I was only passing on bicycle and popped in to see what the open day was about. They had moth trapping and all kinds of stalls with knowledgeable people and things to do. All staff are super friendly and the place is very relaxing.

This is a beautiful place to visit with family, young and old. The paths are level, with ramps up to the bird hides making it accessible for everyone, including those in wheelchairs. There are many ponds to look at as you walk around, meaning it keeps the little ones occupied too. Definitely a place I would recommend.

Lovely serene place. Has lots of bird watching huts where you can spy on the wildlife. It's a nice walk. They also have some large ponds with various creatures living in them. Loads of dragonflies around which are cool to look at. It's completely free and there is parking. It's well tucked out of the way, you wouldn't even know it was there but I guess that is what makes it such a good nature reserve.

A fabulous space supported by volunteers and local support. MAKE SURE YOU DONATE!! By far one of my favourite places to visit and a perfect example of what hard work and passion can create, every visit I've been amazed at the effort put in by volunteers to constantly improve Rodley Nature Reserve. From the graft being put in building new Hides to the lovely staff whom man the cafe/visitor centre its great to see. It's a perfect place for kids to explore nature with nets in the dipping ponds, see nature just centimeters away and be able to touch and interact with nature. There's around 4/5 large spotting hides, some newly laid paths to assist getting around and provide a more suitable path for wheelchairs. Car park is on site which is free as well as free entry but please donate to support this fantastic project and people. There's also a small visitor centre with fish, newts etc HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Today I visited with a group of toddlers. We drove in and parked at the first car park. It is very muddy so appropriate foot wear is needed. There is a disabled car park a further drive along the road. It's a little walk along a flat road to the first hide. It's all signposted. The children enjoyed opening the windows and looking for birds. We tried to match what we saw to the images in the hide We visited 3 hides, with good visibility. Spoke to some friendly helpful visitors who helped us spot some wildlife. This is a lovely free family attraction, with a cafe on site, we didn't visit that today. Check out their website as there are quite often events going on pond dipping, treasure hunts usually around school holidays.

Fantastic nature reserve for young and old alike. Bird hides, ponds, reed beds and meadows can keep you entertained for hours. Also has a visitor centre with a cafe that sells light refreshments, bird food and craft items

We have lived nearby for over ten years and Sunday was the 1st time visiting the reserve!!! We will definitely be returning. There was pond dipping on when we arrived which both my 2 and 7 year old loved!!. The volunteers who were running the session were so friendly and informative. My son was pleased he caught a greater boatman and many other pond creatures (All were safely put back). The walk around the reserve was flat and gravelled so suitable for all and pushchairs. There are toilets on site and a small cafe where you can get warmed up. It is no frills but the wildlife is the main priority and this what is so lovely about this place. If you live nearby make sure to visit and support this wonderful cause.

Great visit wish I knew about it sooner! Luckily we visited at not a busy time early morning weekday during school term time so got to spend time in the hides overlooking the lakes and marshland we was fortunate to see a snipe and heron/s also a load of of birds I could a lot of time listing them all. Dogs are not allowed at all so not a place to take the dog for a walk excellent place for photography or wildlife enthusiasts.

Lovely nature reserve. Obviously run by a brilliant group of volunteers. Visitor centre has a lovely little tea shop in it with nice views and it’s up to you to decide how much you’ll pay for your teas, coffees and cakes which is really cute. And you can pay by card. Little owl in the Manager’s Garden / feeding station area was our highlight. Peregrine perched on pylon nearby was a close second. The little harvest mice in the visitor centre were off-the-chart cute. Great to see conservation in action.

A peaceful and relaxing escape from the surrounding city and its suburbs. Ideal for wildlife and nature lovers, whether you're an expert or not. It's somewhere for walks, sitting with a pair of binoculars or enjoying a cuppa and cake in the smashing little visitor centre. Great for kids of all ages

I've been taking my kids here since they were tiny and they always love it. We can quite happily spend 5 hours walking round investigating everything. In fine weather, we love to take a picnic and sit in the little butterfly garden area. Rodley Nature Reserve is a fantastic place to spend some time outdoors, observing nature. There's a little cafe for refreshments, all the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. We've had lots of help when trying to identify certain birds etc. There are lots of community events throughout the year and opportunities to volunteer there as there is a lot to be done to maintain it.

Fantastic nature reserve. Was specifically looking for the dragonfly ponds. Was hard to find no sign. I walked past. But found them in the end. Unfortunately a bit late in the year so none were seen. So another trip next summer. Looking forward to it.

It’s a fantastic place to go with all the family especially as they have lots of events going on during the year. I went to go do face painting, glitter tattoos and festival glitter and I had an absolutely fantastic time. Very friendly people.. It’s a beautiful and clean place to go with the children especially as they learn a lot about nature. I would definitely recommend

Love Rodley nature reserve. There plenty to look at. Parking for dissabled at the top near the cafe, where you will find very helpful friendly volunteers, buy bird feeders and seed etc. They have a scooter for hire free of charge ( I would book ahead)
