I live in Denver but my family lives in Arlington Heights, and I'm also getting married in Chicago next Spring. My family and I went to Vanessa's in downtown Arlington Heights to pick a bridal gown last month, and it was a great no pressure experience. Vanessa’s Bridals staff was so kind and helped me out with everything that I needed. This is a wonderful place that has a different feel than any other bridal stores in the area. I walked out feeling beautiful and ecstatic about the dress I chose. It was perfect for my body, taste and my wedding theme. My mom, my aunt, my sister and my best friend all loved it. I highly recommend them for any vintage or unique dress styles. Everyone in the salon was so accommodating and welcoming and attentive. I could not be happier. This is the stuff of dreams! As an update, my bridal gown fittings at Vanessa's are going smoothly. We have fun. My mom also end up getting her dress here, so we have our fittings scheduled together. I'm glad I came here for my bridal gown, and would recommend them for everyone!

My wedding was wonderful, and now I finally got a chance to review my vendors. I loved working with Vanessa’s to select my wedding gown, my best friend and I both got our gowns here, and we were helped by a different consultant both named Amanda. :) My Amanda was lovely, she was patient, friendly and helpful, she picked out great dresses based on my body type, even though they weren’t what I originally wanted, one of them was so perfect it became my dream dress! It even came in quicker than expected! Alteration with Barbara went smoothly without a hitch. That’s huge according to all my friends. Be sure to make an appointment by phone, that’s one thing I’ve learned by my wedding gown search from many stores, you can’t just stroll in and expect consultants or seamstresses to be always immediately available. Vanessa’s was great! I recommended them to all my friends in Chicago and now you.

We had a most wonderful experience at Vanessa's. My family and I went to many stores to look for my gown, and we found it at the closest shop to our house!! They don't have racks upon racks of gowns to choose from, but each one I tried on there was so pretty! It's a smaller boutique, so we witnessed a bridal gown second fitting with another bride. Everyone was so relaxed and satisfied, and that to me is very important. Price was good, and customer service was friendly. We are quite happy! Highly recommended!!

I've been waiting almost an entire year to give Lisa at Vanessa's my 5 star review! I was married this past weekend in the dress of my dreams. Back in November of 21, I met Lisa for the first time. Prior to my arrival, I had emailed with Lisa a few times as I was very nervous about dress shopping. I am a plus size gal (borderline mid size, whatever you consider that to be) and wanted to make sure that she knew that prior to my appointment. Lisa made me feel overwhelmingly comfortable, she had all of the dresses I wanted to try on available to me and gave me a 5 star experience with my mom and sister. I even deferred to her when I thought the dress was "too much" - she said, you deserve to be the center of attention at your own wedding. She gave me the confidence that I needed to wear that dress on that day! Her recommended seamstress, Dorina, also deserves a 5 star review. She couldn't stop telling me how beautiful I was in the dress, even on days that I didn't feel that pretty, she made sure I knew that I was a beautiful bride. Please do yourselves a favor and go to Vanessa's modern bride, for their selection, service, and friendship. I will definitely recommend Lisa to everyone I meet moving forward. I had the most wonderful experience finding my dress at Vanessa's Modern Bride! After having bad experiences at big name stores, I decided to try this beautiful boutique in downtown Arlington Heights. Lisa was fantastic to work with. She has such an eye for style and helped me find the right look for my body and taste. Right away, she pulled out so many beautiful dresses for me. The dress that ended up being THE ONE was actually the first dress I tried on! Even though the first one was clearly the one, Lisa helped me to try on different styles that I had been considering just to be sure. She shows genuine interest and care, and you can clearly tell that she loves what she does. Following the appointment, she has been so accommodating when I have needed to make follow-up appointments. I highly recommend shopping here for a beautiful dress and a fantastic experience!

After having gone to a few different locations for my dress and not finding exactly what I was looking for, I decided to try Vanessa's since it's where my sister bought her dress from! Lisa emailed me back right away when I requested an appointment and I filled out a little information form about what I was looking for and what I didn't like. Right away coming in, she was so friendly and kind and I felt so comfortable with her! She picked up on my style right away and never pressured me to go over my budget. Lisa was able to find my dress! She gave honest opinions when I asked for them and truly listened to what I was saying. I couldn't be happier with my service and experience there and I would highly recommend Vanessa's to anyone else having trouble finding their dress!

