After seeing the disaster happening on TV. Never did I think I would get to experiance this place for real. I have travelled extensively but this ranks as the best experience I've had. It's saddening to walk round and hits home just how bad things where yet seeing it 30+ years later and how nature now owns the place its stunning yet deserted and crumbling and quite errie. The silence on a place where time stood still after that awful day just blows you away. I shall visit again and if your in the Ukraine this is a must do tour. It changes with the seasons so be prepared in summer being fully clothed ( arms and legs must be covered) it's very hot. Not just the amusement park but chernobyl and chernobyl 2 and reactor. Thankyou to Jenny our guide and the Ukraine for the hospitality and this experiance.

Huge amount of history. Not many may know that events unfolded there, if not for all the heroes, would trigger apocalypse level event.. Going there with chornobyl-tour.ua (official touring company for the area) was absolutely great choice. Our guide Elena was really wonderful guide - she knew really huge amount of information about past events and the place itself The tour takes all day. There is a shop right before entering the exclusion zone. It's the last shop for the tour! There is a lunch at the power plants food hall (expect real Soviet era type of food, it's not bad, it's just.. you have to experience it to understand) I've been there during the winter time, and it was COLD (-20°C / -4°F). But the snow definitely did add some eerie vibe to the experience. You can rent a Geiger counter to have some fun too. At entry you get to put a special dosimeter on your neck which will stay there until you'll leave the zone (this way they'll know how much radiation your body received)

Incredibly sad story and immensely important to remember. What man can build and how wrong it can turn out. It is a great learning experience to see this with your own eyes.

Absolutely amazing. To think, 50000 evacuated in under three hours, most never to return. Really sobering experience

Well, as the name implies I have been really amused, this place is as eerie and haunting as you can imagine, definitely one of the places you should see in your life, it's amazing experience. And believe me, these pics don't show even tiny bit of what it is like to visit ghost town

Great experience. Eerie atmosphere and interesting to explore. English speaking guides were very informative and allowed plenty of time to look round.
