The service is ok but the drinks are always good and the staff is really friendly. It is a fun place to stop, grab a cocktail and do a little people watching

We absolutely LOVED Bar La Playa. We went on a Monday night around 8pm before our 9:45pm dinner reservation and wished we could have stayed all night. It was pretty busy but we managed to score two seats right at the bar. The drinks were absolutely incredible. Each one was crafted by hand with so much detail is was astounding. I had the Mexican Mule and watched the bartender chop fresh ginger right in front of me for my drink. The bartenders were absolutely the best, so so lovely and definitely the main contributor to the easy going, fun atmosphere. Would absolutely return again in a heartbeat, definitely one of our favourite places we visited in PV. If you can try and sit at the bar so you can watch them make the drinks!

Best bar in PV. Paola and Lucy are warm, friendly, absolutely fantastic bartenders who befriended us and made us feel like family. Cannot say enough good things about them!!!! We went back every day of our trip to hang out with them and to have the b e s t drinks. The Quetzal cocktail is the best thing I have ever tasted.

Popped in for a quick cocktail as it was recommended by friends from Calgary. It did not disappoint. Their list is fantastic and we wished we were not so tired from our day and could stay for more. Well balanced craft cocktails made with fresh fruit. We will be stopping in many more times on this trip and the next and the next.

Best cocktails in PV — hands down. The menu is pretty expansive, but the effort and craft they put into your drink shows through the taste. Firstly, this place is pretty small, but has awesome vibes. Great music and even better service. The waitress/bartender spoke near perfect English and the other bartender made awesome drinks. He even gave me an awesome recommendation to go buy unique, sipping tequila you won’t find in local or international stores (Agave Liquors). We had the margarita, La playa, Mexican mule, old fashioned, and a sipping tequila - Clase Azul Reposado. My favorite were the Clase Azul Reposado and Mexican mule. I wanted to try the Clase Azul before I bought it to take it back home — so glad I did because I was on the fence and convinced I’m going to take one back. Mexican mule was so refreshing. The other drinks were all good too — just liked the Mexican mule the best :) Highly recommend this spot!

Small bar that makes unique cocktails. All their drinks are delicious and something new to try for your tastebuds. Also ask for their watermelon shots. Amazing staff and nice outdoor seating.

Bar La Playa had a great vibe and friendly staff. Most impressive was their selection of non alcoholic drinks. Such treat to be able to enjoy a delicious fancy beverage. Seriously exceptional mocktails are a rare find. Priced at $60 pesos, all handmade with fresh ingredients. We will most definitely revisit Bar La Playa again and again. Our Saturday market day routine just got leveled up. Cheers!

Service can be a little slow but I’ve come back twice because the margaritas are really good and when you get service they are really awesome people. Got some great recommendations from them and had great experiences both times. Also the people who come drink here are also friendly and I’ve met a lot of folks hanging out here. Awesome little spot in the tourist zone but drinks are half the price and 100% better than nearby restaurants. Gracias, bar la playa! Ps- great place to people watch too.

Fabulous little cocktail bar! Very friendly and fun! Met lots of lovely people from around the world and the staff is amazing. And they are artists!

Very nice little stop at the end of the Malecon. Drinks are more of the artisan variety- little more upscale and fancy if you will. But oh so good! Seemed to be a lot of regulars/locals (expats) here, which is always a good sign. Will for sure be back on our next trip!

Enjoyed this bar a lot! Staff were very welcoming and helpful. I got the spicy jalapeño margarita and loved it. Cocktail prices were extremely fair compared to other restaurants we went to, ranging from 90-135 pesos. We enjoyed sitting outside on the small patio to people watch; they also an excellent music playlist!

I just found this place a couple of days ago and loved it! An adorable little bar in ZR. Lucy was working and she is a fantastic bartender. Sweet, smart, 100% bilingual, fun to talk to and makes a great margarita! She said the other bartenders are great too, but I will always look for her when I go by. Happy hour from 4-6. Margaritas were 45 pesos and they were great! Thanks for a great chat Lucy. I will see you again soon! 😘

Quintessential cozy, hip and delicious cocktail bar. Very cool vibe. The bartenders were young/fun and spoke perfect English. The cocktails were incredible and at an amazing price. Small and intimate/street side cocktail bar. Loved this experience.

We went to so many bars in Vallarta and Bar La Playa was one of our top five! The cocktails were delicious. For as busy as it was, we didn’t really expect good service, but we got great service.

I’ll get this out of the way up front—I’m biased here, but I’d like to think that in such matters of social interaction that’s an agreeable point. So let me get right to it. You walk into some drinking establishments and you just know. I mean you know that the joint will invite good conversations, interesting folks from here and there, people who are of a certain ilk. Strands cut from similar cloths, to use a phrase. Bar La Playa is this place. Everyone I met here—from the staff: Paula, Lucy, Edwardo, David, and Alex—to the patrons (names that get lost in rounds of mescal) was fantastic. Plus the drinks are great. Let me make it clear—this bar stays with you. Thank you guys for making my time in Puerto Vallarta memorable, even if it is a bit hazy… Much love, always.

Cool little bar half a block off the malecón in Zona Romántica. Bartenders make awesome cocktails. A favorite hangout for expats so expect many foreigners.

Love this little bar! Bar La Playa is such an authenticly friendly little bar located in the heart of the romantic zone in Puerto Vallarta. Staff is always friendly and often times you'll find the owner Alex working behind the bar. Great drinks and upbeat music. Very reasonable prices and plenty of friendly people to talk to. Probably the best bar is PV.

This is a great little bar with wonderful cocktails. I had a yummy Mexican mule and my husband had the Senorita..coconut water and vodka! Even their house margaritas and mojitos are great. Another fun thing to do is their mezcal tasting. Tasting choices of mezcal paired with different salts and grasshoppers. A true treat!

This is the best bar in puerto Vallarta if you’re looking for craft cocktails! And great prices ! And the staff are amazing all laid back and kind ! Must try !

The spicy margarita is the best I’ve had while wondering the streets of PV. Ambiance of the bar is super cute and the music selection modern and upbeat without being so loud you can’t have a conversation.
