In construction. Elevators are very slow. Had problems where they charged me twice. Breakfast was very ordinary. Room is way smaller than you could imagine with the pictures. Windows were not properly isolated and we could feel the cold wind. Bathroom is tiny. Take a steamy shower and for sure you will wet everything in the room. TV wasn't working. Pillows are good but mattress is not the best. They put towels under the windows because condensation would accumulate rapidly. It was very humid in the tiny room and I felt all sticky in the morning. Really bad place. I paid a third of that for a hostel in Hongdae and it was 10x better. I do not recommend.

We stayed for 6 nights here. 57 Myeongdong is located on the 11th, 12th and 13th floor and the lobby is on 13th floor. The elevator goes to 13th floor but you have to take the stairs to the terrace, which is on the 14th floor. After you check-in, the receptionist explains everything about the hostel. (You have to let the staff know if you want your waste bin to be cleaned etc.) Rooms were quite small but the view was just amazing. Plus, our room (number 1314) was located at the corner, which means we had two windows, so we doubled our view! One of the coolest things about 57 Myeongdong Hostel is the terrace! Some days we had our dinner there (you can bring take away food as long as you clean after you) and some days we drank beer. You can also see N Seoul Tower from the terrace! But there are only three tables there. Please add more tables! There is different WiFi connection for each room and every room has its own password. Therefore, the internet speed is quite fast. 57 Myeongdong Hostel has a bad breakfast arrangement. It lasts from 7 am to 10 am but there are only 3-4 tables for the whole three-floor. Sometimes you have to wait for people to finish their breakfast and this is the last thing you want when you booked a tour and you have to leave the hostel early. :/ And, I find this really strange but everyone has to wash their own dishes. This is hygienically wrong. After you wash your tableware, the staff wipes it with a cloth and that’s it. They put the tableware on the counter again for re-use. How can I trust other people, and vice versa — how can they trust me, what if they didn’t clean it properly? This is concerning. When you enter the building, there is a 83-year-old uncle in his little hut. He’s there until evening. If you see him, please say hi to him, he’s a lovely person! I taught him how to say “hi” and “thank you” in Turkish and we took a photo together, great memory!

We really enjoyed our stay here. It is a hostel, not a hotel, so it's not perfect but it's excellent for the price and location. The staff were great and gave us excellent restaurant recommendations. Our room wasn't huge but not too small for two people. The bathroom is very small but we were glad to have our own bathroom. The location couldn't be more convenient.

the hotel location is really convenient! we couldn’t expect better location for our second trip to seoul. the room was a bit small but it wasn’t a problem for us! however, the wifi wasn’t really good in our room, got a lot of connection problem during our stay. Having a breakfast included in the price of our booking was also really good! there were a lot of choices and everyday has different food options

Absolutely don’t recommend. The male staff speaking fluent English, is especially shady. I don’t even know if this place is even legal to run. This place should be illegal. I feel bad for anyone who stayed here. Absolute waste of money. Don’t stay here and thank me later.

Place 10 on 10 service is also 10 on 10 just cleanliness was not up to standard and . I couldn’t get them to clean my room. Although I stayed at same room for 4 days. When I asked they stated I need to mention about room cleaning early morning. Horrible excuse. And the room walls are so thin, I couldn’t even listen everything ppl talked next room. Embarrassing at time. Don’t go this place with family especially with children or parents.

The location is superb. Just a couple minutes away from the subway station and the busy area. The pictures made the room look a bit larger than they actually were. The walls are thin that we could hear the next door. However, the staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast includes the basic toast and stuff, and specialties: Korean dumplings or congee or curry depending on the day!

I passed the premises when I used Google map, as I thought it had a bigger entrance, the business sigh was too closed to others,.The reception and free breakfast was located on top floor .,walking street just downstairs but you will not hear anything because no windows, very small room with two single bed and bathroom, the price is very comfortable, you will not complain anything .I will recommend to stay there.

