I got Japanese hair straightening done by Claire. As you can see from the photos my hair was damaged. She left the product on my hair too long and did not do the knot test during treatment to see if my hair was done being processed which resulted in over processing and frying my hair. I had just cut off about 12” of hair a few weeks prior to coming to Salon Aveo. My hair was super healthy and all natural, hadn’t even straightened my hair in over a year. When I sat down in the chair Claire asked me if I wanted a haircut and I proceeded to tell her that I just had it cut etc and no I do not want it cut. After the treatment was completed and she was blowdrying my hair before I left she cut off another 2”!!! Why? Because she damaged the heck out of my hair, so without asking me if it was ok and telling me her mistake she just cut it off and then CHARGED ME! $30! And as you can see from the photos it was a mess! My hair is completely uneven and way too short for my liking. I drove 1.5 hours to the salon so it’s not like I could go back and get it fixed after I realized it once I got home. I regret not waiting for the other stylists schedule to open up. TLDR: Claire fried my hair and tried to cover it up by cutting the damage off (2”) after I told her I didn’t want a haircut and then charged me $30 for the haircut (see photos of a very terrible haircut). Never told me she was cutting off my hair bc she damaged it, just went ahead and started chopping.

I have been searching for YEARS for a barber that understood the kind of cut that I wanted. Not only did Shawn nail the cut, he also styled my hair in a way that I didn’t even think was possible for me. The only downside is that my hair will never look as good as the day that it was styled by Shawn until I go back. Other than Shawn being the best barber I’ve ever been to in my life, the atmosphere is super cool, they gave me a really nice head massage, and washed my hair. WORTH the 45 minute drive from Chicago.

I had really hoped for a better experience than I had. I paid $65 for a haircut, and it was the worst I have ever had. I also paid extra to have a “director.” We discussed what I wanted done. My hair was cut 5 inches shorter than I asked. Not 1 inch, not 2, but 5 inches! (Probably more) I also asked for long layers, and didn’t get that either. My hair was cut shoulder length, and I’m mortified. Not only that, it’s completely uneven! I have a wedding to go to in 3 weeks, and my hair is beyond horrible. Please listen to your clients, Jennie! And after 2 weeks, there hasn’t been a response. I’ll be in contact with my credit card company. Shame on you!

Jenny did a great job cutting my daughter's hair. Everyone was very friendly. The place was clean. Would have given 5 star, except there was a mix up with the appointment. Other than that everything was great.

Been here twice. Had a haircut with Shawn which was great. He did a really good job and I loved it. But then the perm experience with Jennie was just beyond horrible. She was multi-tasking and in a huge rush the whole time. Even burnt my ears. And the outcome of the perm was not good at all. I had another haircut just one month after the perm to get rid of the terrible end. I'll only go here for haircuts in the future. But then I just noticed Shawn's price went from $55 (just two months ago) to $80 out of sudden?!

Me and my mom had a great experience getting our hair done. Love how the color of our hair turned out. Jennie and Onew did an amazing job. Highly recommended✨

Went in for a women’s haircut to attend a friend’s wedding. Wasn’t sure how it’d turn out since I was seeing a new designer. However, everything turned out perfect! I asked for layers and curtain bangs but wanted to keep the same length even though my hair was quite damaged. And Jennie delivered! She was able to trim my damaged roots while keeping the desired length. Whoever is reading this if you want a new haircut I would strongly recommend Jennie. She’s awesome!

I walked in completely botched and walked out better than I could have ever imagined thanks to Jennie! Will definitely make Salon Aveo my go to salon going forward! Thank you Jennie for helping me!

Took my son in for his first perm with Onew. We had a great experience and even better service. It is very busy but they took great care of us right away and everyone was on time. Will definitely be coming back!

Paid 65 for a ‘master’ haircut for my mom. I’m still unsure what the difference is between all 3 types of haircuts. Although her hair was straightened and blow dried, only one hair product was used at the end and Jennie did not show her how the back looked. Thankfully, I was there and it looked cute all around.
