Beautiful view of the beach. Wide walkways. Farmer’s Market on Thursdays. Tons of foodies here that stretches for miles. Locals and expats are super friendly. They are willing to lend and give recommendations. Just ask. Lots of local vendors and friendly. Plenty of cafés too. There’s also a Lix Ice cream kiosk on the pier. I forgot the store name but they sell souvenirs and really good price, located towards The Center district. Cheers!

Nice long strip to take a stroll along the water. We were told from the middle point you can walk 45 minutes in each direction. Many choices for restaurants and lovely photo opportunities.

The walk on the coast of the Pacific Ocean at Puerto Vallarta is beautiful. I enjoyed every moment of the sound and view of the ocean and the statues there. We were never bored because of all the statues and tourist attractions there. This area is a great place to visit in Puerto Vallarta.

This is a beautiful boardwalk. I walked along here both during the day and the night was really hopping too. It leads you into many shops and restaurants. There are many vendors along the way. You will also find some really cool statues and art. You may even see the some fireworks.

Malecon means boardwalk. No boards but a very enjoyable place to take a walk on. Usually busier in the morning. It's cooler makes sense. Many shops and restaurants along the way. Many people selling their goods and products along the walk. Take your time. Be respectful to the sellers. There trying to take care of their family's.

Great place to come and walk around and see the sights. We encountered many American citizens living their winter months in nearby condos. They mentioned the area was a safe place to visit. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, and bars. Come with small bills or pesos to by from local vendor's. The shop employees do not seem to haggle prices. The place tobiy your souvenirs seems Tobe the market which is a few blocks away. All in all a must see.

Nice pedestrian waterfront. Visited Vallarta during Dia de Muertos festivities and did enjoy it a lot. There are many statues and artwork along the path. Most of them are very beautiful and well elaborated. This walk is highly recommended regardless of the festivities.

Spend time to stroll the Malecon and take in all the sights (and smells) of this vibrant bay front promenade. There are many artisan shops for tequila, raicilla, folk-art and leather goods. Street-food, restaurants, people watching and vendors galore. We went both after dinner and again, during the afternoon for lunch. Bring a hat and sunscreen during the day. There are also statues and street-performers with authentic indigenous ritual performances. Very friendly, laid back and safe area. Good for both socializing and for family.

We enjoyed strolling the length of the boardwalk both in the cool morning hours as well as at night. It's a great spot to people watch and to interact with local artists and street vendors. We visited during the Dia de los Muertos festivities. The central plaza area was filled with towering brightly colored papier mache sculptures. There were also several blocks of shrines to family members and beloved pets.

My boyfriend and I just landed back to California from our visit to the beautiful beach 🏝 of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico 🇲🇽 and as you can already tell; it was an amazing experience met with the most genuine locals. While shopping for souvenirs the owners whipped us up some homemade fresh out of the oven tortas.. the malecon was filled with food, beautiful views, clear water, and clean sands. Along with a bunch of shows and free music.. we even had the chance to be a part of their book fair… it was so clean and so so so safe.. And not to mention everyone spoke English.. I also noticed a lot of people from the US and Canada retired in this area making the area very tourist friendly.. everything was convenient.. I will admit we definitely got our steps in along with our “flight of stairs” count in.. stairmaster has nothing on this beautiful mountain beach side.. thank you for all the hospitality and adventure.. also met some very very famous and brilliant individuals won’t spill any names but let’s just say he had a thing or two to do the directing on Training Day and the Notebook.. filled with character and adventure..

There is definitely a lot going on at this place, which is in the center of town. There are restaurants everywhere there is music, nightclubs,, ice cream, and something for everyone. There’s also a pirate ship that gets close to shore, and throws off fireworks every single night. That is a spectacle in and of its zone. It’s very lively. There is a lot of traffic, so I prefer to walk there, but you can definitely Uber there if you want

Puerto Vallarta is so lovely. It's is beautiful, colourful and full of life. We went in November so they still had the day of the dead statues up. They have stalls in the evening and on Sundays is when it comes to life with all the locals. There was a local market where we got some food and drinks and there were many locals dancing to music. It was just beautiful to see. This place will steal your heart!

The boulevard of Puerto Vallarta filled with beautiful art pieces, quaint shops and eateries. A great way to get your daily steps in and a fantastic way to spend part of your day. While strolling the Malecon don't miss out on the many shops a block or two off the beach.

Great Place to come and enjoy the different foods and varieties of gifts to purchase from. They have a variety if vendors posted outside in front of the malecon, from ice cream, cookies, candies, chips, fruits and just a whole lot of amusement and ambiance for the family.

Always a pleasure to visit this location. Many shops and vendors to choose from. Love seeing the street acts and talking with the locals. Hotel Rosita is a very nice location right next to the beach and at the start of the Malecon walkway. Definitely recommend!

Lovely promenade with a lot to see! Nice to stroll along in the morning before the heat sets in or in the evening when the restaurants and bars really come to life. There are several statues and sculptures along the walkway-- really cool to see but if we had more time I would have loved to join a tour to learn more about them.