I stayed at the 57 Myeongdong Hostel for two and a half weeks this summer. The location was very convenient- just one block from metro station and Namdaemun market and steps away from restaurants, shopping and great street food at the Myeongdong night market. The hostel was clean and safe. We stayed one night in a smaller standard room and the rest of our stay in a deluxe room with a view. Both rooms were pleasant, comfortable, clean and as represented on the website. The included breakfast provided a lot of choices and it was a great way to start the day. I enjoyed the rooftop picnic tables. The view was beautiful and gave me a peaceful way to experience the city. The staff spoke English so well and they were kind and helpful. They patiently answered lots of questions for this inexperienced traveler and made my trip with my daughter so much easier and relaxing. This is a hostel and so of course it is a different experience than a luxury hotel but that is exactly what I wanted. Little things like washing your own dishes with other guests gave me the chance to connect with travelers from other countries which added richness to my travel experience. Last but not least, the very reasonable price allowed me the freedom to spend money on activities that we really enjoyed while we were in Seoul. Thank you to all of the staff for making my trip so memorable. (Especially the lovely man at the entry on the first floor who never failed to wish me a good day and welcome me home.) We look forward to staying with you again on our next trip to Korea.

Pros : 1) The hostel is easy access just by walking to myeongdong market, Nandeanum market and seoul tower. A bit far from Gyeongbokgung Palace, but still reachable by walk. 2) The breakfast is sufficient with good enough food that you can eat a lot to last until evening. 3) The wifi having decent 50mbps speed in the room and in the hotel lobby. 4) The staff are friendly and good in english. Easy to discuss. Cons : 1) The room is small but still manageable, but the toilet is tooo small, even i have to move my leg to side if sitting on the toilet bowl. 2) The room bed is hard, to be honest, i have back pain after 5 days staying there, as well as the pillow is so soft, it will not support your head and i have neck pain too after 5 day. 3) Also, to be honest, the room air is very dusty, after first days staying here, me and wife coughing a lot, and itchy nose. So we have to sleep with mask on everyday the rest of the trip . 4) 1 thing they didnt inform you earlier is that they only clean your room and change the bedsheet after 4 days. Means if you rent the room for 1-4 days, they will not clean your room. For me, i book for 5 days, i entitled for 1 room cleaning. Thats why the room is always dusty. 5) And lastly, whoever want to visit Korea, just bear in mind that korea is expensive country, very expensive. If compare to my malaysia country, the food and cloth and electronic stuff is very very expensive. If you really want a good vacation, phuket thailand is the place.

Location is near to metro station which makes it easier to tour Seoul, also it's in Myongdong center. + Breakfast was included and staff were supportive However, bathroom is kinda small with no privacy walls.

Though the room is pretty small but it is a great budget hotel and just 5 min walk from subway. The service is exceptional and responsive. I will definitely stay here again if I come to Seoul.

Very bad experience on this hostel. Staff wasnt very friendly and no smile. They only answer you when ask. Room was very small. No space to put your luggage. There is only some tiny space for yoy to stand. The toilet was very tiny too and have a toilet smell. Complained to the staff and he come and checked but replied there is no smell. What type of reply is this! I requested to change room but was told that the room was fully occupied. The bathroom and toilet are combined together but guess what? The shower head was put right corner top about the basin. Are you expecting your guest to stand brushing the teeth while taking bath? Very bad design. Will not come back again. Disaster.

Near myeongdong. A strategic place, near a bus stop for the airport and it also cheap. I stayed for 10 days here with my brother and sister on march 2019.

It was very affordable and if it's your first or second time in Seoul, the location can't be beat. It's a short bus ride away from several palaces and walkable distance from N. Seoul Tower. Also, it's in the middle of Myeongdong which is a great shopping area. The staff are really nice and friendly. Breakfast is provided and there is strong wi-fi coverage everywhere. My only complaint is that the room was really warm. The air conditioning wasn't strong and the windows didn't open so my room was pretty much warm/humid all the time, even at night, which made it difficult to sleep. If this problem was fixed it would have been a perfect stay.
