The room we got was much nicer than we anticipated. The staff was amazing! The woman who cleaned our room Margarita was so lovely. This other guy Darling was amazing as well. He works long days and is front and center for all of the activities and has so much energy. They both deserve raises. The food at the resort was decent, lots of options and the omelet bar was awesome. There are also lots of vegetarian/vegan options!

The people are amazing. Every single person is great. Service is second to none. People working here are probably the best feature of this place. Food is really good. I can always find something new, fruit is fresh, selection is great. I wish the rooms were a little bit more updated, but they are fine. You just sleep here anyway. The whole place is beautiful, has a lot of greenery and I love that they are mindful of plastic pollution with how they handled the filtered water. Yes, drinking water is filtered so that your don't drink an amoeba and get a diarrhea. Just don't drink the water you are showering in and you'll be fine. ;-) I do recommend this place. You can see the effort that went into making our stay pleasant and we appreciate it.

We visited the Iberostar Costa Dorada for 1 week at the end of February. When we arrived we were given a room with a view that was not very impressive. It did not resemble at all what we saw in the pictures. We went down to the front desk and spoke to the manager, who changed our room for us early the next morning. After that, our stay was Amazing!! We had a nice view of the lush property (not ocean view, but VERY nice) where we could see peacocks every morning and evening. The food was unbelievable for an all inclusive!! There was a HUGE variety, and they changed the theme every night (you could still get most of the staples every night if you did not like the nights theme). Breakfast was our favorite with made to order omelets and eggs everyday, plus about everything else you could ever want for breakfast (pancakes, crepes, waffles, tons of fresh fruit, cereal, oatmeal, sausage, bacon, and much more). The grounds were gorgeous, pool was huge with 2 bars (1swim up), and the beach was great! They also offered ocean kayaks, wind surfers, hobbie cats (catamarans) for guests to use free of charge. As well as snorkeling trips and scuba for its guests. The resort also has an incredible spa, and gym. Overall the grounds were beautiful, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the food was amazing! We loved it here, and if/when we come back to the DR, we will 100% stay here. Highly recommended!

Loved it! It was an amazing trip! The hotel, the location, great layout for easy access to activities and drinks and well the cleanliness of the rooms - all top of the line!… But specially the crew and the food! Both were outstanding, the people were very kind and warmth, very attentive, the food at the restaurants was delicious - specially the italian, we spent most of our dinners there. Thank you for giving us a great vacation!

Loving our stay so far. Spacious in general,big pool like 4 in 1. Kiddie pool. Food is good and have variety compare to other resorts in POP. Love the updated bathrooms, plugs and switches on the headboard. Beach has a lot of seaweed, but found a clear spot and enjoyed it. Air conditioner worked well!

This is my first time at this resort (January 2024), and all is wonderful so far! The food is great, food is always stocked and fresh at the buffet, the restaurants are delicious, and there is a lot to do! The entertainment crew kept us super busy during the rain yesterday which was amazing! The bar tenders are nice and make great drinks and the beach is beautiful and clean. The pool area is great and clean and the property is well kept. Fabulous resort, would recommend!

Service is top notch and heartfelt. Beach is nice. Hotel is old and seems under-maintained. Food is so variable - some days it's great, some days it will kill your appetite. Reservation restaurants are not good, except the Mexican one, which is actually quite nice. Pools are lovely, social events are lovely. There are fish and turtles in the ponds which were fun to see. Campus is beautiful, with lots of palm trees, well maintained, and especially beautiful at night. And as I mentioned first, the staff and service are the best part of this hotel.

Oh my goodness! Only a two night stay but I felt at home. Although long resort stays are not my preference…I foresee the possibility of returning in the future for an extended getaway. Perfect customer service. Well maintained. They have refillable glass water containers in each room. This picture will be my mental escape until I return ❤️

We had a great time at the hotel and really enjoyed our vacation. Check-in was quick and efficient and we got a ride to the building with our room. We received help with our luggage and it was carried up the stairs to our room on the 3rd floor. We chatted with Stephanie from guest services and she helped us to make reservations for the Japanese and Mexican restaurants. She even called us to confirm a reservation for the Italian restaurant as we needed an earlier time due to our toddler‘s bedtime. The food was great in all restaurants and the live cooking in the Japanese restaurant was definitely fun to see. We loved to variety of drinks and food. The cleaning staff, waiters, bartenders and all service staff were super friendly and it was always a pleasure to chat with them. We loved the beach and the pool area and the little orchids garden with its swing and the waterfall. We also enjoyed the massage in the spa which was very well done and fairly priced. The room was ok but it could need some renovations / deep cleaning. All in all a great vacation with lots of good memories.

