The ambience of this restaurant is perfect for enjoying a warm bowl of soup or eating a sandwich. The tables are painted beautifully and are each unique to a different theme. There is upstairs seating in a sort of cozy little corner. I tried both the Maryland Crab soup and the sweet potato and maple syrup soups. Both were great and full of flavor. I wanted to try the sweet potato and maple because I was curious if it would satisfy as a meal time soup, and it definitely did! I thought it would be overly sweet, but it was just the right amount of sweet and savory. My photos aren’t the best, but I’ll definitely go back and update my photos!

This place always has delicious soups and sandwiches! It’s definitely a hole-in-the-wall kind of nugget in Baltimore, but I’ve never come here and not liked what I got. They even have frozen soups if you’d like to purchase them and heat for later :)

Just ate here (portobello sandwich) for the first time after many word of mouth suggestions of awesomeness. I can say I was super impressed with the taste and preparation. Staff was special. You know when a business is hyper genuine, and they love what they do? That is right here. Yep, it's a Baltimore gem :) Come and eat something!

Whenever I’m in the area I like to go around the town and frolic about. I always see this spot and today was the day I decided to try it. I was so excited but then I walked in and was blasted with a smell of rotten tomatoes and a$$ (excuse my language). This however was not the enough to ditter me (my gut and I have to have a talk). The man at the register was sorta nice, I won’t blame him for that, he could have had a long day. Our interaction was mediocre, my wait was minimal and he handed me my food and we did the whole bye have a good day thing. I waited till I got home to try my food and it was even still hot to the tongue. The soup was good until I look closer at the cap and see this multi-legged guy here. Will not be going back. That just ruined it for me. Disgusted…woa…you was right! “Que Piano”

This is the best sandwich shop I’ve been to in the state! I got the French onion soup with the roasted turkey sandwich and it was incredible! The sandwich had a beautiful rosemary Mayo. The soup was divine. My friends got the cream of crab soup which was also delicious. I’m looking forward to trying everything on the menu

Don't be fooled by the small space, this place has big taste. Great soup and sandwich spot! Had the turnip, potato, and dill soup with the Cuban sandwich. Delicious, fast service, very reasonably priced, $12ish for a soup/sandwich combo, courteous staff.

I would give this place no stars if I could. I called to try to place an order and spend MY MONEY at this establishment and the I called to ask if they had chicken noodle soup. This RUDE MANA PICKS UP and says “check the site to see what soups we have” and proceeded to hang up on me. RUDE RUDE RUDE don’t waste your time or money

My go to for hot vegetarian soup in cold Baltimore winters... flavorful and fast. Check the site for the daily soups; I'm a pint connoisseur. Red lentil is great and smooth; split pea was amazing! Combination is a great option - sandwich and a bowl of soup. both the bahn mi and the roasted mushroom sandwiches are delicious!

Such a cute shop and friendly atmosphere. I met the owner a year or so ago and stopped by to check out the shop. I quickly fell in love, and I’m not alone! Everyone at my work loves coming here for their lunch break! The menu changes and there’s a good variety of soups and sandwiches. I typically get a combo soup/sand but love to grab just a pint of soup on some occasions and there is a “pint club”! Definitely a great, local place to check out in Baltimore.

How have I lived in this area 11+ years and never once been to Soups On? Went with my best friend a couple weeks ago being that we try to sample different restaurants at least once up to twice per month. The main reason I was interested in this establishment was the French Onion Soup. Parking was very convenient. When you reach Maryland Ave and Preston Street. Make a left and there is a large public parking lot. The rates were very affordable, $2 per hour. Cash or card accepted which is a rarity for paid parking in Baltimore City. The walk back to Soups On is very short, probably less than the length of an entire city block. Inside the atmosphere is very rustic. There's a few stairs one must maneuver so if you have mobility issues please be sure to bring a friend or ask someone for assistance. There's a window at top of stairs where you place your order. The menu changes daily and is listed on a chalkboard next to the window. The offerings are soup and sandwiches. Beverages are in a upright cooler where you can choose your own, Together we ordered 1 cream of seafood soup, 1 French Onion Soup and a cuban sandwich cut in half so we could share as appetizer. The price was extremely affordable. Along with our 2 beverages the total check was around $22!! There are 3 sizes of soup, small, medium and large. We both opted for medium size. There's a ultra quaint sitting area to the front of the establishment which has large windows facing Preston Street. There is also additional tables and seating up above that by use of a long set of stairs. The food was absolutely delicious. The sandwich was perfect and the bread was delicious. Both of our Soups exceeded our expectations, Very fresh and tasty! Even the bathroom was awesome. Super rustic and spotlessly clean!!! We plan to return again because we liked everything about the experience very much.

