The
Roman
ruins
at
Ulpiana
are
interesting
from
a
historical
perspective
and
definitely
worth
a
visit,
but
visually
and
size-wise,
not
that
exciting.
The
site
includes
two
churches
(one
that
has
an
elaborate
baptismal
font),
some
city
walls,
and
a
small
necropolis
with
a
well,
three
sarcophagi,
and
one
headstone.
It
will
not
take
you
long
to
go
through
the
whole
site,
and
if
it's
a
hot
day,
you
won't
want
to
stay
long
anyway,
as
there
is
no
shade
and
it
can
be
blazingly
hot.
My
understanding
is
that
beneath
the
gravel
that
covers
the
floors
of
the
ruins
are
some
beautiful
stone
mosaics,
which
will
be
uncovered
some
day
when
the
mosaics
can
be
properly
protected.
That's
great,
but
for
now,
it
makes
the
site
a
tad
boring
(though
I
went
once
with
a
guide,
which
made
it
much
more
interesting
than
going
on
my
own
just
reading
the
small,
fairly
uninformative
plaques).
Worth
seeing,
but
I
suggest
pairing
with
something
else
like
dinner
at
Etno
Kuca
or
seeing
the
monastery
in
Gracanica
or
both.
This
should
not
take
you
more
than
30
minutes,
depending
on
how
slowly
you
amble.
Also
note:
don't
take
a
stroller.
You
will
not
be
able
to
push
it
on
the
thickly
laid
gravel
paths.
Mine
is
fairly
robust,
with
big
wheels,
but
it
could
not
traverse
the
paths.
