Love this market! I just visited again after moving back to the area and it seems as if the stock has greatly expanded. There is a wider variety of Arabic and Jordanian seasonings from what I recall. Family run and very friendly. If you love authentic Middle Eastern food take out, including lamb or vegetarian, this is one stop shopping and feel good about supporting a small, local business.

Amazing and well priced halal shawarmas and other foods. Well stocked store with a large variety of Middle Eastern and other foreign and domestic products. The owners and staff are all very kind, pleasant and helpful people. We stop here EVERY TIME we come to Monterey🙂

Not only can you get a great variety of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern groceries here, but then you discover the falafel wrap omg. So. Dang. Tasty. The family that runs the place are so friendly and take pride in their deli. I'm only a few blocks away, so I'm there at least once or twice a week. The lemon soup is perfect (as long as you get there before they sell out), smooth and bright and satisfying. Tourists would do well to check this place out. They aren't the typical overpriced mediocre restaurant you'll find out here, and that's why I love this place: it's never slammed with Aquarium visitors. Ha.

One of the best places for middle eastern food, you want the best of the best, you know where to go. The owners are sweet and will go above and beyond to make sure any items you might be looking for are there the next time you come in if they are sold out or you have a special request, best baklava hands down.

I went in the store to buy a particular herb and the customer service was extraordinary, extremely helpful. I bought what was similar to what I needed, plus some fresh chicken shawarma and falafel which were delicious. I highly recommend and i will return to look for other foods in the future- Thank you

Near Monterey Bay I found this Mediterranean grocery store cum food place. As it was Halal so I decided to give it a try. Their Menu was so petite that you could only find very basic items of mediterranean cuisine with chicken and beef/ lamb variants. I had Chicken Shawarma Wrap, Beef Shawarma Wrap and Baklava in pistachio flavor. Chicken Shawarma was average but Beef one didn't have any taste, in my language it was totally PHEEKA! Anyways Baklava made my visit there little worthy as it was good. There is no space for dining in or out.

This is one of my favorite places on Lighthouse. If you know what you are looking for, it's amazing.... if you don't.....it's a treasure trove of adventure! They have my favorite teas and saffron sugar. Their sweets are unparalleled! And the staff....the staff! They are amazing and knowledgeable. Regardless of how busy they make me feel like I'm the only one in the store. Their menu is simple and perfected. I almost always get the beef shwarma, and I love everything about it! And they have a good selection of bottled drinks from the Middle East I have never seen before, so I always try a new one! Go eat their food and be happy!

Absolutely amazing Schwarma plate. Tons of Turkish delight selection and fabulous baklava! Super friendly and quick service to boot. Would highly recommend to anyone!

NOT A TOURIST TRAP (coming from a local who doesn’t like to eat out in Monterey and has to go to Salinas for good food). Great food and amazing middle eastern shawarma. If you’re not getting this shawarma what are you even doing on this street?🫠 also, try baklava for dessert!

Fun discovery in Monterey away from Cannery row. Wide selection of foods. We had a lunch at their sidewalk table and watched the cars go by.

If your going to get something from the deli get it earlier in the day so it's fresh and not day old warm. But the market is awesome. Such delicious foods and drinks. The staff is also really nice and very helpful

Little hole in the wall that you might miss as you're blinded by the breathtaking beauty of the Monterey / Pacific Grove coastline. Be sure to stop by and shop for all your Mediterranean ingredients and for the superb deli, operating gyros and shawarma etc. Traditional homey family vibe and it will be a highlight of your trip.

Delish gyros and meals, along with a great variety of international food, coffee, spices, desserts etc for sale. I always have fun finding new items to take home and try here.

This small market specializes in products you would look for when you want to make Middle Eastern dishes. You can also find some ready made products. It is fun to check out what the owner has to offer.

We spent the night in Monterey and there are not a lot of halal food options there. Luckily this place is run by a very nice lady and we got ourselves gyro wrap and chicken/beef platter. We found the chicken/beef but hard to chew but the gyro wrap was delicious. They deserve 5 stars.

This place is seriously the best. I came in here looking to get some good food and practice my Arabic. They were so nice to me, and the food was delicious. Thank you so much for being so kind and having such great service 💕

Hole in the wall but a hidden gem! Had one of the best gyro platters of my Life and shawarma too. Had to come back for seconds the very same day! 🙂 Baklava is great too. Ask for the spicy sauce if you like the heat. Will be revisiting when in the vicinity.
