Overall a nice experience. Service was excellent - - prompt but not obtrusive, professional but friendly. Both dishes I had were prepared and presented well. A nice selection of wine. While I would go back, I felt that the price was a little high for what you got, especially since the setting was not particularly beautiful.

Sadly, I have eaten my fourth and last meal here. I am a solo female diner, and I was not treated well at Tre Piatti this evening, which is a huge shame since I have raved about this restaurant for many years. I was not treated well. My waiter was extremely different not only with the table of six men next to me, but with another male solo diner. He was super chatty and friendly, described the dishes in detail, asked about where they were from. With me, he was very short and curt, bordering on unfriendly and rude. It’s not as if I was cheap or irritating. I did not ask many questions and I ordered a lot of food for one person: cocktail, starter, main, two glasses of wine, and a dessert. I could go on and on, but what’s the point?! I felt like I was irritating him with my presence. It’s sad because I’ve had pleasant experiences at every restaurant dining solo in PV in this trip and on previous trips. Pre-Covid, I went to Tre Piatti for my last night’s meal. I had the most fantastic experience! This… was upsetting. I actually got a bit emotional on my walk home - I did not cry, but tears welled up. I spent almost 1800 pesos and walked away feeling uncomfortable with the way I was treated. No thanks - never again.

I went to Tre Piatti my first trip to PV and had a wonderful experience, so we decided to return during our second trip. Unfortunately, this experience left a bad taste in our mouth. Almost immediately upon receiving our menus, our waiter tried to essentially force us into a “tasting menu” of two apps, two pastas, an entree and a dessert (mind you, we are two young women and that’s obviously way too much food). It was a visibly awkward interaction as we tried to politely ask for more time to review the menu. After he left, we decided on one app and two pastas. As we put in our order, he INSISTS we still order this specific appetizer, and wouldn’t take no for an answer. We finally just say yes so he’ll leave us alone, and all throughout the meal he was trying to upsell us to order more things and more drinks. At the end of the meal, he tried to coerce us into ordering a dessert and we flat out said no, we’re too full, we don’t want it, and he just wouldn’t leave it alone! He brings us a taster of the dessert and we still say no. We receive our check and remember that app we didn’t want but he insisted we get? Not only did he charge us full price, it was one of the most expensive things on our bill! It’s a shame because it’s a beautiful restaurant and the vast majority of staff are lovely, but their waiters need to cool it on the upselling. You would’ve thought this dude was trying to meet his monthly sales quota on our dinner alone. Throughout the rest of our trip, we kept talking about how annoying that experience was. Would we return again? Maybe.. but only if we get a different waiter.

3 times in 1 week including with group of 9 people for my 50th bday and I can say this is indeed the best food and service in PV. The chef and the pastry chef are both geniuses and super creative. The quality is top notch along with the incredible service from David and Jesus and the bartender magician Ulysses. My group of foodies agreed with me—Tre Piatti is as charming and friendly as it is delicious! Thank you to your whole staff who made me feel so welcome! I look forward to seeing you all very soon.

We stumbled upon this place when we saw two giant mango trees growing through their roof. When we peaked inside, we saw them making their pasta for that night and immediately made a reservation. We were greeted by one of the funnest waiters we’ve ever met. Not only did “Jesus” entertain, he steered us to the best menu options and ensured we had a great evening. The trees are now dead but the restaurant is phenomenal and the decor fits its personality well.

Wow! If you haven’t been here you’re missing out. Tried 4 Italian restaurants in PV and this is the BEST!!!! I asked the waiter for a pasta tasting menu and they made it for me. 5 courses and some of the dishes were the best pasta I’ve had in my life and I love Italian food and have been to 48 countries and tried it wherever I could including Italy!! You must go!

Stunning every time! We have been coming here for the exceptional food and service for 5 years now. Hands down one of the best places for Italian food in PV. The chef is extremely talented and his wife hand makes all the desserts from scratch.

