First time in Chicago so of course we have to try Portillo’s and it was pretty good. Great vibe as well, so retro. Hotdogs are good but the cheese and fries are even better.

We ate her for around 30 dollars. 2 beef sandwiches, 2 fries and 2 drinks. One piece of constructive criticism is check your tea mix. It seemed a bit off this afternoon. Everything else was GREAT! Hope you can stop in.

If you've been to one Portillos, you've been to them all. The proximity of this location to the hospital is very nice. Walking distance for sure. Service is quick as always.

This place is beyond filthy. On 06/03/2023 around 3:30 CDT one of their employees dropped a full bag of fries on the floor with all fries coming out at the customer’s pick up order side, the fries then were given back to the same employee who puts it in a new bag to give it to one of the diner. I saw someone and asked if he was a manager pointing out the disgusting situation he got upset and start picking a fight with me with the metal fries bagger pointing in my face I asked for a refund and then he pointed out to go over the cashier I went but he still chased me over there to pick another argument refusing to give my refund. Niles health dept. will be made aware of the filth being dealt with at this Portillos. The so called manager’s picture is below for corporate reference. Portillos owes me money for food not served!

Ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fried onions and my husband ordered the Italian beef. Both were very good.Personally the Italian beef bun gets too soggy for me. Service was fine except trying to get them to hold the mayo, lettuce and tomato was a little challenging, but we finally understood each other 👍 The atmosphere was clean but chilly, why is it always cold inside. We definitely will be back, good solid fast food.

Damn these hotdogs were truly amazing, I didn't think I'd enjoy all these ingredients together because I'm not big on them on their own but together they are quite harmonious. It's tart, acidic but flavorful. The italian beef has incredible flavor but is very spicy, even without peppers so beware if you're sensitive. The atmosphere is very cute and what I expect of Chicago. The only thing was the service was not great. Someone took our food so twenty people got their food before ours was made and ready. Other than that I think it's a must have if you're in the area.

I love portillos so much. It was my first time in Chicago and I knew I needed to try this place out finally. I ended up getting it twice in the few days I was there... I loved everything I tried there. I really enjoyed the Italian beef with a side of marinara sauce though. I'm craving a cake shake as I type this. I can't wait to go back. I'm just praying we get a portillos in new york one day.

A little disappointed. Ordered my sandwich dipped with hot peppers. Instead the Italian beef was mostly bread and dry . Then they forgot my hot peppers despite charging me extra for them. Not their best effort on a day where it was surprisingly not busy .

Long-time Portillo's fan, but I'm not going back. In my opinion, the food quality has changed. The last time I had a beef sandwich, the meat was not what it used to be, in terms of quality and taste. Most recently, I had spaghetti with meat sauce. It was 95% noodles, with a small amount of sauce. The meat in the sauce was basically non-existent. It's really too bad.

Ordered an Italiano bowl with hot peppers and mozzarella and they didn't put any on....go back to politely ask for the mozzarella and peppers and they just throw it on without heating it leaving it cold and unmelted cheese🧊🤮. All after waiting almost 1/2 hr wait time.... The Worst portillos I have EVER been to!!!!!

Too expensive, too slow. Good is okay for a chain but you're paying for the name. Great chocolate cake though.

Portillo's is the go-to place for carry-out when entertaining guests, and pizza just won't cut it. Everyone loves the Italian beef sandwiches, pasta, salads, and cake. It's always a hit. My only complaint is that they sometimes get small details of our order wrong. Like they will forget to add the sweet peppers or the jardiniere. Or an add-on specified in the order. We have notified them when something was left out and they did take some off the bill. Which is appreciated.

Good food but I was hoping they would have more chicken/ veg options. I definitely recommend the cake shake and the fries 🍟 Bruh Chug out 🍷

Our very first time in town from Washington DC and we were referred to this place and the food items we ordered had no flavor no seasoning and very sloppy put together. I would never return to this place. It was five of us and not one out of the bunch enjoyed their food. We ordered 2 beef and grilled Italian sausage sandwich, 2 beef cheddar, croissants, the Chicago combo bowl, chopped salad, three strawberry shortcake‘s, which were pretty good, three order of fries to order on onion rings, Never again it really made us miss home.

How can you beat portillos?!? This place is always hopping but they move quick and are accurate with the orders. The employees are friendly and engaging. Makes coming from Lutheran General a little easier. Pro tip- they use beef tallow for the fries and onion rings. The breaded fish is corn oil.

Went for the Chicago beef, was not disappointed! I know it’s a chain restaurant, but somehow it’s better in the Chicago area than anywhere else.

My mom went through the drive thru the other day and the order was missing a salad. We called to see how this could be resolved and the GM had their lovely employee, Jonathan, drop off the salad to our house. Truly exceptional management and service. Also, the food is always delicious. We love Portillos!

This Portillos location is very nice and decorative inside. The interior looks updated. Food is awesome as usual. Right across the street from Lutheran. If finding parking is a big issue at the hospital, you can walk across the street to this location.

We were meeting my brother for lunch and he knows I like Portillo's so we ended up going to one I've never been to. I haven't been in a Portillo's with a Barnelli's in a very long time. It felt really good to be in a location back home. There was only a short line and we were able to place our order quickly. My kids went simple with Chicago style hot dog and french fries while I broke down and had an Italian beef sandwich dipped with hot peppers. I was extremely happy with my food and everyone else enjoyed what they got as well. I was very tempted to get something from the other side but the beef sandwich was the perfect choice for me. If you've never been in a Portillo's location then you are missing out. The decorations are different in every one of them but with so much good stuff to see. You really get the feeling of an old style diner but more to the extreme. I think almost every location has some type of a vehicle mounted up in the air and there are a lot of automotive decorations throughout. If I had the chance I would probably try to visit every one of their locations around the country. We had a really great meal and then went to do some shopping afterwards