Overall, I would give this hotel a rating of three stars. The main reason for this is because the hotel is VERY outdated. When we arrived, the rooms were in terrible condition. The front door would not close properly, the closet was broken, the safe was not working, the shower was rusted, the tiles were cracked, the lights were flickering, and there was even a leak on the roof of the bathroom. We reported these concerns and they did their best to fix them, but there is only so much a repairman can do about the structural damage. We also did not have the best experience in terms of service. There were certain people that provided us with excellent service, mainly in the lobby, housekeeping, and buffet/restaurant areas. However, the bartenders were very rude and barely acknowledged us because they were talking amongst themselves. Also, we had a terrible experience in the spa after receiving a massage where the masseuse rushed us to put our clothes on because there were "other guests waiting" even though we had to wait for the guests before us. Customer service can definitely improve. However, the food was great and the beach/pool were lovely.

My husband and I booked this resort for our baby moon/late honey moon (Feb 2024) We are Iberostar members. We are loving this resort. The ambiance is beautiful, the staff are so friendly and warm, the food is pretty good (better than I expected), and the vibes are so great. Super Joe and the star friends are awesome! Such a great time. It’s not the fanciest or most updated resort, but it definitely has exceeded our expectations. We booked as a last minute get away before our baby comes, so we were budget conscience and got more than we bargained for. Thought it would be one and done, but I definitely would return for a less expensive getaway.

My 5-yr old daughter participated in the Star Camp activities daily and loved it. She particularly loved the dance party and games every evening. On the DR themed day, the resort had a huge carnival in the middle of the day, and let all the kids from the Star Camp to participate. They dressed the kids in the national costumes, let them walk in the parade and dance on the main stage. Barbie was our favorite, but all ladies were super sweet and kind with kids. Highly recommending to take advantage of the Star Camp while enjoying your relaxing stay. Fun and safe place for kids!

This resort had great facilities, a clean environment, lots to do, lots to eat and friendly staff! La Shoty, a staff member was very inviting and lead very fun pool games to keep visitors entertained! The games staff was very friendly and happy to let us borrow lots of equipment throughout our stay! I would definitely come back!

Beautiful resort and beautiful people! The staff are amazing!! Special shout out to chocolate and Julian. Chocolate keeps the fun and games going and Julian makes the best drinks!! I love this resort. Also cannot forget the Star Club workers. They live in our kids and give us some free time! My kid cried to go every day! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Highly recommend for families!

I'll start by saying the staff are wonderful and work tirelessly. The wait and service staff in the food halls are quick to ask for your needs, and the activity staff always bring much energy and joy. Guest services was great and activity leader PEPSI was fantastic! The integrity of the rooms on the other hand are a different story. They are cleaned well by housekeeping but the maintaining of appliances and details are run down. Our fridge leaked, the toilet seat is very misaligned, my tea bags were old and moldy, our safety box wasn't functioning properly, and not all the power outlets worked. These kind of details need to be sorted out. I'm sure we were not the first guests to run into these problems. The COVID protocols on this resort are not very strict. Understandably it is a resort where people want to relax and we did travel knowing full well that COVID is still kicking. But I was surprised to see the bar staff barely wearing their masks and the food in the buffet were left out in the open with no lid coverings whatsoever. Nobody enforced guests to wear masks in the buffet quarters either. Quite honestly, a total lack of COVID safety. Speaking of food, it isn't the best here. There was a wide variety of food items which was wonderful. We had fun exploring our options. But the fun ends there. Some of the choices were not as a palatable as I'd hope. Stick with the basics for food when you're here! I think this place could be fun for a short 5 day trip with an excursion or two off the resort. But without having the foundations of a well running hotel fixed, I would not recommend or return to this establishment.

The kids Star Camp was one of the best things that we discovered in our time here. The staff is SO friendly and great with the kids. My 7 year old would have gone everyday if he could have. Carolina is AMAZING! My 10 year old has type 1 diabetes and she was always checking in with me making sure he could eat or drink certain things. THANK YOU SO MUCH… you made this trip memorable for for our whole family with all your kindness ❤️

My friend and I booked a stay for 7 days. Overall I am pleased with my stay. The staff was exceptional especially in the Japanese restaurant. The hostess Paola & Tony were incredible. There was many opportunities to buy souvenirs, clothes and any amenities you may have needed. Housekeeping was top tier, front desk staff was also incredibly helpful. Paola really stood out among everyone. When I didn’t have a charger bc mine didn’t work in the room, she found me one immediately.

