My wife and I arrived in Vallarta around lunchtime, so we decided to explore the area around our hotel for a place to eat. We were not disappointed with our choice of El Patron de Vallarta. The food was excellent and our server, Rafael, was very gregarious and friendly.

Fabulous seafood with a flair. I had a fish fillet in a coconut mango sauce that was out of this world. My family was equally impressed with the aguachile and the other house specialties. The service is incredible, the staff went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable, and they loved our dog, who was with us at our outside table.

We always enjoy our meals here! Fast service with salsa and chips served right away! Portion size is awesome. Coconut shrimp my fav!

Excellent restaurant close to the Sheraton. Wonderful local dishes, great service and a festive atmosphere. The Tuna Special was absolutely amazing! The Coconut Shrimp were very good.

Excellent seafood. Highly recommend the Veracruz mahi mahi. Delicious. Go early to ensure you get a seat for dinner. This place fills up quickly.

Nice, quaint little restaurant. Easy walk from the Sheraton buganvilias hotel. Put our name in, waited about 25 minutes. (went a few days earlier, but waited over 40 minutes, so decided on somewhere else). Food was very good, I've heard it's the best seafood in PV. Prices very reasonable.

Omg a perfect meal,great service,and a good price. These people know about prep,a complete and colorful presentation,and lots of food. More than I could eat. I expected coconut shrimp as more of an entre size . Huge. With baked sweet potatoes, excellent rice,and. Broccoli. Not just an entree. Thankyou for a great meal. Two beers and a shot of tiquila.

This is my mother's favorite restaurant in Vallarta. The seafood is always fresh and inexpensive. The service is pretty good; they try hard. They have some tasty food here. My mother always gets the filet mignon with shrimp. They also have burgers and pasta for people who don't want seafood. The alcohol is yummy; they make great margaritas and sometimes give a special dessert drink at the end.

Old school PV seafood, brings back memories from 15 years ago. Great value.

Very busy @4:30pm on Saturday! Mostly locals and that’s always a sign of excellent food & beverages. Outside shade seating or inside seating, super service, prompt service, delicious sangria & fresh yummy shrimp, scallop tostada for late afternoon refreshments!

Food was great, both had the specials : yellow fish tuna and a mahi-mahi, both food and price were good. But it was the friendly staff and great atmosphere that made it so fun. Complimentary tequila after the meal was a nice touch. Thank you Chris, “H” and Jaime for a great evening!

A quick lunch outside our hotel, easily the best shrimp cocktail I've ever had. Though the sauce was watery compared to the usual "from the jar" affair, this was house made and far more flavorful than anything from a jar. I tasted the crab taquito without knowing it was crab because I generally don't like crab, and it was delicious and rich. The drinks were large and generous. The highlight though was the staff - friendly and inviting, attentive without being invasive. Engaging without feeling like they are being nosey. If you're staying in the area, you need this place in your life, if only for one quick meal.

I loved this little neighborhood restaurant for it's simple and well prepared food with ample portions. I had ceviche and fajitas, both were delicious and more food than i could eat in one sitting. The staff are quick and friendly. Felt like home. Great food at a great price. I'll definitely eat here again.

great authentic street food ... the best of the ghetto and better than ALL the high end restaurants in PV that the fake rich locals (a.k.a. "impresarios") show off their macho wealth. so ... if you love great food without the b.s. go here! good lemonade too

This may be the place with the most delicious seafood you’ll ever find. Ever. The prices are more than fair for the amazing quality and flavor you get; service is very friendly. El Patron is a classic worth repeating over and over.

Amazing service, great food. We got the shrimp burrito and the steak quesadilla, so delicious. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone coming to visit PV. If you like a more authentic atmosphere where the staff are very friendly, this is your place.

This place is highly rated, but I found it to be just okay. I was looking for their whole fish meal, but they didn’t have it anymore. Prices were reasonable, location is hole in the wall vibe. Our bill was $650ish pesos with one margarita and a coke.

We love the coconut shrimp dinner. It is great, and the mango sauce is excellent! The veggies are grilled, and extremely flavorful. Service is consistantly good, and personable. Other dinners are equally top quality, and reasonably priced. One of our favorite restaurants.

This place rocks! 👌🏻Tostadas de ceviche are the best! Excellent food, servers speak really good English and Spanish, good prices, nice location, drinks were amazing, I will always come back to this place. Loved it.

What a great place to finish 14 days in PV. I had the tuna..fabulous, tasty and just dam good! Staff are excellent ambassadors and work hard..and got it right! See you guys next year!

This was the second time going to this restaurant. Fist time was a great experience so second time we had high hopes and we’re not disappointed. Food was amazing along with attentive service. Young waiter who spoke very decent English which we don’t ever expect as we are in Mexico. We were offered a free shot at end of meal(both visits) Highly recommend the Camarones Patron and the filet mignon with coconut shrimp. Both were under $20 Canadian so if you are from the USA an even better price. This is one of the few restaurants in Puerto Vallarta that does not try to rip you off and serves high quality food. Will always return here for the service and quality and honesty!

Rafael is the sweetest and we were so grateful to have met him and to get to see him twice during our visit to PV. The food is humble Mexican cuisine done very well. The first time we came here, we had the aguachile and shrimp tacos. The second time, we had two shrimp plates with shrimp 2 different ways on each entree. They were delicious each time! We were very happy to give return business and we’ll definitely be back on future trips.

Great seafood restaurant, by far the best experience we had so far here in Puerto Vallarta. The restaurant lives up to the great reviews it has. I had the special tuna and my wife had shrimp el patron, both dishes were exquisite and just the right amount of food. Will definitely come back for dinner this time.

Wonderful experience!! The place was so lovely and the food was amazing we went back more than once in the week. Close to the sports park so after dinner it was a perfect place for a walk.
