Food, service, and ambiance is amazing! I've never been to a fine dining featuring Mexican cuisine and I must say, I was very impressed. The service was impeccable from the moment we walked in. Victor took care of my table and he was on top of things. He made sure my whole table was taken care of and kept us up to date on our food arrival time. My table ordered appetizers, entrees, desserts and coffee. Each dish was huge! The presentation was on point and everything we ordered was delicious. My favorite dish from the whole night was the bone marrow. It was a little on the expensive side but totally worth it. If I ever come back to PV, I would definitely visit this restaurant again.

Okay. Great show. Really good service. But most of the good was more show than go, unfortunately. The al pastor plate was very disappointing. The pineapple was hard and had very little flavor actually. And the meat itself was not that meaty. A weird term, I promise not to use too many times. The music and ambience was good and I guess that's what you pay for. It was expensive for a couple drinks and dinner. The churros were good and the little cart they come on is "Instagramable" but that's not a reason to have something in my opinion. Now the good news is my friend had the fish tacos and they said the tacos were the best they have ever had. That's a bold statement, as they've had a lot of tacos! I tried them and again...lacked a lot of flavor. The tortillas in the beginning with the stone bowls were a highlight though. And the very attentive servers. Overall good but could have been much been much better for the price.

My family had very high hopes for this restaurant. We had to wait for what seemed like forever just for the appetizer then when the food finally came.. The presentation for my sons steak was beautiful (the reason for the two stars) but where I sat at the table.. I kept getting dripped on from the vent above.. my daughter in law had rolled tacos that barely had any meat in them… I had the 3 piece bone marrow plate and it was only slightly tasty my son had steak and lobster where he said the lobster tasted “funny” my grandson had a dish that had lobster in it.. he also said it tasted “funny” but my other grandson had mini tacos and he said they were good. I’m sorry Porfirios… we won’t be back.

Went for our 30th anniversary. The place is nice, and staff were friendly and the food was good as well, but some odd quirks. Firstly way too many waiting staff, I counted 18 on the floor at one point! each table had a waiter and an assistant to that waiter, then there were managers walking around...litterally the staff were bumping into each other and honestly it added a sense of confusion rather than expedient service. We saw our main guy a couple times but mainly his assistant, all very friendly and knowledgable about the menu and drinks list. Decor...very nice in general, booth and table seating, modern beamed ceilings but then large TVs on the walls, club music in the background(not loud but didn't fit in my opinion)...wasn't sure what it was meant to be, a sports bar or a restaurant? As an ex restaurateur I would suggest the management take a good look at who their target market is. I scanned the room and saw at least 80% of their clientele were over 50, I'd say less tv's more ambience. Now the food. It was good, appetizers, excellent (huge) I suggest you share one. We had mango and salmon civiche and melted cheese with shrimp. We were almost full after these! Main courses again great portions we had the sharing pork and pineapple on a mini rotisserie carved at the table. And because I had mentioned our anniversary we got a nice sparkler lit cake at the end (it wasn't very good at all flavour wise) but a nice thoughtful touch. Drinks: Amazing, best cocktails of our 3 week trip to PV, I'd go back just for them. My favourite was the Tamarind and Mezcal drink wow! I would go again, but not for a romantic evening.

A gorgeous place to dine and be seen. Great steaks and full premium liquer bar. The desert menu is great. Food portions are worth the money, friendly server's.

My husband and I are staying at the Peninsula Plaza Vallarta, so we decided to have dinner at Porfirio’s to celebrate our 6th anniversary. This was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had in a restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was outstanding! Our servers Eduardo and Edgar made us feel like a king and a queen. We will never forget this celebration. We will be coming back for sure! Thanks, Porfirio’s team! You guys are incredible!

Went to Porfirios while on vacation in Puerto Vallarta and it was amazing! We got free cocktails since it was National margarita day! The salads were huge and then main dishes were great! We got the pablano pepper, steak in bone marrow sauce, and skewered shrimp with mezcal flambé! Our server, Balam and Herbert took great care of us! They got us everything we needed and helped with dinner selections. If you are in PV, be sure to check this place out!

The staffing is great! The food I give it a 3/5. If you add their salsa, it'll make it a 4.2/5. The salmon was plain, and the corn was too salty. The Surf and Turf was a 3/5 but tasted better with the salsa. The chips were pretty good with the salsa!

Club-like interior, a bit loud but the food is great and the service is very, very attentive. How do you fault them for that? Just know what it is and be prepared to have difficulty chatting with a date over the music and service interruptions. We came for the octopus and it was great, and found the portions WAY bigger than we were expecting. Cricket guac is tasty--try it.

