Always comfortable & nice ambience. I’ve been coming here for years. A little has changed since the hurricane but they are back in business.

Nice quaint traditional Mexican restaurant right in front of the main church 1 block from the Malecon. The food, chicken and steak fajitas and drinks, horchata was delicious!! With great fast service!! They also have very affordable prices!! I loved it!! Highly recommended!!

We live in California, now celebrating our 18 years of marriage in Mexico. Everything is so colorful, the streets, its people, the drinks, the restaurants. First week we were in Puerto Vallarta. Walking through the center we hear the bells, we approach and find a majestic church with a bell tower. Also in a corner a very nice restaurant with people waiting to enter. Good sign. Within half an hour we were sitting inside looking at the menu. Happy to find a good place because it was our first night and we were pretty tired of waking up early to fly. My husband ordered 4 golden tacos, deep fried thick small tortilla with beans, pork and topped with cabbage mild sauce, sour cream & cheese. I ordered 5 flautas: Deep fried rolled up corn tortilla filled with chicken, topped with lettuce, mild sauce, sour cream and cheese. For drinks we choose water of the day: Jamaican Flavor. The staff is very helpful and friendly, since I know what they offer as a Mexican in California and this menu has dishes that I don't know, they helped me choose what to eat, it helps a lot that I speak Spanish. We come back in the same week , my hubby ordered the same and I try the Pozole with 3 meats for the first time. So good. If you want to try authentic Mexican food for a affordable price with a good vibe, this place is perfect. I highly recommend it.

Delicious , cheap food! You can’t go wrong here. Plus if you’re a vegetarian, most of the dishes can be made with potatoes or cheese instead of meat!

This is a nice little homey place. Staff are very friendly. They serve a refreshing glass of chilled Hibiscus water when we sat down which was a nice touch as we just came in from the heat. Lunch comes with soup and serve with salad rice and beans. The soup is tasty but a bit too much tortilla chips in it. We tried Beef Fajitas and Fish fillet with garlic. Food is nice…. Homely, not exceptional. Having said that the bill of 15 dollars for two lunch with two beers is great in the Malecon area.

Awesome for breakfast. They open at 9 am. Clean and airy with a menu that has something for everyone. The people were lovely. I had the chilaquiles with an egg and a cup of coffee.

Their food is unbelievably cheap and incredibly good at the same time. They have a small menu, but their dishes account for many amazing, authentic food. I came here so many times and everything remains consistently delicious and the staff being so welcoming all the time. Would definitely come back again!

It's probably the best restaurant in the cathedral area. You can't get flaming tequila or overpriced bland food, but you will get excellent authentic Mexican dishes. Very low-key family run and friendly service. Best birria tacos I had in PV.

We wandered off the Bayfront area, hoping to find a more local feel and value. Stumbled across this spot and weren't disappointed. They had a lunch special that was 95 pesos inclusive. Had the chicken fajitas and carne asada. Service was quick and attentive. Overall, good food and value. Definitely recommend.

Went here once and had an amazing experience. The food was amazing and service (two men) top notch. Came back a second time and the waitress wouldn’t even speak to us to seat us and acted very racist. Will gladly go somewhere else with my money from now on.

OK....so wandering around PV, we find this incredible spot to enjoy a quiet lunch. Everything, and I mean everything, about this place exceeded our expectations! Not presumptuous, simple decor, excellent service, and the food was indescribably delicious! The staff were very friendly. Nicholas, who took care of us, is a delightful human being who made us feel more than welcome. We look forward to returning to this "don't miss" eatery next time we are in PV.

Right in zone romantica, this restaurant offers yummy seafood options. I had happy our menu of 3 lobster tacos plus beer. Tacos were good. Had a seating right on the balcony facing street so I got people watch while dining in solo. Service was great too. Servers all spoke excellent English so I had help from them selecting what I wanted. I would go back for more tacos👍

We had a nice breakfast here. There is often a line to get in because it is so popular. The food was good. My only complaint is that it was delivered on the cool side. Perhaps the waiter didn't retrieve it quickly enough after it was plated.

