Beautiful place to eat and enjoy drinks in a great environment. It’s within the current the high-demand area in Puerto Plata and a sound option to enjoy some time in the open space with good food menu and diverse cocktail options. The service is coming up to pace and the food could have arrived sooner. Would visit again for sure and you can go and explore on your one.

Casa40 is a beautiful restaurant in downtown Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. Nice selection of food and drinks, warm reception from the art gallery entrance. Great selection and friendly prices. From 🇰🇪

Great bistro! It was clean, vibrant, fun, had eclectic upcycled furniture, and a wonderful patio! We had chicken quesadillas and yuka fries that were great, and my pina colada was the best one that I have had in a number of years. The waiter was very friendly and extremely helpful. Highly recommend for a casual meal/drink. Added bonus is the art gallery in the front!

Nice down to earth place but the food could be better. We had the fritters platter which was sort of mystery ingredients and was soaked in grease with sauces which really didn’t have ny taste at all so I would not recommend that, my son had grilled chicken with fries which he enjoyed, my daughter had a typical burger which was really tasty as well and my mom had a steamed vegetable platter with 6 slices of zucchini and 3 small pieces of red peppers. Not worth it at all. She also had grilled chicken with yuca fries. They really need to work on their sauces and broaden the menu as well. The ambience was ok for the daytime. I’m pretty sure that probably at night things are livelier.

Nice place to sit, relax and enjoy some food in a patio. I had little plantain baskets with cheese -delicious and fairly priced. The interiors are also pretty & you can feel they have put lots of effort in making the place unique.

The mindset behind this cool place is what made me make a double take. The idea of reducing plastic use to almost Zero within the business is what gives Casa 40 a unique touch.( Every business on this island needs to pay attention here) All their drinking glasses are made of old cutdown wine bottles and straws are only given if asked for. Even then, those are either metal or paper. The owners have really gone to great lengths to keep this place centered, grounded and open to all walks of life. Lovely artwork by local artists drape the walls of this bohemian vibe inspired historical building turned restaurant/ bar. What these ladies have done here is magnificent. I applaud you both. (They accept Credit Cards as well which for many travelers is a bit of a life saver when cash is running low)

Worst service we waited 2 hours for our food. We were a party of 9. Waitress took our order and left without taking the last two orders. Brings half of the orders and gave the wrong order to the wrong person since some order similar orders. Then the other orders we never received. The order that did come out, the burger was burnt and the vegetable al grill was more Sautee vegetables with just oil. The worst experience. The worst part is that it looks like they had a Jazz event and didn't have the adequate number of Staff on hand. As we were leaving we notice all the order missing on the kitchen counter waiting to be taken to us. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PLACE.

Nachos were absolutely incredible, so delicious we ordered another one. Rice and beans with chicken and a salad was so fresh and tasty. empanadas were hot and delicious. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about their menu. Highly recommend sitting outside when visiting

This is a cool place. I’ve been 3 times recently. On Monday 2/6, the food was OUTSTANDING. Yesterday on the weekend, the exact same chicken salad was SUPER salty. Definitely a different chef. Same story with the quesadilla.

Marvelous place and delicious food in the city centre. Vegetarian meals on the menu. Authentic place with some art gallery.

A friendly salesman from the cigar shop brought us to this incredible hideaway. We were dying for a proper mojito and this spot did not disappoint! We enjoyed the atmosphere of this hidden gem, however the food and drink were absolutely sublime. The bartender was attentive and friendly, after a couple rounds we did not want to leave!

Excellent, very comfortable environment clean and friendly staff and some speak English. Pricing was fair, portions were good and the drinks were a good pour. Went there for Father's Day (my day). Did the Umbrella St location prior for a coffee, which was 3 types of chocolate and they recommended it for brunch. If I have time I'll go for dinner.

If you are going to visit Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic then you might as well do it right. Casa 40 is one of my favorite restaurants. In my opinion they really capture the atmosphere anyone can enjoy. When it comes to food, you can really apreciate the French influence that goes into some dishes. For those who enjoy the simpler things in life a beer and burger go a long way. There is no chance you'll go hungry here or leave dissatisfied. Tropical drinks, delicious food and friendly staff in paradise. Not much more needed in my opinion. Not to mention they are right in the heart of Puerto Plata and a short distance from the cruise terminal.

This is a great place to check out. Very peaceful. Excellent service. Food was very good. I happened to go a night there was live music, which made my meal more enjoyable. Only thing I didn’t like were the cats that were around constantly begging for food and jumping up on chairs.
