It's your girl Hunny with a review of another local small business. I was so excited when my developers said they were Vegan! I'm like bet everyone has been ravin about NuVegan leh we go!! We get there the parking is good. The restaurant is so Dope the writing is on the wall. So it was 4 of us. I write our order down 3 crab cakes dinners and 1 drummies dinner. The person taking the order was confused everyone helping her was confused it was as if they did not know how to explain their menu. They kept asking me for my order although they had what I wrote down and they had my order they wrote down themselves 😔. It was frustrating. We finally get our food I forgot to take a picture because I was so hungry, but that's not the kicker the crab cakes were not good. The kale was huge not cut down and had no taste. I couldn't believe it. I tried Michelle's Jerk drummies and they were good. But none of us like the crab cakes, the macaroni salad or the garlic spinach. If I was to go back it would probably be for the drummies. I was really disappointed 😞😭. The music was perfect the tables were clean the atmosphere is a whole Vibe. Their uniforms were clean. The other food looked good. I wish I could have given a better review. I'm so sad guys.

The food is amazing and the people are great! I wrote this review 5 years ago and I’m just adding to it today. So, we still come here and the food hasn’t changed at all. Get the drummies. They are the best chicken wing substitute I’ve ever had.

The visuals and the aesthetic of the restaurant aren’t the best but the workers are friendly, and the food tastes good. We ordered the crabcake and mac & cheese, which visually did not look very appealing but somehow the crabcake tasted exactly like crab, and the mac & cheese was delicious. The prices are pretty fair too, we definitely recommend this place for anyone wanting to try vegan food or for vegan people, but definitely don’t expect anything too fancy

It was overpriced and not good. This is the driest vegan lasagna I've ever had in my life. It's burned, and there is no sauce. Not a drop. I used to enjoy their food so much but its gone down hill for some reason.

I like NuVegan cafe. I feel sorry for the two women that always look like they are tired and overworked. The kale had way too much garlic in it. The lasagna was burnt and not fresh. The yams could have been better if it didn’t have all that yam hair in it. The sub had no flavor. The Mac and cheese is nothing but a bunch of tofu. Over all I think that the food is over priced for it not to be perfect. The crab cakes were ok.

nuvegan is always amazing. one of my favorite vegan restaurants in the DMV. the makes are a must. they have the best vegan mac and cheese around. you can't go wrong really.

*DISCLAIMER* I am not a vegan by a long shot. My curiosity brought me into this place. I attempted to try the Chick’n Drummettes , Mac & cheese & Sweet Potatoes. The chicken is solid for it not to be actual chicken. The Mac & cheese was decent(I’m not used to vegan cheese). Both the chicken and Mac, you have to acquire a taste for it. The sweet potatoes satisfied my taste buds since there were no vegan modifications. The service was good and paired with a clean environment. Follow my IG @blackdollar007

After spending nearly six years in this area, this was my first time here and I will definitely be coming back! I'm not a vegan but the food was delicious! I'd describe it as vegan meets soul food. I recommend the black bean burger and the chicken sandwich.

One of the best vegan restaurants!!! Their food is to die for, and they serve large portions. I'm glad I had leftovers the next day. The leftovers were just as good! I will definitely be back!

NuVegan never disappoints! I am here pretty frequently and the food and service are routinely 5 stars. The music is louder than expected for a restaurant and can be a lot when ordering and dining in with others/trying to talk over the music. But this certainly doesn't take away from the deliciousness that is NuVegan.

Decent vegan food with a large selection of sides. The "chicken" sandwich was exactly what I was hoping and it was neat that I could pick out different flavors. My only negatives were that the floor was sticky and it was incredibly warm inside.

I recently returned after having relocated and I must say I along with the 5 longtime repetitive customer friends/family members I ordered for/with were all equally disappointed. The recipe of the mac and cheese has most definately been changed and it is very noticeable. It is not a taste or positive change. The crabcakes we ordered were cooked in old grease despite the fact that we arrived at the restaurant close to opening time. The cabbage should either be called spicey cabbage on the menu or the chef needs to be reminded to lay WAAAAY off the pepper because that's all we tasted and the portion sizes are no longer what they once were. The staff were awesome, professional and very attentive. This will go a long way and was appreciated. If there is new management or corners are now being cut to save money...please do not fix things that are not broken. This trip was one that was highly disappointing. We traveled nearly 6 hours and Nu Vegan was a stop that we were looking forward to. I really wanted to write a better review however, an honest one is more important.

Lady there had An attitude and didn’t follow directions very well. The food is very inconsistent. One day it’s good and next it’s not. I won’t be coming back. They to damn expensive to be giving people mid quality food. I suggest “land of kush” in Baltimore food is way better and good customer service.

I loved this place but so many things have changed; price and portion. They spoiled me, what can I say. What has happened is I have been learning how to recreate those dishes I love, a work in progress, so I still slip in from time to time. I think Georgia Ave is better.

I waited over 30 minutes for my food. I only got it after explicitly asking for it. The worker at the front kept confusing my order with the person who ordered before me. Food itself was low quality. I ate about three or four bites cant eat this….. mac was too salty and the greens were under-salted and lacking in seasoning. They used the same cheese for my entree and they did in the mac so they tasted exactly the same. I’ve loved this place for years but I will no longer be returning.

I’m reading the reviews for this location about excellent customer service but unfortunately, that was not my experience a few weeks ago. Disclaimer, I have gone to the location numerous times and never had any problems with the food or the service. I get it, you close at 8pm. I walked in at 7:50, the doors were still open, I thought, cool I made it. There was a large group preparing to leave. I approached the counter, checked out the food that was still on the buffet; watched the young lady cleaning the grill, who looked at me several times, but never addressed me. Finally I approached a worker who looked like her was locking the doors, and he tells me they were closed. This was not good customer service at all. I can’t understand why the young lady at the grill never informed me that they were closed, and I waited for at least 15 minutes. Please be consistent! I will probably return, because the food is good, but really am turned off when I’m a paying customer, supporting your establishment and service sucks!!

I love their food. Flavorful and so easy to order whatever you want from their buffet. My favorites are the vegan chicken drummies, the curried yuba cold salad, and I always get a side of collards or garlic kale. All of their tofu options are insanely good. They really know what they're doing, so dang delicious!!! Nice atmosphere. My husband likes to get the sandwiches too.

Overpriced. Quality of product has gone down tremendously. Waffle not cooked. Dry sausage and blueberry sauce on chicken that I didn’t ask for. For $24 laughable

Been wanting to try this place so we ordered the chicken sandwich which was my favorite. The cheesesteak was okay, but it definitely doesn’t taste like a cheesesteak. The fish sandwich was interesting, I think they use eggplant. I wish the fries would’ve cooked longer, some crisp would be nice. I found the Mac and cheese to be pretty dry. Would definitely recommend getting the chicken sandwich it’s really good and big portion.

I’ve been wanting to try it for a while. The drummettes were yummy and had the texture of chicken. Collard greens were really good and mac & cheese was decent. I would have preferred a creamier texture for mac & cheese but they were tasty. I didn’t take a picture of greens in separate container but they gave good portions. I’ll be back to try more!

Atmosphere is dead. The men working in this establishment are very rude and cliquey. They were standing around whispering to each other looking at me and saw me walk up to the register then to proceeded to continue yapping their unmasked gums. The nice Latina lady is the only one who helped me and she was getting ready to leave. Overall the wings were good but customer service is trash and needs training,seriously. 😪
