Why name a place Camp ground woods when there’s nothing here for camping? Drove an hour and 48 minutes from chicago lakeshore to this place ! What a total disappointment! Nothing but a smal pavilion, a few picnic tables and no restrooms!

Long unpaved (crushed gravel) river trail with parking and additional side dirt trails with lots of shade. This is exactly what I was looking for in a run. Shared pedestrian/biking trail.

Walked the trail. Very clean but a little muddy since it had rained this morning. Quiet and serene... almost too quiet! 🙂

They have picturesque trails, especially the mountain biking trails, which make you feel like you are deep in the woods without actually being far from civilization.

Feel peace as soon as I walk in the door. Friendly people very welcoming. Liked the worship service; Focus on community outreach.

If you want to visit book before 24 hrs

Had a short trail through the forest which crosses Oakton street with fast busy traffic. Poor lighting at roadway makes it dfiicult to see pedestrians also small almost hidden parking area

Awesome biking trails, much better than Jefferson Park where I used to live