For lunch: Stand at chain to be let in. pick which meat you want, and then prepare for excellence. The price was beyond reasonable for both the quality and quantity of food. I had the steak and wife had the fish. Both were fantastic. The soup of the day made me believe in soup as a worthwhile food, again. Afterwards, check out the gorgeous cathedral across the street.

The chain on the entrance deter me from coming in, I thought it was closed. After a few days later we decided to come back, chain still on at entrance but after trying to barge in for food, they were open, people were dining. We sat down. Their big cup is huge and worth the 50 pesos, for jamaica drink. The enchiladas were so good, different from the smothered kind. They were crispy on the outside a lot of chicken stuffed inside. The seasoning was on point. A little bit of slaw on top to garnish. Best enchiladas in town, forget the sauce, rice and beans. Lol

I don't usually give 5 stars to casual dining establishments but the Lopez family earned it here! Great place right accross the street from their beautiful church. Convenient for breakfast after mass. 40 years of recipes and consistency makes this place a must visit! We loved it so much after chile-quiles for breakfast that we came back several times for dinner as well... Posole, tamales, sope's, tacos, atole' enchiladas... all the standards crafted to perfection... I have eaten posole most of my life and theirs tops the charts! Oh... and did I mention affordable as well??? We plan to visit every time we are in PV... Thank you so much!!

There is a reason this restaurant has a line up every night. If you want really delicious Mexican fare, look no further than El Campanario. The service is fast and friendly, the restaurant is clean, but the food is really, really good.

This is a must stop! The food was excellent, and it was the best pozole we have had to date. Great prices and there was a fan for each table, which was much appreciated in the summer heat.

I have been coming over 30 years. I come for the food. Best tortas in Vallarta! Excellent chiliquiles. I also enjoy the comida corrida. Reasonable, authentic Mexican food.

Everything was very good and decently prices. The alote was a good drink ive never tried before. Just wish there was a beef option and the portions were slightly larger but very good tasting overall.

Homestyle/street-style Mexican food! Loved the authenticity of this diner and friendly staff. Everything is very affordable and tastes like at abuela’s house :) I recommend to try if you like to explore traditional local food. They accept credit card payments.

Love this place. Although they raised prices since last year (understandably), still inexpensive GREAT food in an awesome atmosphere with 90% locals here whenever I've eaten here.

I’d read about this reasonably priced family run place and it was. We went at 6 to get a table and there was plenty of staff for when the place filled up by the time we left. We ordered the platter because we wanted to sample a bit of everything on our first dinner in PV. The food was on the bland side and some things were better than others so we knew what we’d want to try again. The surprise was the discovery of alote a corn based mug of comfort similar to the rice based horchata.

Love this restaurant! The best tasting food in PV. Amazing prices and the food is of quality ingredients and is made with love. The waiters are super friendly and this place is always busy. Worth the wait to eat here and cheapest and best place in all of PV. True local Mexican food.

Great little place we took the parents. Love the set menu with choice of mains. Lots of food and great for the price!

I love this place for the rustic ambience. Pleas note they are closed for an hour at 12-1 while they switch from breakfast to lunch. The meal comes with a fruit water, tortillas, and a delicious vegetable soup. You choose your main from 6 or 7 items and it is served with rice, beans and greens. So it clicks along like clockwork.

Walked in for lunch, got both the pork and beef specials and they were delicious! The fresh fruit water of the day was guava and it hit the spot, very refreshing on a hot hot day.

Great local place for authentic home style Mexican cuisine. I suggest to try their posole with either pork or chicken. The prices are very reasonable and most locals eat here.

Definitely recommend! Home cooking ! Salsa was perfectly spicy. We had the El Plato Mexicano, Posole de Pollo, Tacos dorados de Papa and Shreeded Beef, Tamales de Pollo y costilla. Food was great, place was clean, service was great, definitely coming. Back 🤩

This is my second time coming here. I remembered it was by the church on the malecon and it was CHEAP! The price for the total meal including drink has increased to $85 pesos but who can complain with so much food. I had the shrimp fajitas and could only eat half so I took the other half for later. They have about 5 or 6 different meals to choose from. Don't miss out on this place!!!

Food was delicious but the service was horrible. Had to ask the waiter 5 times for a simple glass of water. Requested to add additional breakfast items on the menu but the kitchen could not accommodate. If service was better, we would return but don't recommend.