I love this place and often recommend it as a place to pick up lunch or meet for work lunches / lunches with friends. Great variety and options for different diets. Soup, salad, and sandwiches can't go wrong. I love the house salad and get it every time I go. The tables are beautifully painted in all different ways. Space is a bit tight for seating but I like that because it feels homey and welcoming to me. Lots of stairs to get in, out, and around so not accessible in that way.

Terrible customer service. I was ignored when I walked in to pick up my order. The customer who came in behind me was greeted and given his order. I’m a black woman. Customer and cashier were both white men. I will never come here or recommend this place again. I called to cancel my order and they ignored my call. I’m sure they recognized the number.

In town for work. Went to Soup's on with a group of six coworkers. Cute little place. Food looked and smelled great. The gentleman working the counter asked if we had ordered ahead, which we had not. With a smirk on his face he kept saying we should have ordered ahead, and wouldn't take our order. I mentioned to a coworker that maybe we should go someplace else, to which the gentleman responded that he didn't care if we left. So we left. I hope that gentlemen was the owner because I would be very angry that was my employee. I prefer to eat and shop at small businesses. It appears that Soup's On is doing so well that they didn't need our business.

I really enjoyed going to this spot. It has character and charm. The food was tasty and the staff who i think is the owner is funny and helpful. My only issue was they were out of turkey but I think it's a national shortage so not their fault however it limited my options.

Honestly the best sandwich I ever had. I got the Portabella mushroom my husband got the eggplant with goat cheese. They were both soooooo good. We did get the chickpea soup and that was just okay. We also got the seafood soup it was great. Service was quick friendly and fast.

I’ve been a fan of Soup’s On since they opened back in 2008. They never disappoint. A rotating menu of soups offers a variety of different options daily, plus a handful of sandwiches. In 14 years I’ve yet to hit a dud. Fresh ingredients, creative combinations—all delicious and satisfying. My wife has a dairy allergy and she always has multiple options to choose from. You can salt each soup to your liking, which is another excellent touch. Service is fast. The staff is hard-working and efficient; the owners are devoted to their craft and incredibly friendly (come more than a few times and they’ll probably remember your name). A longtime Baltimore gem. Not to be missed!

everything is fantastic, good prices and friendly staff. Soups and sandwiches both are some of the best you'll find.

excellent soup, excellent prices. Owner is very personable. (Those who complain he is rude on phone...thats just how he talks, quick paced, short to the point, and with good reason...the place is over-run at lunch, especially when UB has students) Soup is made more to the lowest common denominator when it comes to salt, so that it can be added per the customers taste, and the owner will tell you when serving your order, which need salt, which doesn't. This place has been my go-to for lunch when I am at work, and I see no sign of it changing...when you go, get the french onion, then get another as well, just to experience the different soups he makes.

This place got me through medical training. How is it so good and so cheap? Love the lunch crowd real mix of downtown lawyers and students. Food is always super fresh and homemade. Sandwhiches are top-notch too. I love the french onion, chowders, and crab ones.

A precious Baltimore gem! Any day is drastically improved by a visit to Soups On!. The daily selection of soups vary to keep things exciting and the flavors never cease to impress. Great selection of Vegan and Vegetarian options, though we could always use more. The Tofu Ban Mi is extraordinary: crispy tofu, fresh cucumbers and some seriously delicious sauce. Staff is friendly and welcoming and clearly very accustomed to return customers. Service is quick and ordering is simple. Prices are amazing! Delicious food for fair prices; very accessible. And how could I neglect to mention the atmosphere! The small cozy space is perfect for enjoying a delicious cup of soup with a friend or a lover. If you haven't been to Soups On you are definitely missing out. Stop by for a quick bite and prepare to be changed forever.
