It has been a while since I have been in Cabarete and Happy Family wasn’t around back then. I saw it had great reviews, a presence on social media and the menu looked awesome. The first time I went it was raining and I only had the fish soup. It was everything I hoped for and more. It was comforting for the weather and made to order. I stopped in again because I have been wanting lambí since I returned and I’m glad I chose Happy Family to get it from. I ordered it al ajillo and it was so delicious, came with a side ( I chose tostones ) and a little salad. The owners are a local family, are very friendly, accommodating and have great service- something hard to find around here lol I will 100% be going back again before I leave. If you’re visiting Cabarete- this is definitely one place to try! And if you live here and haven’t gone yet, go!! :)

The absolute best restaurant in Cabarete!!!! We wanted to try local cuisine because the food at the resort was below par. So glad we ventured out. We were instantly drawn to Happy Family Restaurant because of the bright, festive yellow decor. Everything we order was fantastic. We went back on our final night. The chicken wings.........finger licking good. The natural juice.....fresh! I don't know what they use, but don't let the run down appearance fool you; Papi can throw down. The picture below totaled just $29. MUY BIEN.

the food was not good. too over salted and ridiculously overprized for the quality of ambient. for this kind of money you can get really delicious food around here in top notch restaurant. the waitress was unpleasant. there's no water on the toilet. completely bad experience.

Super cute family friendly place, short walking distance from Wyndham resort. The prices are super affordable and the food easily appeals to children. We had fried chicken, plantain and Yuka as well as chicken croquettes and everything was excellent! The staff was super friendly and helpful too :) there was definitely a bit of a wait for the food, but it was worth it for the quality! Highly recommend 👌🏼 UPDATE***** Came back here on our last day and tried their Mofongo dish! We got the Shrimp and Chicharron one and they are both delicious!

If you go on the weekend, ask for the pizza menu. They make the crusts from mashed yuccas, which creates a thin and crunchy base for the pizza. The toppings were fresh and flavorful too. We got the ham, pepperoni, and veggie version that was super yummy! We split it along with the carbonara pasta, which was pretty good too. I can’t remember the total price for our meal and beers, but it was super affordable. We made a good impression on our server because she brought us some shots of MamaJuana on the house!

Sancocho was good. But they got my order wrong. No plantain. The rice was not throughly cooked, a bit hard. The tamarindo juice was super sweet.

This local food joint is awesome!!! Good selection of local Dominican flavors…mofongo, goat, chicken in cream sauce, etc…all at reasonable prices. We fed a family of 4 with drinks(2 Spirtes 3 Coronas) for $2780 Dom Pesos(<$50US). The people were very friendly and we didn’t have to wait that long.

A very kind, lovely and family atmosphere and service. They offer local cuisine as well as pasta etc. My partner got a traditional Mofongo. I am vegetarian and they were happy to make a vegetarian Mofongo for me which was very tasty. Would recommend to go there if you can!

My favourite Dominican restaurant in Cabarete. They offer a mix of Italian, Dominican, Meat and fish meals and all is fantastic with fair pricing. Located on the corner of the callejon, it's an authentic atmosphere and the family dog is a great addition. Love this place.

I ordered food into Procab, it came quickly and it was amazing. Usually fries get all soggy in take out containers, but not these. Burger was also 10/10