Tre Piatti is our favorite restaurant in Puerto Vallarta (maybe anywhere?) The restaurant itself is pretty but understated, comfortable and beautifully built around old trees. The service is attentive but not overbearing. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. But it’s the food and the new menu each week that are really incredible. It’s creative yet familiar and we’ve never been disappointed by a single dish. They once ordered the ingredients for a dish we loved but was no longer on the menu and invited us back later in the week to enjoy it. Can’t recommend Tre Piatti enough! Love, Tomahawk

Not sure I understand all the five star reviews for the place. I went and it was fine. Just that…fine. Overtly overpriced with a very limited menu; compared to other Italian places in RZ and the flavors were not worth the price tag. I may go back someday but it definitely didn’t live up to the expectations I had.

This place is like a hidden gem. The food is stellar and the service is top notch. 👌 our Server David was amazing and really knowledgeable of the menu. Which is great being our first time here. The chef comes out and is involved and explains the dish. We will definitely be coming back to visit. I would love give this place 10 stars. Great place for a date night

The best restaurant we have been to in Puerto Vallarta, and top 3 of all places we have been. Each course was better than the next!

I think Tre Piatti had the best Italian food in PV. I have been many times and the pasta dishes are always great. The service is more than welcoming and everyone there is super friendly. The cocktails are amazing and support high standard. I just went back a couple more times and the food is consistently great. Try it!

This place has it all: great ambiance, beautiful decor, amazing and imaginative cocktails, delicious menu that changes every few weeks and above all attentive service by the staff and the owner/chef Chanan! Highly, highly recommended!!!

Tre Piatti is hands down my favourite restaurant in Puerto Vallarta. The food is exquisite and the service exceptional. Tonight was my third time there this year and David is a master at service. He curated the experience perfectly. Everything from his deep knowledge of the food to spot on wine pairings. It’s such a personal experience dining with David and the Tre Piatti team. My compliments to the incredible chefs here. I will be back soon!

Gem of a place in Puerto Vallarta. Try the leeks with peas and bacon side dish. Mushroom tortellini was exceptional as was the fusilli bolognese.

We had the kampachi crudo for an appetizer. Then I had the pappardelle with osso bucco ragu. The pasta was cooked perfectly. It was delicious, but the meat was a little too salty for my liking. It was paired with a great bottle of wine.

By and large, nice food and reasonably authentic, although my carbonara was way too salty. Good selection of wines. Overall experience was marred by somewhat erratic service from our waiter; even the bill did not arrive promptly when asked for. I am in two minds as to whether to return - maybe, one day.

You want to pay really high price and not so fresh fish, this is it! Their plain spaghetti dish is $20. 1 bite size appetizer is $8. A cheap glass of wine is 15. I was in Europe and it costs $10 Euros for a good wine bottle. This is MEX and not New York or Europe. Our dinner is 4500 pesos for 3.

The best Italian restaurant around! Don’t miss it. The menu changes weekly and is always innovative and cutting edge. Try something from each category and save room for dessert! Great wine list. Great location in Zona Romántica.

Our dining experience was ten stars. I dine in Manhattan, NY frequently and the food was extraordinary. The unique Flavors were precisely matched and balanced to perfection. As for the atmosphere and service, superb. Pricing for an experience of this caliber was totally fair. Thank you for the best dinner I’ve had. Jay & Kat

Wow. Just wow. Hats off to Jesus for the best service I've ever received at any restaurant in all my life. His recommendations were on point. The food. was absolutely incredible. The pastas were to die for. The wine list was diverse and appropriate to the cuisine. I would travel back to PV just to eat here. Cannot recommend enough.

A solid 4..8. We found this place by accident. They squeezed out family of 5 in with no reservation on New Years Eve!! We had Jesus as our server and he was incredible..as was all the staff. House-made pasta, ice cream..menu that changes every 2 weeks. From the cocktails to the food it was excellent! Highly recommend Tre Piatti!

Treat yourself! This was the most delicious, flavorful meal. We ordered a special meal prepared by the chef. Divine courses of beautifully plated food, served by David. Great for a family meal or dinner for 2.
