I can’t rave enough about this place! I saw it in a foodie group when I first arrived for my two week stay and missed the brunch time the first Sunday. But I told them I would be back the next week and I meant that! First of all if you love views like me, this is your place. If you love bottomless mimosas like me this is your place. If you love a little live music and epic service this is your place!!

While the bill was a little expensive for the food and beverage quality, the experience was unbelievable. This, is by far the best sunset I have ever seen, it's something that sticks in the back of the mind. They just opened a new bar section so I strongly recommend spending your sunsets there instead of two blocks down on the Malecon. Also the violinists are impeccable ambiance for a romantic date, it's great to see your loved one blush a little ❤️ Overall, strongly recommend!

Lovely setting, food good. But restuarant wide open with lots of tables and felt overwhelmed. Waiters too busy to spend any time. We had a late seating, once people started leaving much more enjoyable. Violinists that were excellent, but acoustics not good, so just rather loud and distracting.

We stayed at the hotel (Bellview), and were only there for breakfast.. the food is good, bit of Mexican and European mix, average coffee, the service is a bit odd but friendly and good price. The location and view is out of this world. I’d recommend anyone who visit puerto Vallarta to go there for dinner. You’d want to thank me later!

Beautiful views, great food and lovely live music. The view is spectacular. There was live violinist playing, you could even request music. Food was delicious. I had the lamb, it was tender and flavorful. My boyfriend had the lobster it was also tender and flavorful. This was a 10 out of 10 for us.

It was beautiful. Perfect location behind the church. The restrooms say "Jose" and "Maria" which made me giggle. The waiters are on top of the service and great. My girlfriend got the homemade fettuccine Alfredo with chicken which was good. My linguine with giant shrimp would have been amazing if I liked basil but I don't and our friend got the salmon which she said was great. The atmosphere is romantic and they had 3 people playing the violin. It was beautiful

Really the most romantic place in the world. I loved the violin, the service, and the view. You really cannot beat the ambience here. Although I had better Italian food back home, and I felt like some dishes prices were absurd (70-90 USD a plate) I recommend this place for the memories

Beautiful architecture and stunning views of the Pacific. The view of the church with the crown was unreal. I could spend all day here. We had reservations for lunch but I can only imagine how beautiful it would have been for a sunset dinner. Service was immaculate with some of the fresh authentic Italian style food. Highly recommend!

Came here for my Dad’s birthday. The whole experience was hands down million dollar service. From being warmly greeted by Sergio the server I could not have asked for a better evening. The food was impeccable and delicious. Drinks well balanced. And the violin player was so friendly and approachable. If I ever get proposed to this is the spot I want.

The view is amazing. The food is good. They even brought us some complimentary flutes of champagne for our anniversary. They were also knowledgeable (though somewhat confusing) about gluten-free allergies and accommodations for it. The only downside was that we found bugs in our drinks. I took them out with a straw and put them on my bread plate. I showed the waiter and he simply brought a new plate (didn't really say anything about the bugs or ask if we wanted new drinks).

Wow! What an incredible experience. We came right when they opened and had the best service and brunch. You cannot beat the views and the vibe. We could not stop staring at the view of the beautiful city and the ocean. Make sure you try the chilaquiles and get both the red and green sauce. The cocktails are also very good and well presented.

Food was great, pricy but you’re basically paying for a view. They also have live music with violinists that come by your table and perform. We got the creamy tomato soup with pesto? A Caesar salad, the chicken piccata, and mussels appetizer, and chocolate lava cake. The sauce for the mussels appetizer was delicious but the mussels themselves were fishy… Caesar salad is Classic. The chicken piccata I liked a lot as it was lemony and chicken was cooked to perfection. We also loved the soup. I am glad that even though the food was pricy, it was delicious and we enjoyed it a lot. We also got a lemonade, Coke Zero, and 2 bottled waters and paid $117 USD (tip included) which is fairly priced. I will say a lot of the portions were small.

Every part of our experience dining at La Cappella was extraordinary! From the amazing view while watching the sunset to the delicious food, to the attentive servers and talented violinists. It was a truly magical night. Highly recommend!

I’ve travelled all of over the world, including Italy, and La Capella is my favourite restaurant on the planet. The decor, the views of Banderas bay and the church, the amazing food & service come together to form an experience I’ll always return to whenever I’m in PV.

  • 5/5 Sean R. 1 year ago on Google
Of all the restaurants I have tried in PV thus far, La Capella is my favorite! The food and drinks were really wonderful. I had the Vesta Tonic, which I highly recommend. Fried panko shrimp appetizer was lovely, and the surf and turf was also great - although the Lobster tail was a bit tough. But the best part of the evening is being there through sunset while a wandering string trio plays - simply magical. It’s pricey, but not as much as a couple of others I had been to. The food, views, and ambiance really make this a must for anyone visiting.

Definitely one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. Views, service violinists, food & ambiance were all simply amazing. Wish they weren’t booked out again so we could go again before we leave.

Everything was amazing! the food, the drinks, the view, the live music and our server was the best we've had in a while! Jared made everything so much more enjoyable. He was very attentive. He kept our wine glasses full and our faces smiling. Thank you so much!

One of a kind experience. The place, people, and food are special in their own ways, and the violinists are exceptional. Jonathan was a fantastic server and host for our evening. Highly recommend making this a priority if you come to Puerto Vallarta!

