Just reopened again after a complete refurbishment and it was well worth the wait. Completely transformed to a more modern climbing centre and somehow looks double the size even though the building hasn't changed. Initial route setting is great as usual and with the new Armley centre close by too Leeds has to be up there with some of the best climbing gyms in the UK.

This is a good place to visit for various climbing disciplines. I'm only used to bouldering so this was an exciting opportunity to try something higher, and it didn't disappoint. Going from the relatively low walls of bouldering to the huge auto-belay climbs is such a mental shift, but once you've put your trust in the equipment, you find it actually enhances your confidence and climbing ability. The bouldering wall is smaller than where I usually frequent, but is laid out with good problems that offer plenty of variation without being too reachy. The venue also offers hot and cold drinks and some food options. It has free lockers too.

Great climbing venue with excellent staff. The large selection of auto belays available make it a viable choice for a solo climber and the roped climbs are excellent. They have a great bouldering section with plenty of challenges and a section for pull ups. I'm yet to try the food but it always looks delicious and the shop is well stocked with plenty of options for equipment and books with attentive staff who will give you unbiased advice. I would highly recommend that if you want to return to or start climbing this is a great choice.

A well distributed climbing centre with grades to please everyone. Staff and friendly and helpful. There is a shop on site stocking books, chalk bags, and most other climbing essentials. The shop also hosts a cafe. Edit 26/5 - soon to close for refurbishment

Another great Depot Climbing Centre. This one has a bunch of huge roped routes, with a few auto belays and a small bouldering wall. The big walls looked amazing, and had some really interesting features. The bouldering was good, and the route setting seemed to be at the more difficult end of the grades, which made for some challenging problems. As always, staff were polite and friendly with a well stocked shop, good coffee and snacks.

Really great climbing wall with a lot of options which should suit climbers of all abilities. The centre has been completely redesigned and it's so nice, split over several levels but with wheelchair access as well. There's a good size shop if you need to pick up any climbing gear, as well as a cafe.

Had such a great time lead climbing the other week after so long not being able to. Well worth the journey and the membership for Depot gyms!

Best climbing centre in the area by a ling shot, especially following the renovation. Also much improved access for wheelchair users. Knowledgeable staff and groups, sessions etc for all sorts of ages and abilities. Good coffee and the freshly made pizzas are great, as are the homemade cakes. Also has a well stocked shop if you're in need of any gear or climbing books.

Joined as a beginner about 6 months ago and have loved it as a place to begin bouldering/climbing. Bought a membership and loving it as a community. The staff are friendly, welcoming and clearly passionate about climbing. They are honest and helpful when you are trying to figure out a route or buying some new gear from the shop. The routes are challenging and frequently reset, requiring different techniques and problem solving. The bouldering section is quite small, but I find the routes more enjoyable than some other bouldering gyms (with less choice among grades, the only way is up!) However it is clear that this is a gym for big wall climbing. Other things of note: bus stop right outside, great lemon cake, the temperature of the taps are perfect, and the music is poppin’.

Very frustrating experience dealing with the staff here. I understand they need to do a check before you climb. I’ve been climbing for 20 years and cannot believe how many times I was made to re-do the test in a very condescending way, trying to guess what they want me to do. Eventually, I was told they want the stopper knot to be tied a little bit lower which is the opposite of what the other branch want. In the end I gave up and asked for a refund as I was shocked at the disrespectful way that the staff talk to you. My advice to the management is please put an exact description of how you want the the knots to be tied if you are going to be that aggressive with the people who just want to climb.

First time I have been in over a year and I was pleasantly surprised to see the wall and layout completly updated, this place is amazing now!!! Filled with tonnes of routes that were a great mix of difficulties. Staff were super friendly and accomodating. There were a couple lockers dotted around to keep bags in. The reception also doubles up as a cafe and they also do breakfast and food too! They have a shop too that sells ropes, shoes, harnesses, books, literally everything! Note: We came on a Sunday and it was rather busy.

Purchased shoes and after climbing in them for half an hour I realised they were too small.. My request to exchange them the same day for a bigger size was refused.. absolutely disgusted with this level of service and customer care. In addition the bouldering is overpriced.. If you're looking for indoor bouldering in Leeds LSD is far superior. Would not recommend 'The Depot' Leeds.

An amazing climbing centre with an amazing team of people working incredibly hard to keep the centre ruining. Climbs are tough but doable and always a pleasure to climb. A great climbing centre in Leeds.

They all tuck good care of me and told me what i need to do to go on with it all. I loved it thank you so much. I can't wait until I get back on the walls again.

I am visiting leeds and was looking for a Boulding wall with a coach to help me develop good basic technique as a beginner. I had a fantastic session with Cory who was extremely competent at both climbing and instruction with individualised feedback based on my strengths and weaknesses. Highly recommended.