I found a small piece of heaven! Mexico rocks when it comes to food and porfirios should have a medal for prices, taste, service and atmosphere. Alam my waiter was my angel during my visit to heaven.. the chefs deserve all the same and the ppl putting this amazing machine on earth deserve more than just money! They respect me with all before mentioned and that is more than so many other poor restaurants with no respect for my money and time.. I hope I can do my business with same kind of respect and awesomeness 🙏🏻 Great job to all on the floor and all in the backstage you guys are amazing

Some of the best high end Mexican food I've had, some amazing dishes. Not cheap, but excellent value.

From the moment you walk in you know it's going to be good. From the atmosphere, music and service all the way to the presentation and flavor of the food everything was excellent. We tried just about every cocktail because we couldn't get enough of the whimsical presentations. We explored a wide variety of items from the menu by sharing all dishes. Start to finish everything was Delicious, Fun and a true Experience.

The level of customer service is excellent. Other restaurants in the area should take note. From the moment we arrived our waiter Adad made sure we were taken care of. The display of attention to detail was remarkable. His dish suggestions were spot on. As our dishes were being presented Christian, the manager, greeted us and also took care of us. Drinks, refills, main course, desserts were all incredibly presented and delicious. We will be coming back every time. The rest of the staff was friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was clean, fun, inviting and lively. For anyone in Puerto Vallarta, this is a place to go for a great dinner, or special occasion. Dress is business casual / elegant.

Our hotel recommended Porfirio’s for dinner and we were so pleasantly surprised. Service, atmosphere, and food was amazing. They had plenty of recommendations for us depending on our taste preferences and I even tried mezcal again after swearing it off. So tasty. The Adelita (I think if I’m remembering the name correctly). I don’t know if I’d go there more than once in a trip because it is a little pricier than surrounding restaurants, but definitely at least once a trip and/or for special occasions. It was worth it for us. Our server, Adonai, and Reyes were super attentive and just overall had great personalities. More than just a server for our evening and it was perfect. We had the beef tacos with marrow and the tenderloin with marrow sauce along with the guava cheesecake dessert. Portions were just right for dinner and dessert was shareable! We finished with a complimentary wafer!

This is not just dinner. It's an experience! The staff is engaging and fun, and the food is amazing. Perfect for a fun night out or to celebrate a special occasion. The mango margarita is delicious.

Friendly staff. Good value. Great ambience. Ribeye with bone marrow was average - too much fat & gristle. Tenderloin was excellent and included an unexpected entertaining ritual before serving. Flan with ice cream was delicious. Fresh-made churros with four dipping sauce options were very good, and serving them in a mini Churros wagon was a nice touch. I'd go back.

In a great atmosphere, the decoration is very tasteful, the pastor tacos are very tasty and the show that the waiter makes them in front of you is a unique experience. (When we asked our waiter Joseph, he didn't like the idea of our order. It showed on his face) Very original cocktails. I would definitely return

Food was ok, a little steep on prices and not a lot on the menu to offer. I've been to porfirios before but for whatever reason it was bland. I had the shrimp which they did a little fire show to present it, but in my opinion it over cooked the shrimp. Waiter was attentive, did not have reservations on a Friday night and still got in. My husband had the steak, it was good, but missing seasoning.

Absolutely excellent food, drinks and 5 star service! The food was delicious. The presentation and the service were wonderful. The tenderloin and the picanha were absolutely delicious. The music videos playing in the background were an excellent touch. This place gets a 10/10 from our party. Perfect place for dinner close to the cruise port!

Great restaurant for upscale Mexican cuisine! Be sure to have reservations for dinner here on Thursdays for live Mexican band music accompanied dancers.

Not a bad place to go on a fun Friday night. The atmosphere is fun although a little confused. Clubby vibes that are tamped down with large TV's. Other than that food is pretty good! Very entertaining presentation and good quantity. With all the pomp and circumstance it makes up a bit for the taste which loses a point comparatively with it's surrounding restaurants. All in all still worth a try especially if getting drinks!

I can only give an honest review, so here goes. Arrived and the place looked great. First impressions were excellent. They asked if there were any allergies etc and we explained one member of the party couldn’t eat cheese/dairy. The shared starter, guacamole, came with cheese on it. They did replace eventually and we didn’t let it affect are meal (we kind of scrapped the cheese to one side, as we aren’t ones to make a fuss). We asked the waiter about sides with our entree, specifically the potato in green sauce. Asked again and he made no mention of cheese, until it came out, then he explained it was “loaded with cheese”. Again he offered to replace but too late in the meal so I told him “not to bother”. But, the entree itself really sealed the one star review. One member ordered the Lobster Taco, and within minutes of finishing felt physically sick (like wanting to throw up) and hasn’t been “good’ all evening. Hey, maybe we caught them on a bad night. We went because the reviews were good. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we have to disagree. Sorry Porfirio’s.