The customer service/front desk was one of the worst of any hotel or resort that I've ever stayed at.. It took over an hour and half to check in and we didn't even know why, they never told us anything. Then after waiting in the long line, I finally get to the front desk & then all 3 attendants behind the desk, leave without saying a word!! Then the next day, I'm waiting in line for dinner reservations & get to the front & the exact same thing happens!! She leaves without saying a word!! Horrible customer service!! They definitely need to learn to communicate better because they don't tell you anything!! They don't give you any itinerary or information about the resort, entertainment or rooms, etc. in general.. I didn't know when or how to set reservations, what the towel key was for, how the fan or AC worked in the rooms (it's the knob by the bed if anyone is curious) The rooms had 1 outlet total and I had to unplug the TV just to charge my phone! But on the positive side, the housekeeping, the restaurant staff & bartenders were top notch.. They were excellent 100. I was also pleasantly surprised with the restaurant food.. it was very good as well. If this resort would get their front desk in order then I may give higher grade but until then, I won't be back or recommend to anyone.

Bathroom is from the last century. When we arrived, nothing was working. We complained and they sent somebody to fix shower and sink. That worked only one day. We stopped complaining because this old moldy bathroom cannot be fixed. It needs complete renovation! Otherwise, food and service is great! Staff is friendly!

Entertainment staff was the best! Very friendly and fun. Made you feel very involved. Vainilla was extremely friendly and entertaining. Room was older but very clean. Wait Staff was helpful but spoke very little English. Food was excellent. Definitely recommend but bring someone who speaks Spanish with you.

The A/C didn't work well. I tried to unsuccessfully address the issue and they said they will do better the next time - really won't be a next time. The a la carte Italian restaurant was really lacking. Other than that the buffet was great, the view from the room was on point, the pool and beach were on point. The facility was always clean and maid services were awesome.

Truly excellent. The animation team was awesome!! Chocolate went above and beyond every single day to make the pool area as fun as it gets, El Culebro as well. Santo for breakfast was the sweetest and most helpful and Emmanuel at the pool bar was nothing but amazing. Great staff, amazing food options and top notch entertainment.

Went on a cruise excursion to this beautiful resort. Only there for about 5 hours. The pool is huge with swim up bar as well as kiddie pool which a host kept organized play with all the kids. surrounding gardens seem serene. With a few ponds. Turtle pool....it was awesome.

I had an amazing experience in this hotel, the service and the staff are EXCELLENT! They treated us as Family. The only thing that is bad is the cocktails and the food, for a 5 star hotel it shouldn’t be that bad. There are some days that the food/cocktails is good but most of the time it isn’t. Even though the food and cocktails can be a lot better, I will definitely come back just because the service and staff are AMAZING!

The entertainment staff are all great! Always joking around and fun to talk to. Food is good with lots of variety and they change up the supper theme every night so you can always have different foods.

The staff was great! Everyone was very attentive and willing to help! The spa was lovely! Highly recommend getting a massage while there! We had a slight issue with the drain in our our room, but over all it was an enjoyable weekend!

It has been one month since leaving Iberostar Costa Dorada, and I remember it like it was just yesterday. The stay has left me with a memories that will last a lifetime. If you like music, entertainment, good food, and fun vibes I highly recommend this all inclusive resort. The hotel room was clean, open, and modern feeling whilst still feeling tropical. We also enjoyed the balcony — private! We felt that the food was delicious no matter the time of day. There was a tasty selection everyday; from seafood to meats, from grains to soups, and desserts galore. It was pleasant to sit at the edge of the pavillion looking out at the landscape as I ate. I made sure to take it all in every meal. The icing on it all was the staff! The staff is a well organized organism — kudos. Everyone was pleasant, sociable, and inclusive. Special thanks to the entertainment staff (Star Friends) for making the overall atmosphere fun with activities, banter, and charm — especially Chocolaté for encouraging me to partake at events, and Cappuccino for the catchphrases. My partner and I still say "Security" and "Roar". It was a swell time, and I would recommend booking a stay!

We spent a day here for a cruise excursion so unfortunately we have no room experience but this resort was gorgeous. It was clean, staff was friendly, food and drinks were good. I loved the amount of space we had to choose where we'd be hanging out for the day! The pool is HUGE and very kid-friendly. Overall we had a great time here.