I treated myself to a birthday dinner at La Capella and it was perfect. Food and view were absolutely great. And big thank you to my server Jared for making my birthday extra special!

Every once in a while you discover a true gem; less of a restaurant and more of a destination. La Cappella is that, for me. I “found” the restaurant a year ago while walking alone off the beaten path in the hills of PV. I took photos of the stunning view and showed them to my wife upon returning to our resort. Alas, we did not have time to visit the restaurant for a meal before traveling back home so we vowed to return this year our Anniversary. After looking forward to dining at La Cappella for a full year, we finally returned to PV and dined here this past week. So often we build would-be experiences up in our minds, only to be let down by realty. Not the case here, thankfully. Every detail of the experience exceeded our expectations. I had the Tasting Menu and was totally amazed by the flavors and textures. Each course was prepared from scratch and plated to perfection. No detail was overlooked, from the salad dressing to the poached pear. Even our anniversary dessert spread was laid out in a special plate, complete with fireworks. I’m pleased to say that the service is on par with the excellence of the meal. Our host, Jared, went out of his way to see that our evening was perfect. He pleasantly tended to our every need throughout the meal and even took the time to explain the restaurant’s history to us. He is a joy to be around, is very well spoken and knowledgeable in his craft. Furthermore, Jared wanted to make sure that we got the absolute most out of our visit to La Cappella so he graciously offered to take photos of us in front of the stunning view of the cathedral and the bay while the sun was setting. This is a monumental location and the view is simply unmatched, so having photos with it is truly a highlight and will provide us with lifelong memories. Thank you, Jared and La Cappella. You have earned our business for the foreseeable future and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Had a dinner here and then came back days later for breakfast. A place like this is a once in a lifetime sunset dinner. If I could only go to one restaurant in PV I’d choose this one. Great service, food and ambiance.

I was incredibly excited to eat here. Been wanting to go for years and everyone hyped it up. I’ll start with the good then go into the bad. The charcuterie is the best in puerto Vallarta. Wow!!! The violinists are talented and the atmosphere is the most incredible. It’s romantic and inviting. Perfect for celebrations. The bad is the food and the service. It took me more than twenty minutes to get a glass of wine after I actually got the wine menu. The sommelier knew absolutely nothing about wine regions or wine history, but it wasn’t his fault because the server kept talking over him. Then the server continued to ask if I want to see the price of the wine instead of just getting me a glass. It was obnoxious. I just wanted to enjoy. Just pour the wine and let the Som do their job. Finally after being asked if I wanted to see the price over and over I said sure and he finally poured a glass. It was insulting, I didn’t care about prices, I cared about enjoying. While I waited for my friend to arrive they kept taking his silverware and glasses. More than three times. There is no communication between the hosts, servers and staff. The same person tried to take them twice. I was thoroughly annoyed. One we started dinner my drink was empty. I tried to order another drink multiple times and the servers never delivered. But my friend got his second. Finally after we finished they asked if I still want another drink. No, I wanted the drink during dinner, not when we were ready to leave. And don’t expect fresh pasta. It is over cooked and direct from a box. The shrimp were large, but overcooked. Nothing was fresh but the sauces did have a lot of flavor. If you want a great view and amazing charcuterie then this is the place. If you want good food, wine and service, go elsewhere. You won’t find it at la cappella. I would not go back to the dining room but I would likely go to the bar there.

We stopped in 2 times this visit. The restaurant takes you for what feels like a Mediterranean visit, but ends in the most beautiful part of Mexico. The ambiance, the service, the food--it is all 5 star. The ambiance is designed around the most stunning sunset view. To compliment it, there are beautiful touches from the crown molding to the carved, wooden doors to the live violinist(s). The experience alone was worth the dine. The service is beyond; our server, Sergio, was knowledgeable and made sure to cater to my gluten free needs--even bringing out warmed gluten free bread. Then the food, it takes you to all sorts of Italy and the food is done as you order it. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. As an added bonus, the drinks--Mexican inspired--add to the experience of Puerto Vallarta whilst still celebrating all the good Italy has to offer. Finally, the prices make this place affordable. We'll be back as soon as we can, and we can't wait!

Beautiful venue with great food. I had the local Mahi-mahi with risotto. Just like I had been experiencing with other places in the area, the fish was great but the risotto was not. The drinks and service were great though. I must stress that this is a very romantic restaurant, with great views of the the bay! I forgot to take a photo of my dish, but I loaded a pic of my brother in law's surf and turf order, which was absolutely stunning. Definitely what I'd order next time.

This restaurant is incredible! It surpassed any expectations I had. The live violinists are incredible! Such an intimate setting for a date or dinner with family. The food is delicious, and the ambiance unmatched. Church bells and fireworks in the distance was the icing on the cake for me. I will definitely return next time I'm in Puerto Vallarta!

I was at PV with a group of friends for a Bachelorette party and had dinner at La Capella. It was an amazing experience. Food was delicious, place looks super cute (with wonderful views), and they had a group of violinists who sounded beautiful. Would highly recommend.

What a experience brunch in this outstanding restaurant. The few is spectacular to the see with beautiful cathedral in front of it. The foods is excellent and services are super great. On top of it, they have live performance.

It has an spectacular view of the bay to enjoy the sunset, the violin duo was awesome, the dishes are very good as the wines and cocktails selection, I tried the salmon fillet and cheese cake and really enjoyed it. The staff is knowledgeable and serviceable. Make sure to make a reservation and avoid beach attire.
