The Cayman islands national museum is a wonderful place to spend about an hour. You learn all about the history of the islands. Plenty to see and plenty of history to share. The video is great. Make sure you stay to the end to hear the kids singing. Clean restroom. I would strongly recommend if you have an interest in the island besides just warm weather and drinks.

Very interesting 45 minutes or so devoted to Cayman Islands history. Very friendly and helpful staff. Several animatronic displays were fun and informative. Caution though, it is not handicapped accessible. Ok to first floor but my wife missed the whole upstairs displays. Still a must see for first time visitors or history buffs.

Very nice little museum! We've been to the Caymans twice and I really enjoyed getting to know more about the islands' history and people. It focuses on Grand Cayman, briefly touching on the other two islands. There's a new animatronic in one upstairs room that is impressive. One room has rotating local art. The maps say there's a children's room, but it was a rotating feature on an important local figure when we visited. Still, we had children ranging in age from 7-18, and they all enjoyed it and were able to learn a lot. Don't skip the movie at the beginning!

We like going to museums wherever we can find them, so the location near the cruise port was very helpful. After entering through the gift shop, we saw the introductory multimedia video presentation, which was very well done. The downstairs level had two rooms, one of which is the Old Gaol: an active archaeological site. The other room is a nice natural history section, which covers the geology, flora, fauna, and marine life of the Cayman Islands. Upstairs, there is an exhibit on the human history of the Cayman Islands, an art exhibit, an exhibit on the creation of the Cayman Islands coat of arms, and a featured exhibit on Annie Huldah Bodden, a noteworthy lawyer and civil servant. It's definitely worth the short walk from the cruise port. Be aware that the gift shop prices are in Cayman dollars, but they have a good selection and accept credit cards.

An excellent place to learn about the history and culture of the Cayman Islands. The place is set in the middle of Georgetown in the oldest building on the island. If you are come ng in through Cruise ship, you cannot miss it. I mean, you can if you want but I would highly recommend this. You will need about 45mins to tour this place, obviously you can spend more time if you want.

Little bit of history in downtown Grand Cayman. Original boat built ceiling like the old ships built on island. Great history of the Cayman Islands & great map of the Caribbean Sea.

I like to educate myself and my kids on every trip. This is an old and interesting building. They showed a short video on the history and culture of the three islands. Walked through the building in less than an hour. Would highly advise visiting.

Very interesting place. There are good displays about the history of the island and building that is now the museum. Nice little gift shop also and the staff were very friendly and have good knowledge of the area. If you need a break and want to cool off this is nice stop from all the shopping!

I learned quite a bit about Cayman Islands. Well worth a stop before getting drunk or buying baubles. Just joking. Most interesting was how they made rope on the island. Really impressed with how kind they the Caymanians are today.

This was a really neat little museum showing the history of Georgetown and it's people. There's a neat little theater style show in the beginning and then you get to explore the museum freely it's not very big which is good it doesn't take all day to get through it was only eight dollars a person to get in so as well worth doing I recommend that you stop here just to get an idea of the place that you're visiting.

Cute location in the Cayman Islands. It’s not the largest but you’re on vacation. You should know the history of where you are.

I enjoyed how very informative and creative all the exhibits are. It was a very wonderful experience, and I encourage all, young and old, Caymanian and non-Caymanian, to visit and learn about our beautiful islands.

Small museum and even less content. It should be about $7 not $15 realistically based on the quality and amount of content. We found it interesting and educational but doesn't quite meet expectations/compare to other museums

I was in Cayman, my hometown, and took my girlfriend to Cayman’s wonderful historical museum. We watched a short film on the history of the island, and then toured the amazing interactive museum. This is a must to see when you come to Grand Cayman! My ❤️! My people!

This is a small but very good museum. There is lots to see in a small building. The video that starts the tour is very nice, and they have an interesting gift shop. I learned a lot about the Cayman Islands by investing a small amount of time! Tickets are $8 for adults, discounts for children and seniors.

Great museum, displays an in depth history of the Cayman Islands, has a very good show about the history as well. Cute gift shop with affordable and friendly prices. Must see museum when visiting Georgetown, takes no more than 30min-1hr to tour

Very nice little museum. A short walk from cruise drop off dock. This little gem has several areas- geography, cultural and historical-with a movie and an impressive high tech parts, including an animatronic feature to honor one of the most famous women to grace the area. Such a lovely and proud heritage, so nice to see it featured here. Definitely worth a an hour of your time. Gift shop features locally made items as well as books and a few other unique items (things I did not see in any other shops )

There is a short movie and several exhibit rooms both upstairs and down, so if you're really interested in the whole experience, then allow at least an hour to meander through the place. We were rushed but still enjoyed learning about the history of the island(s).