I'd say it's a 5-star resort in that it pretty well covers all the bases - but the best parts are definitely the staff and the location. The sales people at the Beach and that set up sometimes throughout the resort can be kinda pushy. Drinks are great, lots of options and not waiting around too much. Locals are in Friday night, Saturday, and most of the day Sunday, but mostly because of the off-season I think. There's Entertainment every night and it's pretty good, live shows and crowd interaction and themes every night. Lots of singers and dancers throughout as well. Plenty of options for activities, though they only had 1 volleyball. Overall it was the staff that made it great - they're really helpful and try to make your experience enjoyable, especially a few select ones. The views at the beach are amazing and there's plenty of chairs and space. Would definitely come here again!

Beach access was great. Rooms were clean and very well-kept could use a bit of updating to the decor. Staff were friendly. Lots of entertainment options during the day however ages 13-17 are a little restricted in what they can participate in. There always was a great selection for food options. The Japanese alacarte was by far our favourite of the three provided. We loved the outdoor-indoor living with open air everywhere. Late night entertainment was also a big hit!

This is my first trip down south and the food is wonderful! Drinks are always good! Anyone going on a family trip, I recommend:) if you’re interested in archery, coconut throwing and ping pong tournaments, this is the place for you! A man named Vanilla helped use out and I couldn’t ask for a better host!!

Great stay at this hotel in June 2023. Food is simple yet delicious, the buffet restaurant offers a great selection of meat, veal and fish. I wish the kitchen staff added a bit more vegetable options. Drinks were good as well, many well-known brands of spirits and liquors are available at the bars. Wine and champagne (I tried red, white and sparkling) are decent. The hotel grounds and garden are very well maintained and decorated. I liked the attention to detail in almost every corner. I stayed in an ocean view room and it was clean and everything worked fine. The only downside to this trip is that the hotel was a bit crowded with local tourists, they were often cutting in lines at the bars and restaurants and the staff seemed to give them the priority.

I just came back from vacation and I have to say it was super relaxing and cozy to stay at this resort. It felt like home there but with a lot of people taking care of you and making sure you are comfortable and have everything you need and even more. The food is delicious and fits the all family's different tastes. SPA is wonderful, I couldn't be happier to have a massage with Gomes a couple of times, And they have their own swimming pool which I didn't chance to use, but it looked like a very special spot to relax after your massage procedure. Also, I was extremely satisfied with the animation at Star camp for my son. All staff was so helpful. My special Thank you to Carolina, she became my son's best friend during our stay. She is amazing and super fun for kids playing an endless amount of games and running a mini disco every night! Thank you very much, I would love to come back one day with my son and spend another beautiful week in the haven!

Went to celebrate my birthday! My mom and I had the best time! The staff was amazing, food was good and everything was safe and clean. We had a minor ant problem, but the hotel quickly took care of that. Wifi all through the hotel and rooms. Again, we thank the staff for the amazing stay. Definitely a 5 star experience, we can’t wait to go back!

The entertainment, particularly Chocolate is a bright spot of staying at Iberostar. Chocolate is always running different types of games and you can win free bottles of Dominican rum! There’s never a dull moment here thanks to you Chocolate!

Booked this hotel to celebrate my moms birthday. Staff was very welcoming! Willy from the beginning to the end of our stay was very helpful and made us feel like family always greeting us with a smile and laughter. Also need to send a big thank you to the best entertainment staff, especially Darling! He was very friendly and was always keeping us laughing and having a good time. The hotel is a bit small and rooms are dated but the staff is what makes this hotel special! Would love to come back in the future

The Resort is amazing. The pool and amenities are fantastic - definitely one of the best outdoor areas in a resort that I have ever visited. The staff are extremely hard working and homely, they are all so hardworking and help us with a smile on their faces. Special shout-out to Chocolate and Jesus who went that extra mile to make sure my family and I were enjoying our stay until the very end. If I come to Dominican again - it will be at this resort. And for anyone interested in visiting this beautiful country, I suggest giving Iberostar Costa Dorada a good consideration. Thank you all!

April 2022 we are leaving today and I enjoyed a lot my three last days. I loved the activities on the beach. I loved the Japanese restaurant, less the two others. See our Chef in the video. He is amazing. In general, was getting to a 5 stars (in my view). The food was better too. Perhaps a bit more motivation from the employees. A big difference between the time we arrived and today. Big improvement. Like everything except maybe a bit of improvement with the food. But in general its good

My stay has been interesting. The rooms have to be update they are pretty old our room 9013 and the food is cold at times. But the staff are amazing. What made my trip was the positive attitude they have chocolate is one of the staff that are really nice.

A great result. The ground are well groomed and very clean. Pool is huge with a decent sized swim up bar. Three specialty restaurants...reservations were easy to get. The food is excellent quality with many choices. Lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. The staff are all amazing people. Friendly and polite. Only complaint is a lack of enforcement of dress code at specialty restaurants. Takes away a bit of the class of these restaurants.

