A quiet, free, uncrowded museum that goes in-depth details about the history of the cheonggyecheon area. Worth a stop if in the area.

Great museum for learning about the history of central Seoul and the redevelopment of Cheonggyecheon stream. Fairly small but many multimedia and interactive displays. Most of the information is given in English as well as Korean and there are leaflets available in various languages. You need to go up the escalator outside the building and then enter. You start at an upper floor and work your way down to the ground floor. My favourite part was a room with projections on each wall, as well the floor showing life during the Joseon period at one bridge along the river. This is actually past the exit doors at the end of the main exhibition. Theres a reception desk on your right and the exit on your left but its worth it to keep going to the room at the end past the toilets to see this exhibit.

We are very glad we went to visit this museum. The information and exibitions are so beautifully and wonderfully presented with great details. It provided a lot of very interesting information and images of the history of Seoul, not just the history of the waterways. The art animations are so subtle but magnificent. And the layout of the building is very nicely done. This was such a great place to visit before we went across the road (to the small display building on the stream side) and then started our walk along the stream. A highlight of our visit to Seoul. Congratulations and thank you to the people that created this museum! The restoration of the waterways is a great thing that the city has done to help balance development and the quality of life and environment for the people of Seoul.

Free and well designed museum about the "Stream". Well planned and good story telling. Pity , little remains of the original shanty towns except the shops right in front of the museum. The stream is an integral part of the ancient city hence the stream is an important part of history. Korean museums are top quality even though this is a limited museum. You know they put much effort and attention to details.

This museum was free or very inexpensive as I remember. It was just 3 floors tall, just about right for a museum. So it wasn't really big where you miss stuff. And yet it wasn't too small either. Also there is modern history with photographs, that you see the change over time. It was very impressive in several ways. It is right next to the Cheongyecheon, so you can easily walk to some of the photographic locations. I particularly liked the ariel photograph of Seoul, so you could see where you were compared to where the Cheongyecheon is. Also the life sized and minutiae village were fascinating to view.

This has been the best museum I've been in in Seoul and it was very interesting because I walk along this River all the time and now I know a very in-depth history about it. There is everything is translated into English Korean and Mandarin and it's very very nice good for a hour-long break in the day

Informative walk through 3 floors of exhibits about the history and development of the stream and how people and the city have changed with it. Exhibits are in both Korean and English. No ticket cost. You start from the top floor accessed using the escalator from street and then work your way down. Worth 45 minute visit if you have time and enjoy the history of the city.

Beautiful place rich with history and events that took place around Cheonggyechron Stream. How it shaped the city that Seoul is now today. I had no idea that maintaining it throughout the centuries it had been such a big project. Thank you for sharing it with us. Please visit the place if you have time.

A lovely museum off the beaten path so never crowded. Walk the stream and then cool off on the air conditioned museum while learning more of the said stream's history.