To give some back story about wedding dress shopping, I had gone to one other bridal salon before going to Vanessas Modern Bride and it did not go well. The first stores dress selection was sub par and left me feeling hopeless. However all of that changed once I stepped foot Into Vanessas Modern Bride. When arriving to my appointment Lisa greeted my mother and I with such kindness and warmth I couldn’t help but feel comfortable around her. Her store was clean, organized, and so cute. After giving Lisa some details about my style preferences she pulled some dresses for me to try on. Let me tell you every single dress she had in the store was drop dead gorgeous. The ones I tried on matched what I had described and were above and beyond my expectations. Lisa clearly listens to her customers and is an expert at what she does. She was patient and understanding as I tried on dress after dress as I loved so many of them. Eventually I narrowed it down to 3 final dresses. She let me come back a few days later in order to FaceTime my friends in because of COVID-19. After the FaceTime call I selected my dress, and was so excited! Once my dress was selected she communicated to the designer on my behalf on some customizations I wanted done. I wanted to raise the back of the dress and line the front of the dress. I didn’t have to do a single thing. She left me feeling so taken care of and all I had to do was wait for the dress to arrive. Once the dress arrived the seamstress Dorina was able to begin the alterations I requested, the biggest being adding sleeves to my dress. Let me just say Dorina is a magician they way she effortless built custom sleeves that look like they belonged with the dress was truly amazing. Everything that Vanessas Modern Bride does is done with excellence and with Lisa guiding you the entire way there is nothing to fear. If I ever had any questions Lisa was organized, timely, and detailed oriented in her work. Every interaction I had with Lisa was amazing. My wedding was last weekend and my dress was absolutely perfect. With Lisa’s and Dorina’s guidance and expertise I feel as if my dress was truly made just for me. I can not say enough good things about my entire experience with Vanessas Modern Bride. I encourage every bride to be to stop in this wonderful store.

I purchased my wedding dress from Vanessa's Modern Bride and couldn't have been happier throughout the whole experience. I had asked about two specific dresses from a line I know they carry. When I arrived for my appointment, Lisa had them pulled as well as others she thought might work based on my picks. Once I was there, she hit the nail on the head with pulling other dresses just based on body, my style, and personality. Lisa offered excellent advice and suggestions. The tailoring was top-notch and all of my requests were executed perfectly. I felt like I was really listened to and they all made everything perfect.

Beautiful shop!!! Very clean and bright. Lisa is the Owner, she is very welcoming and knowledgeable. We have bought 2 wedding dresses from her so far and my daughters were very pleased with the selection there. Not only do they have beautiful wedding dresses, but they also have beautiful jewelry, veils, bridesmaids dresses and more. This shop is special and a hidden gem. 💝

I found my perfect dress at Vanessa's Modern Bride. I recommend this store for a few reasons. First, Lisa is outstanding - she is knowledgeable, personable, easy to communicate with and offers superior customer service. Second, they have a stunning selection of dresses - designers I still haven't seen anywhere else (I shopped in Colorado, Ohio and Illinois). Third, the store is cute and picturesque - the store FEELS special. Fourth and most important - I found THE ONE. I loved basically every dress I tried on. Lisa listened to the feedback as I tried on each dress then recommended I try the dress that ended up being THE ONE and I could not believe it - it was everything I wanted and everything I didn't know I wanted. I have never felt more beautiful than the way I felt on my wedding day. Definitely include Vanessa's in your top dress shops to have your special moment with the dress of your dreams :)

Vanessa's Modern Bride is a charming, personalized bridal shop. After visiting several shops with my daughter to find her wedding dress, Vanessa's was exactly what we were looking for. Lisa, the owner, is professional while also making us feel we were important. She listened to what my daughter was looking for and kept us updated with emails on the status of her dress. We knew we were in good hands. The shop itself is charming and intimate, shopping is by appointment so we were the only customers, another positive.
