Great place to enjoy a Cigar. When you go to Vivonte you can find: a good customer service, honest prices, a tour, Mamajuana and coffee for free. You also can enjoy the music and the culture about Pierto Plata. They also give you the honest information about how to move around Puerto Plata and where are the honest Taxis driver.

Found via google upon per cruise stop at Tainto Bay. Hired a taxi and specified Vivonte as cabs will try to take you to "their" place. Went in and met Julio who took us into the humidor and asked our preferences in cigars. We were then escorted to the second floor where we were given a tour of the aging room and were given cigars of our preference to light for the rest of the tour. We then saw the production room where all the steps of cigar making were explained and demonstrated in front of us by their staff. My wife was then allowed to roll her own cigar! We went back downstairs and had some excellent coffee from their bar. We also met and spent an enjoyable afternoon with Glen discussing all things relevant to the world. We wrapped the experience with a healthy bounty of their amazing handrolled cigars. What I thought would be a quick cigar shop stop turned into an amazing vacation experience and we can't thank Glen, Julio and the rest of the staff enough!

We found this cigar factory tour on the Viator tours website in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. I really wanted to take my husband on the tour as he is a cigar enthusiast. Vivonte Cigars provided an exceptional tour experience. We had a very nice driver Jonathan pick us up from the port and took us to the factory. We were greeted by employees and offered delicious fresh brewed delicious coffee. Glenn the owner met us and started us off with our own cigar! Glenn was very friendly and knowledgeable about the cigar industry. He shared with us the history on the plantations, seed origins, process of drying, blending, aging, storing, the humidor room and the rolling room. This was a very personable experience and we absolutely loved it. I have never smoked anything in my entire life and I honestly enjoyed the cigar Glenn recommended so much that I smoked the whole thing! The cigars are all hand rolled with the best top quality leaves! We learned a few great tips as well. This was such a fun and educational tour! We enjoyed our time with Glenn so much and hope to stay in touch and get back there again. I would urge anyone whether smoker or not to go on this specific tour. This is a smaller operation but THE BEST hand rolled cigars you are going to find in the D.R. as they have so many quality control checks to insure these are an amazing smoking experience! You learn so much in a friendly and fun environment! We did purchase a collection of 24 hand picked cigars by Glenn which he carefully packaged for us to take back to the states. Great experience that has a mix of Dominican cigars with impressive humidor and they even let my 16 and 11 year old kids roll their first cigar! Priced similar to home with 25 cigars for $190. Great quality of cigars provided in a fitting box for safe travels.

Best CIGARS in the Dominican Republic & Best Atmosphere on the North Coast - "Vivonte Cigars" I have been going to Vivonte since the day that they opened (now almost 3 years and going strong) and it is always a great experience. They have the BEST CIGARS, as well as one of the most relaxing and enjoyable locations on the North Coast DR. Their brand ("Vivonte") is an incredible Cigar, you will never go wrong choosing their brand. But, they also have all of the other top Cigar brands from the DR available in their huge, beautiful humidor. Enjoy a great Cigar while watching your favorite sporting event/ game, listening to music, enjoying a drink, having a great meal, or just to catch up with friends in an air conditioned environment - "Vivonte" is the best place to be. Everyone I know who has been there has had a great time and a similar experience. I recommend it to everyone I know who lives in the area or who visits the North Coast.

We found Vivonte via Viator and ended up just communicating with the owner Glenn. He was so helpful and had great communication, we got to chat with him a little while we were there too. We were able to get a better deal with him. He offered transportation to and from the port but we ended up walking (15-20min) so we could sightsee and hit up the umbrella and pink street on the way back. Our guide was Julio. He was absolutely phenomenal!! We can’t say enough good things about him and the experience he delivered for us. He’s very knowledgeable and definitely has a passion for cigars. We learned a lot! It was a very thorough and not a rushed tour. We were the only ones there for the tour at that time so it was nice to be one on one. My husband and I each got a cigar included in our tour that we smoked there. And then I got to roll one myself and they packaged up for me to bring home. It was amazing! The one my husband was smoking there, he got about 3/4 the was through and Julio didn’t like how it was burning (not evenly, that can happen sometimes, he discussed it with his team as to what happened with that one so it wouldn’t happen again) so he got him another one on the house. Talk about customer service!! Then we went to the bar downstairs and he gave us a couple of complimentary tastings of some local liquor and we sat had a beer with him and the bartender. It was a wonderful experience! They run a wonderful business and it’s also a very nice building! Thank you for treating so well, we will be back!

Beyond amazing! Glen is the best at what he does, & that's making guest feel welcome & making a fantastic cigar. You can tell within 10 minutes there that this is not just a business looking to make a quick buck, but more of a labor of love for him. I truly appreciate a small business that make a great quality product & he nailed it. I've been enjoying what I thought were good cigars for over 40 yrs.....until today's visit. He seriously set my standards to a whole new level. Forget the guy's around the block & spend your time and money here. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a lot of time to spend there, so couldn’t have a tour of the factory. I just decided to blind buy a bundle of Medium robustos and a few extra cigars to sample. So far I tried two of them, and they are truly great, specifically the selection 12, which was exceptional. The price was good, and I felt very welcome, so I would definitely recommend this place to all cigar aficionados.

Glen was a wonderful host who was willing to open his doors on a Sunday to chat with a few strangers over a cigar. He has a wealth of knowledge and it was wonderful to spend our afternoon chatting about the world and the intricacies of cigar crafting.

I am a novice to cigars but do love to have one when offered. The proprietor was an excellent gentleman and we had a wonderful tour of the factory while smoking a hand picked cigar to our tastes bookmarked by some excellent chat in the comfy lounge. I enjoyed a couple of rums and a whisky (Collingwood - very good). All of the staff and the manager were excellent and would highly recommend a visit. You can buy cigars there after your visit or ask about potential shipping options.

I really like this place! I took a taxi here with a friend to unwind and have a cigar. When we walked in the owner started telling us all about his cigars and gave us an awesome tour of the place. It was really cool going through the complete lifecycle of the tobacco and the rolling process, from seed to cigar. The prices here are established so if you do not like to haggle this is a great place to shop. We were introduced to Brugal Leyenda Rum which went so well with their cigars. I will be stopping here again on my next trip to Puerto Plata.

Glen takes great care in his craft of producing an excellent cigar. Try a number 12 or 13. You'll be hard pressed not to take some home. Highly recommended.

Julio gave a wonderful tour! We just walked in and Julio offered to show us the factory. The cigars are great - we took 8 home! Impressed by Julio’s knowledge of where the tobacco seeds are from, where they are planted and how they are harvested. Would definitely recommend!

We traveled to Sosua, Dominican Republic, and a friend mentioned that the DR is known for their cigars. So, I googled cigars and found this amazing place in Puerta Plata. This city is beautiful, but the cigar shop is out of this world. Julio was our tour guide and was fabulous! Yadira poured our drinks after the tour and did a great job. I absolutely loved the tour and the cigar I smoked was amazing. I came back to the US with a box of cigars. We met the owner, Glenn, who is a class act. I recommend visiting this place and enjoying the tour and awesome cigars. I will definitely be back.
