I recently visited the tiny museum of Museo Textil de Oaxaca and was amazed by its beauty. The architecture of the museum is stunning. The museum has a wide range of textile collections that showcase the rich culture and history of Oaxaca. I highly recommend visiting this museum if you're in the area!

Fantastic museum. It is small, so it’s a quick visit and the entrance is free so it is financially accessible. The museum celebrates traditional textile while also exhibiting contemporary pieces. Also, if you are looking for high quality clothing, the museum has a store where you can buy unique pieces. I loved that all the tags stated who made the piece, where is was made, what materials were used, and what method was used.

Worth the visit, free entrance, and a quick tour. Nice collaboration with local and India work. Unfortunately there were some exhibits closed, not sure when they will open 😕. Overall I'm overwhelmed by my ancestors work. Nice museum, close to other museum's nearby, give it a chance and stop on by.

Lovely small museum. Perhaps a change since previous reviews, they do have some of the descriptions in English now and others have a QR code for English translation as well. There were only 3 exhibits open while we were there and they were all really beautiful. Also the building itself is gorgeous!

A tranquil visit to a short exhibition regarding the wonderful indigenous people of Oaxaca and their traditional clothing. The ‘Reverses’ exhibition on the top floor when you enter. 🙌💯 Some rules to follow. Must wear a mask at all times. No flash photography permitted. Your personal belongings must be locked away in storage. You will be given the key and the security guard is there.

An interesting museum. We first went to the second floor to find a very interesting one-person show which was very good. I particularly liked the piece of the woman and her bed and how her life progressed from the view of the bed. It brought tears to my eyes as her son grew and cared for her. The first floor appears to be a static display showing a persons affection for Japanese kimonos.

It was mildly interesting. I guess if that was your thing it would be pretty awesome. The designs are beautiful and there was quite a well presented map of where the different styles come from. It was free too, so worth it even if you're not really into fabric and design.

Beautiful, the time this museum took to put the pieces together is beautiful. It's peaceful the gardens are incredible. The displays are magnificent. Bringing so many wonderful artists in one place definitely makes it worth stopping by.

I was in and out in about 30m. I think exhibits were limited due to COVID. May also be why they didn’t charge an entrance fee. Beautiful pieces to admire.

Worth a quick trip to check it out! Entrance is free, it’s a very small museum and should take no more than 30 mins to get through. They have English translations which was helpful. Loved the exhibition exploring the reverse side of textiles.

This is quite a tiny museum, but it’s free admission and I enjoyed it for what it is. You can see everything in about 10-15 minutes or you can do what I did and spend a lot of time working out the awkward translations and tracing the different traditional clothing to the map where each design comes from on the charts outside the main exhibit on the second floor, then spend too much time in the gift shop which has some really high delightful textiles for purchase.

Outstanding small museum and education center. The current exhibit of indigenous textiles was educational, plus " reverso" showcases rugs from around the world hung to be viewed on both sides was fascinating.

It's a really nice place, it's free to enter too, you just need to write your name and country. In 3 different rooms you get to see different styles of their textile. Most of the info is in spanish.

The entrance is free. You just note down your name, where are you visiting from and what time did you arrive. They had such beautiful pieces. They have a booklet at the entrance that coordinates with the pieces to read more about. However, the book is in Spanish

This is a beautiful museum that features displays about the local culture and cultivation of fiber for the creation of textile. The key feature of the building is the architecture and the combination of modern construction. This is most evident in this interior courtyard where in modern glass and steel building is incorporated into a stone and break arch courtyard.

Excellent museum. The guide had so much to share about the two exhibitions. We spent way more time than we had initially planned but definitely worth it.

Nice little textile museum. Most of the information is in spanish which was an issue for us. Entry is free though. Was delighted to see collaboration between artists from kutch Gujarat, India and Oaxaca artists.

This is my second time to the museum. It is currently undergoing some construction and there isn’t as much on display. That said, once the exhibits are back, this is a great museum with very interesting pieces (historic textiles to modern textile art rooted in tradition). Admission is free.

Free museum with a small exhibition of local handmade textiles. Lovely building. Not much on it's own but it's located inside an old ex monastery which is interesting to explore

A great place to learn about the history of the Oaxacan textile and different regional styles. There were three exhibitions, each dedicated to a different topic. There was a small locker to put items that you don't want to carry. The entrance is free and wearing a mask is mandatory.

As of July 29, 2022 most rooms were closed due to COVID, being considere too small for visitors to maintain social distance. Two nice temporary exhibits only one room of regional costume. No exhibits about how textiles of the region are made was open. Great gift shop though with helpful staff huge numbers of books and handmade textile jewelry including items made fr the outermost layer of silkworm cocoons.
