Sunset Pond

Tourist attraction Park

👍 Still one of my favorite places to run, but it lacks shade on the trail when sun is high due to distance of trees from trail. Trail is in good repair. Playground has a small variety of items but no shade in the play area. One out-house is available for a bathroom. People often mention walk, pond, path, nice, beautiful, walking, park, Nice, trail, Great,

It is a nice walking path. There are houses on one side and a pond on the other. It takes about 35 minutes to walk around the entire pond. There are gazebos and benches scattered around the path. There is a playground for the children. There is a grill as well. The only bathroom I saw was a porter- potty. There is not much shade on this path.

Good 1.6 mile loop with a couple slight hills. Surface is fairly good but sections have root damage with cracks that go bump when you run your tires over them. Some shade some sun, wildflowers and rest benches and pergolas. Go take a few laps.

Best place to come for a peaceful walk... Go skateboarding, rollerblading, longboarding, ride any type of bicycle around the pond.. Have some Fun and go around more than a few times..enjoy the different type of ducks and birds. Also a Hidden spot for Bass and baby pikes for fishing... hidden gem in Burnsville.

Such a beautiful and tranquil place. Enjoy coming here for the walk around the pond. It’s well maintained and clean. The asphalt path is in great shape. Lots of birds enjoying the water and vegetation.

Lovely spot for a nature walk. Plenty of wildlife, too, especially birds. Nice, friendly people that usually say "good morning," when I say hello to the other walkers on the trail. Hard to believe it's in the heart of a metro area! At least when you cant see the one big building nearby distantly visible. Walk here a few times every week.

First time here and I'm very happy with it. They have a park and walking grounds. The paths have arrows on them for good social distancing! And a lot of good hammocking trees with mowed grass! 10/10 would recommend

Great pond for walking, biking and rollerblading. You will see a wide variety of birds. There are a lot of beautiful butterflies and a lot of milkweed where you can see monarch caterpillars.

It's a nice beautiful park with a nice play ground for the kids to play at for sure. The pond is beautiful and has really nice green lush sceneries. I gave it a 3 stars because the trash cans was over flowing w/garbage and it was all over the sidewalk, also it has a super small parking lot that you really have to make a sharp turn in, didn't like that. Other than that it was a nice hidden little gem.

Paved walking path the entire way around the pond. There are houses along the path most of the way — so for those wanting to escape into nature, this likely isn’t the path for you. However with houses so close I felt very safe walking the path alone as it was getting semi-dark outside. There is a parking lot, map of the path at the entrance, and a playground. I even noticed a few folks with fishing poles along a bridge near the entrance.

Nice park for a walk with lots scenic views. Paved path allows for skating, biking, and walking. Lots of benches for rest and enjoying the views. Small pavilions are dotted around the pond with a picnic table inside. My fav has been the one next to the pond.

Big pond to walk around with a variety of greenery. Some wild flowers some trees. With a handful of viewing areas in gazebos too.

Really nice bike Trail 2.1 miles around the park with plenty of benches stretching the trail along with couple of gazeebos with benches to rest in. Kids park on the east side of the pond parallel to burnsville park way.

I'm from out of town, took my granddaughter to volleyball camp and walked around this adorable pond several times. Nice asphalt trail, about 1.75 miles all the way around. Don't miss the forest loop about halfway.

Great place to catch the sunset. It has plenty of parking, a nice playground, a small gazebo, and trails circling the pond. Note: I release all photos to the public domain.

It's just a large pond with a nice walking trail around it. Lately I see more and more bikers that like to pretend they're on a race track or something zooming past you yelling at you so be ready for that. We walk our dogs there often. It's probably like a 30-45 minute leisurely walk if your not in a hurry to win the race lol. Also you're supposed to walk around the pind counterclockwise or to your right but you know theres always those people... some people's kids I tell you. Nice play area for the kiddos and a few benches to take a rest along the path. It's pretty nice for a quick walk in the morning.

A beautiful setting for those looking for a longer walk or run on the loop trail around the pond. Good for spotting birds as well... I saw a great blue heron lurking in the middle of the pond against a tree, too far to take a reliable picture of sadly. The small picnic area and playground near the parking area will satisfy those seeking other activities than the trails. All-in-all another well-maintained and attractive Burnsville park.

An excellent little pond nestled in the back of the suburbs. Has a path all the way around the pond that is very relaxing and a playground to boot for the kiddos to play at while you enjoy the landscape. Also of note is there is a lot of benches/gazebos scattered around the lake where you can enjoy a nice lunch or the wildlife. (Teeming with all sorts of species of birds)

Close to home, this beautiful pond has a great walking /riding path around the pond. Birds, gazebos and the path has 'one way' walk signs.

Great place to eat our fast food overlooking the lake. We put our folding chairs away and walked the trail. Watching the goslings was fun. Perfect

Great playground! Areas for all ages. They have a handicap swing but no handicap access to it. A few swings and baby swing. The big slides are a bit fast so watch your tiniest ones. Take your kids for a walk before playing on the playground or they may be too tired to walk or sit I the stroller. It's a wonderful walk with a great view at the other end of the lake.

It's path has been marked off as a one-way around the pond. They've kept it pretty well mowed and all of the little bench areas to the dock area have been kept pretty clean. There's still a lot of people that go here every day weather it's jogging, walking, or biking, it's not too busy on the path.
