This
is
going
to
be
a
mixed
review.
In
short,
the
hotel
is
good,
just
not
five-star
good
as
advertised.
First,
the
good:
the
rooms
are
spacious
with
nice,
comfy
beds
and
good
air
conditioning
-
important
given
how
hot
the
city
gets.
It's
off
the
Plaza
de
Armas
a
little,
which
cuts
down
on
the
mototaxi
noise.
If
you're
out
at
the
pool,
the
balcony
wall
also
blocks
it
out
a
little.
The
restaurant
has
a
good
breakfast
buffet,
the
standard
offering
down
here.
The
food
at
least
tasted
fresh.
Wait
staff
was
pretty
quick
bringing
coffee
out.
I
ate
one
night
there
for
dinner,
and
the
Amazon-specific
dish
I
ate
was
tasty.
The
shuttle
is
prompt
and
comfortable
both
to
and
from
the
airport
(no
extra
charge).
Now
the
not
so
good:
you
expect
a
certain
level
of
service
when
a
hotel
advertises
itself
as
"five-star."
Rolling
in
at
10:30
at
night
and
discovering
your
assigned
room
hasn't
been
cleaned
yet
is
not
one
of
those
expectations.
A
mortified
bellhop
who
thought
on
his
feet
and
got
me
to
a
different
clean
room
quickly
is
what
saved
the
four-star
review
here.
The
second
problem
was
in
the
gym:
on
a
somewhat
busy
Sunday
morning,
I
worked
out
about
40
minutes.
Outside
at
the
pool
there
were
about
10
people,
in
the
gym
maybe
5.
At
no
point
did
I
see
a
staff
member
come
along
with
new
towels.
I
had
to
walk
nearly
all
the
way
to
reception
just
to
get
a
staff
member
outside
to
provide
new
towels.
It's
something
that
would
not
normally
bother
me
so
much,
but
it's
a
five-star
hotel
as
advertised.
To
conclude,
I
like
the
entire
Costa
del
Sol
network
of
hotels.
Living
temporarily
in
Peru,
I
have
stayed
in
their
hotels
in
Arequipa,
Trujillo,
Chiclayo,
Piura
and
Pucallpa.
Eventually
I
will
get
to
their
locations
in
Cajamarca
and
Cusco.
The
experience
has
always
been
good.
This
one
was
ok.
I
think
they
can
improve
this
hotel
a
little
more
to
help
it
live
up
to
its
rating.
