I
would've
stayed
somewhere
in
Puerto
Vallarta
if
I
were
to
do
the
trip
over
again.
For
one,
the
check-in
process
felt
somewhat
grueling.
It
took
a
while
and
our
rooms
weren't
ready
even
though
we
checked
in
around
6
PM.
After
the
check-in
process
was
finished,
we
figured
we
would
find
somewhere
to
eat
while
waiting
for
access
to
our
rooms.
However,
we
were
quickly
stopped
by
someone
trying
to
schedule
us
for
a
three-hour
presentation
the
following
morning
regarding
a
Vidanta
membership.
We
were
tired
and
hungry
from
travel
and
kept
saying
"no"
but
he
was
very
persistent
and
said
we
"had"
to
schedule
it.
Eventually,
we
were
able
to
deny
the
presentation,
but
people
try
to
sell
you
tours
and
such
throughout
the
stay.
Furthermore,
the
place
is
huge.
Just
leaving
the
hotel
can
take
around
20
minutes
or
more.
You
will
have
to
walk
or
catch
a
shuttle
from
your
hotel
to
the
taxi
stand,
then
it
takes
a
while
to
actually
leave
the
large
Vidanta
property.
There
are
really
no
upsides
to
how
big
it
is
though,
because
there
are
unspoken
rules
designating
each
area
for
certain
guests.
For
example,
we
were
told
the
lazy
river
is
only
for
members
of
the
Grand
Mayan.
The
pool
nearby
is
also
for
Grand
Mayan
guests,
which
is
unfortunate
because
it
is
the
only
cool,
refreshing
pool
on
the
premises.
Even
the
nice,
shaded
palapas
on
the
beach
are
reserved
for
members
of
the
Grand
Mayan.
We
were
kicked
out
of
these
as
well,
even
though
designations
are
not
clearly
indicated
anywhere.
There
are
a
lot
of
unspoken
rules
that
made
the
stay
annoying.
This
is
not
to
mention
the
extremely
corny
and
expensive
fourth
of
July
party
complete
with
an
uncle
sam
on
stilts
where
they
couldn't
manage
to
seat
our
party
of
8
together,
even
though
there
were
open
tables
everywhere.
The
premises
are
beautiful,
but
I
wouldn't
stay
here
again.