Chocolate makes the resort fun! The show is very nice, the Japanese spot is probably my favourite. Overall the food is great. I’m definitely going to come back in the future, just to remind you chocolate makes the trip 2x better

Great resort. Good food and entertainment. Nice well kept property. The rooms were nice. Staff very nice and attentive. Meals and drinks were very good. Only two issues, check in time was an eternity. Also the shower floods the whole shower and bathroom. Minor issues compared to all the wonderful things about this resort.

This is my second time at this hotel and this time the experience was not so great. I booked two rooms this time because I came with extra family. We had connecting rooms which was great, however once I go open my room door the door would not open, we had to wait for someone to come and open the door same night our air conditioner broke at 230am we had to change rooms due to the heat in the room. (I have two kids and we had to carry them across the hall to the new room at 230am) next morning they were unable to fix the air conditioner so we had to switch back to the room we slept in the night before. (We were upset we had to separate from the family.) Then our key card would not work in the new room we had to walk up to the front desk 4 times they kept giving us excuses that the key was to close to the phone. The rooms are outdated our bathroom had so much humidity that there were always water drops falling. The only reason I give it a 3 it’s because the employee were all great. If there was a sections just for employees they would get a 5. We were taken care by Maria and she’s was amazing with us and did her best to make sure we were happy. But of course room issues has nothing to do with employees.

I am leaving this review on behalf of my parents that visited the resort last weekend. The weekend getaway was a birthday gift for our Mom. The check in process was super easy. I did everything via their website Horizons and when my parents arrived their room keys were ready and they just had to provide their physical passports. The rooms have been refurbished and are in wonderful condition. Everything was clean and organized. The ac which was my Dad's main concern was freezing cold like an icebox. They had 4 days at the resort and enjoyed 3 nights at the speciality restaurants. The food was amazing and no complaints from my Mom, whom is a cook expert, and she absolutely loved everything. She most especially enjoyed the desserts, the flan was on point. They enjoyed all the night shows and how entertaining they were. They loved every aspect of the resort and enjoyed every minute of it.

This resort maybe not a 5 star but very close to it. The hotel is a little outdated but they keep it very clean and everything worked well. There was a food issue for couple of days. I can see this as human error because the rest of the time the food was good. Two of three restaurants that was open were very good. The bars were fine and selection was good. The beach is very good very clean and the swimming area (small area) with no rocks. The most important thing for us was a service. And it exceeded our expectation. ****** The people are very very nice and friendly. Entertainment is not the greatest. (same thing every day) . Overall highly recommended.

Service was good. Rooms were clean. Housekeeping did a good job. Food at the a la carte restaurants was 👍 you can see the employees work hard to maintain the grounds and facilities. Lots of lounge chairs on the beach and the pool. Hydrotherapy at the spa was nice. They could spend more on entertainment and have more variety. It got kinda boring, especially from seeing other hotel guests sing or perform.

I want to modify my review. The hotel reached out to us and made sure we knew they acknowledged our frustration (we waited for 45 minutes to check-in). They mentioned that it was sudden, and usually the check-in process doesn't take so long. They gave us complimentary massages and also bottle service to our room. The customer service we had was exceptional. My rating went from 1 to 5 immediately. I will say they are a five star hotel- the only thing that held us back was the check-in process but other than that we had a blast at the resort. The food was exceptional, the entertainment was amazing and kept us amused, the staff and employees were on top of their service. They consistently checked in with us to make sure we were accommodated. I appreciate the urgency in making sure our voices were heard. Thank you Iberostar for a great ending and changing our perception of the resort.

Food is great! Activities were so much fun! Activity staff were a blast! Always laughing. Room was clean, but had a very musty smell. View from back of building 3 not great, but we didn’t spend much time in our room. Saw many other rooms that were excellent though. We were big group of 19. Resort is Not too big, so we could always find each other. Wifi worked great. Lots of fun excursions.

The service was great. Genesis welcomed us on the first day and even at our third day, she has gone out of her way to help us get reservations and remembers our party. She is wonderful and the staff is very interactive. Karaoke was great as well.

Really enjoyed our time at this resort! We stayed for 7 days. Our ocean view room was lovely, the resort is very well kept and clean. The beach is nice, drinks and food are good. The staff is amazing. So personable and fun Pikachu is wonderful on the activity staff.

This place was truly a dream. We met Genesis on the first day and she made our vacation amazing!! All of the staff were so friendly and helpful, but Genesis really went above and beyond to help make our vacation special. If you get a chance to go, you must try to seek her out so she can make your trip all the better as well!
