For the most authentic cuisine of Cadiz, and the most local experience -- as local as local gets -- you must come to Casa Pepe! Nary a word of English is spoken here, but so what? Man up and download Google Translate or bring me for translation services (I charge a meal). The inside is small and crowded but the Guisos are worth it! Try the Guiso de chocos y patatas (Squid and Potato Soup) as it literally made me shed years of joy. You must also get the Almejas Marinero (Sailor's Clams) and Gambas al Ajillo (Prawns with Garlic Sauce). If you're feeling particularly adventurous, try the Ortiguillas Fritas (Fried Sea Anemones). These dishes will allow you to experience a typical Cadiz meal of Guisos y fritos (stews and fried food). Do yourself a favor and eat here.

We were planning on going to La Manteca which is actually shut for all of November. We found this place when looking for somewhere nearby and were so happy to end up here! All the tapas were really tasty and very good value for money. The service was quick and efficient. Would definitely recommend!

Want to eat with the locals?? This is certainly one of those places. A wide variety of options with something for everyone. Nervous about the language barrier? Just point at the next good looking dish to come out of the kitchen. You wont be disappointed. Space is limited, so get there early.

On our first try we couldn't get a place because it was full with people. We tried the next day again earlier at around noon, got a table alongside locals and tried the stews. The stews were amazing!!!

We sat at the bar, friendly staff, fantastic food. Fried anchovies(perfect) meatballs were awesome, and the shrimp tempura to die for.

Cheap, good, fun, a bit crowded, but friendly staff. And best of all, easy going and relaxed atmosphere. A place full of locals, it seemed like.

If you want to try real “tapas” in Cadiz for really cheap prices, this is the right place. You can choose between many typical meals and you will be always satisfied. Personnel very very kind. Only con, there is very few space for sitting.

Went at a very busy time so very chaotic and hard to get a table - but the food is absolutely worth the wait! Especially the garlic shrimp!

They have so much great food on offer, but my favorite was the cazón (sand shark) and the choco (cuttlefish). I'm always trying to find great fried seafood for my New-Orleans-born spouse, and this place is choice! ¡Rico, rico, rico!