We took an Uber from our resort to the Malecon. It was about a 10 min drive from the hotel zone. Lots to see along the shore. There were men that would hang up side down and spin from a rope. There are street vendors actual store fronts, bars and restaurants. A lot of different places to get souvenirs to take home. Sadly when we were here a hurricane had just gone through and then a flash flood so trees and power lines were down in the area. This resulted in the majority of the buildings in this area to not have power. Going inside the shops was unbearable with how hot and humid it was but all the people were still happy and friendly. Unfortunately if they don't have power you can't use your card and the only way to buy stuff is with pesos or American US $ and use their conversation rate. Lots of places to stop and take pictures. We were a family traveling around, we had a stroller which was easy to get around on the main street area but a little tight on some of the back areas. There is a casino in this area and some of the well known taco places a lot of people will talk about. Definitely worth stopping by for a stroll on one of your days. We spent a few hours here.

The Malecon is a great place to walk. People are having a great time. There are plenty of places to eat, sit or view the statues and water. The Church is just one block up the road too! Shops are there for you to buy silver, leather and other Mexican products. Beautiful days to enjoy the wonderful place we find ourselves!

The Mexican people are welcoming and very friendly. They adhere to strict COVID protocol, wearing masks and sanitizing frequently. This is a beautiful clean city and easy to get around. We cruised in on Princess and at that dock, across the street is an indoor mall, Walmart and Sam's Club.

This place is AMAZING! From the beginning to the end you find yourself in a path full of restaurants ,bars , stores and lots of art (people painting , and large sculptures) and the best thing is that at the same time you enjoy the fresh ocean breeze of Banderas bay . Right from start to the end is a great experience, maybe you just want to go from bar to bar , or take pictures from the amazing view and the sculptures , maybe you want to just go souvenir shopping, maybe you just want to go for a bike ride whatever you decide , this place will end up stealing your heart !

Small party in the center on Thursdays and one shows in the afternoon after the sun sets. At the time they had huge rocking horses brining out the children in all of us. Plenty of food stalls at night after 5. Try the tostadas in the center by the kiosk 👌👌👌

It is a fantastic place to enjoy a walk during the morning, afternoon or at night. There is always something different to see. Totally recommend a visit. And if you are there already it is worth the effort to walk all a long the Malecon. It's beautiful. Many photo spots and places to sit and just enjoy the view. During my walk with my family we saw the "voladores de Papantla" performance, a whale swimming near by, stone art by the beach, and brake dancers. We even rode wooden horses for free. So incredible.

Beautiful area to visit while in PV, nice walk along the seaside with shops, restaurants, photo spots, friendly people. An absolute must to visit!

  • 5/5 Robert L. 1 year ago on Google
Walking to Malecon just before sunset is truly magical, never felt unsafe walking down to Malecon, all kinds of shops for just about everything. They will often have something set up at the square (fresh baked / prepared foods food carts). Plenty of nightly entertainment at the clubs, but the most spectacular thing of all is the sunset. Don't be afraid to go off the beaten path of the Malecon and head up some streets behind where there are tons of shops, restaurants, sites to see. Our Lady of Guadalupe Church is a must see, historical beauty in the heart of Puerto Vallarta. Uber is available, safe and handy to get anywhere around the city.

Lots of shops and artwork to check out, food vendors at night, vendors selling homemade stuff day and night. There's a flea market at the end of the boardwalk. There's often live entertainment at night, music, dancing, clowns, etc. There's a vendor close to the bridge who sells *amazing* churros for a great price. You can smell them from 50+ft away! You can also find several vendors selling tuba, which is a coconut-based drink that is delicious and very cheap!

  • 5/5 Marina M. 1 year ago on Google
A must stroll while in PV. There is so much free stuff to see. A Sunday afternoon is best as you can also see local culture of families out for the day, expect a lot of people. Mornings are best for a fast walk or run as malecon is quite empty. Beautiful sceneries for pictures.

If your in Puerto Vallarta you definitely have to go Downtown to el Malecón. It's basically a long Boardwalk strip where they have bars, food, performers lots of little vendors with different souvenirs, music playing, a lot of people walking around and taking pictures. It's pretty big clean and of course if you're a Tourist there's lots of things to see and do. If you want to PARTY this is exactly the place where you want to come and stay not only do they have bars tequila tasting apparently everyone sells drugs too out in the open. Other than that the ambience is really relaxing calm during the day and at night it gets a little more Wild.

  • 5/5 chad r. 1 year ago on Google

Great place to walk and see all the restaurants and shops. The best thing is the street vendors who sell all kinds of delicious snacks and foods all day and night. From custom mexican treats to twists on new and old classics. Make sure to have your camera ready lots of things to take pictures of and play tourist.

  • 4/5 Sharon M. 2 years ago on Google
Wide walking path along the water with nice shops and statues. Be prepared to be approached and followed by many vendors. If that's your thing don't be afraid to reject the first few prices, they will lower them multiple times. Don't fall for the "custom item/spray painted NFL team hats" as you will find the same thing everywhere. Across the street was a very large flea market with 10s of book vendors.

