My
partner
and
I
stayed
at
Casa
Colonial
for
4
nights
during
NYE
2022,
which
one
would
consider
peak
of
peak
$$$
season
(+$700
incl
fees/tax
per
night
for
a
tropical
junior
suite).
I
am
shocked
this
hotel
is
considered
5
stars.
It
was
a
very
mediocre
and
disappointing
stay.
CONS
-terrible,
slow,
not
trusted
and
untrained
service
staff.
-no
cleanliness
maintained
throughout
the
property
during
tday,
resulting
in
pests.
-beach
night
club
next
door
plays
LOUD
music
until
3am,
every
night.
-Lucia,
the
restaurant,
is
average
at
best.
PROS
-great
housekeeping
staff
for
rooms
-good
complimentary
breakfast
-we
had
a
good
experience
at
the
spa
for
a
couples
massage.
**The
service
was
awful
and
none
existent….
Once
you
do
manage
to
flag
staff
down
to
place
an
order,
most
were
very
slow
and
rude.
I’ll
never
forget
a
woman
on
service
at
the
pool
rolled
her
eyes
at
me
for
requesting
a
menu
(which
she
had
just
done
for
the
couple
next
to
us)
and
then
minutes
later
when
we
were
leaving
because
we
were
so
taken
aback,
she
shouted
at
my
BF
and
I
to
take
our
pool
towels
from
the
chairs
(there
wasn’t
even
a
dedicated
place
to
put
used
towels
when
leaving).
Service
was
very
short
staffed
and
they
did
everything
-
from
bartending,
busing,
and
dinner
service
-
even
if
they
were
not
trained
in
the
dept.
This
caused
a
lot
of
confusion
as
they
were
not
educated
on
the
menu
(for
*nice*
NYE
dinner)
and
made
terrible
drinks.
There
was
a
significant
language
barrier
-
very
few
staff
spoke
any
English…
Resulting
in
more
difficulties
and
errors/burdens
for
the
English
speaking
guests.
We
learned
we
were
being
incorrectly
charged
for
food/drink
to
our
room.
Staff
would
charge
us
for
items
we
didn’t
order,
or
for
4
instead
of
2
beers
-
which
was
really
sketchy
and
seemed
purposeful,
not
because
of
an
innocent
mistake
like
the
language
barrier.
After
discovering
this,
we
began
to
request
to
view
every
bill
and
take
photos
of
each.
There
are
no
bars
throughout
the
property
other
than
in
the
lobby,
so
you
cannot
walk
up
to
place
an
order
if
you
could
not
find
a
waiter.
Making
it
so
you
relied
completely
on
service
staff.
**the
hotel
was
not
maintained
throughout
the
day…
no
empty
drinks
or
messes
were
cleaned
up.
This
was
rather
gross
as
I
will
never
forget
the
memory
of
realizing
there
were
dozens
of
ants
migrating
into
my
drink
because
of
a
child’s
spilled
cereal
on
the
other
side
of
the
side
table
that
attracted
the
ants
to
begin
with.
Of
course,
my
drink
was
not
comped
as
service
staff
could
not
be
bothered.
There
was
always
an
odor
or
trash
at
the
pool…
I
realized
it
was
because
there
was
a
mound
of
hot
trash
bins
right
below.
The
beach
was
not
combed
or
maintained.
Chairs
were
scattered
everywhere.
Because
of
the
lack
of
cleanliness
throughout
the
property,
the
hotel
seemed
nothing
like
the
photos
and
was
unenjoyable.
**there
is
a
club
next
door
on
the
beach
that
plays
insanely
loud
music
until
3am
every
night….
Because
of
this
reason
we
were
actually
glad
we
were
staying
in
the
garden
area
(despite
paying
ocean
view
prices).
The
insane
music
and
loud
base
was
so
ridiculous
that
it
was
laughable
for
guests
not
staying
on
the
beach
or
that
can
sleep
through
noise.
I’m
convinced
someone
that
dislikes
the
owner
purposely
purchased
the
land
next
door
to
do
this
to
troll
the
owner
or
something,
because
there
was
ZERO
customers
at
the
club
every
night.
**the
restaurant
named
Lucia
that
many
go
to
for
dinner
is
not
great
or
good,
just
average…
the
food
selection
did
not
offer
alternatives
and
the
items
were
just
okay.
We
had
dinner
at
Lucia
for
the
prix
fixe
NYE
dinner…We
made
our
reservation
for
a
seating
time
with
the
lead
concierge
at
the
resort,
which
he
even
wrote
down
for
us.
When
we
arrived
the
host
told
us
that
our
reservation
was
for
a
seating
90
minutes
later.
To
accommodate
us,
she
put
us
in
a
corner
of
a
room
that
was
hosting
a
private
dinner.
So
awkward
and
we
received
no
service
since
the
servers
were
focused
on
the
20+
guests
@
main
table.