Whether you’re a tourist or a local, the perfect way to end a night out is go for a stroll along the well pathed promenade that stretches a mile or so. My favourite time of the day is just before sunset as you can see the light changes. Absolutely beautiful.

The most popular place to visit in P.V. Not a place to get deals in the shops as they cater to tourists and are priced accordingly. Two blocks east and the prices go way down. You can and should negotiate with the merchants. Do not buy Tequila on the Malicon.

Sandy beach with steep drop off Not the best for swimming with kids. The negatives: The water was a bit grimy. Vendors try to sell you something every 10 mins. The shoreline is rocky. The positives: easy access. Umbrella rental is available. Lots of food options on the beach from the same vendors. I would go back.

One of the most beautiful places in town, there are a lot stores and restaurants, I went on july there was very hot and humid I suggest you if you doesn't want suffer the best time for going are September to January. But if you love the heat from April to August are the best.

A boardwalk-type promenade lined with tourist oriented shops, restaurants and night-clubs. There is beach access on one side of the boardwalk and shops on the other. The beach side sports fanciful statues placed at semi-regular intervals. Restaurants here are god-awful and overpriced to boot. on top of serving bad food they are crawling with various barkers trying to sell you tours of Vallarta and the environs. Its not a pleasant place for a meal. Its ok for a stroll but after you visit it once or twice you'll be done with it.

This is an area that probably every visitor to Puerto Vallarta has seen or wants to. Beautiful views of Banderas Bay all the way from Punta Mita on the north to Las Animas on the south. Shops, art galleries, sculptures, and sidewalk cafes line the boardwalk along the beach where waves roll in crashing against the white sand beach, rocks and seawall. Because we have such fantastic weather here visitor's are almost always guaranteed a perfect picture postcard view.

In what will be news to nobody, there are people trying to sell you doodads at all times, even while you’re eating at a restaurant, which kinda sucks. And there are pretty much no stores on the Malecon you’d actually want to buy anything from, as they’re all full of the same sorts of trinkets you can find from stores all over Mexico. But it’s a nice walk along the ocean, and there are some neat art installations that make for good photo ops.

My wife and really enjoy walking along the Malecón while visiting Puerto Vallarta. The ocean, the local artwork, the shops, and the friendly locals make this an experience like no other. We also enjoy the local group descending from the tower on the ocean in native dress. They do this everyday around 10:30 am. If you're looking for souvenirs, you will find multiple stores while strolling the Malecón. You will be mildly approached by locals attempting to lure you in the tequila tasting or a beauty product, but a smile and a polite "no thank you" are all that you need to say. We also enjoy crossing near the Church and enjoying the activities in the square and walking in to light a candle. Safe. Vibrant. Beautiful...day or night.

Such a cool experience, you see many different things and so many different people. There's so many places to take pictures and the sound of the waves are a HUGE plus. I loved all the food vendors and people selling things! This is a must stop coming to Puerto Vallarta.

A must do stroll if you are visiting PV. As you walk and see the amazing view from the malecon you will be able to buy many different things from the vendors along the way.

A large and wide paved embankment, where it is very comfortable and interesting to walk, both in the morning, when it is almost empty, and in the evening, when it is filled with hundreds of people, families, locals and visitors, people from different parts of the world meet here. There are many artisan shops for tequila, raicilla, folk-art and leather goods. Street-food, restaurants, people watching and vendors galore. Bring a hat and sunscreen during the day. There are also statues and street-performers with authentic indigenous ritual performances. Very friendly, laid back and safe area. Good for both socializing and for family.

Stroll along the boardwalk and enjoy the scenic view of the ocean bay. There are many restaurants to choose from, even delicious ice cream. Fresh seafood includes shrimp, lobster, bass fish, and raw oysters. Friendly atmosphere. A very nice way to spend a day in Peurto Villarta.

The Malecon ...... Yes it's touristy and cheesy and filled with hawkers selling all manner of geegaws , tee-shirts , chotskis and bobbleheaded dolls made in China. ....... But it's also fun and wide sidewalks and loaded with excellent people watching subjects. Overpriced restaurants and hotels/condos line the Malecon but they are there for a reason. The view is beautiful , the climate excellent and the buzz is fun. Recommended! Go to watch and be watched. Enjoy the buzz of the tourists and the hawkers.

The usual tourist spot, vendors and knick-knacks, but a beautiful boardwalk. Husband's will be like, whatevers and roll their eyes, wives will definitely take a million photos and want to check it off the must do list, so wear some good shoes gentlemen! 👍🏾

LOVE the Malecon. I could spend hours wondering around, checking out the stalls and local shops/eateries. The Malecon is adorned with bronze sculptures the whole way down and very beautiful. It's so nice to see an area that has had a lot of thought and culture put into its design. It's open to all and a public area so not sure why Google was asking if I had a wait to enter 🤷🏻‍♂️ it's definitely a place to visit if you're in PV.

👍👍 Okay so this was the first place recommended to try on my trip to Puerto Vallarta. I feel like I should give the person who recommended this place a brand new car because it was absolutely amazing! I think my server's name was Daniel and he did an outstanding job. Make sure you start off with a larg...
