BRING YOUR OWN WATER!! Providing one bottle of water a day and telling us the water is safe for them (the staff/locals) to drink but not guaranteeing it is for us as the paying guests is crazy. Why have a refrigerator with ice/water if it's not safe for all? We had to request 4 bottles (per person) as the 2 started with did not get replaced. They suggested we get water from town...so go down this giant hill from the resort to get drinking water...(we had Uber eats deliver jugs). The place is pretty and has a lovely view, but it's rather surprising to see the prices! (And overpriced bottled water!!) The bathroom towels are like sandpaper!! Went to the roof top restaurant and I left hungry (so glad I asked for more bread!), paid $30 for a salad and was charged more for my one glass of water than the menu had it listed for. The room is huge, so much wasted space it's very odd. Also cameras are everywhere! Not one of the 5 pools is really for swimming, all of them are rather shallow. The swim up bar has jets and a waterfall, but they don't have them consistently running even when occupied. Half of the hot tub jets worked half the time we used it, being told this by other guests and then experiencing it ourselves. The snack bar is "open" I guess, the kitchen is empty, pretty sure they are getting food from the roof top restaurant and bringing it down the elevator (confirmed). We didn't get turn down service the first night even though the sign was out and the service cart was at the room across the hall. I spoke with an employee and he said he would take care of it (I asked if I should check with another employee and he said no) then went swimming, nothing happened. I called after nothing on the second night after explaining turn down service to 3 employees over the phone and was asked if I wanted room service, I was told we had valuables out so the maid didn't leave our water and chocolate. I asked if we needed to pack out bags for the service as no valuables were out in the bedroom, he sent someone. She came by and handed me the chocolate and left the water. Again odd and not turndown service. Oh boy! Went to the front desk to request the chocolate we were not given on night one. First excuse you left valuables out, second excuse we left the do not disturb sign out (we did not), third excuse we were in the room, fourth excuse AMENITIES DON'T START THE FIRST NIGHT OF YOUR STAY. They had one box at the desk we should have had two but I exhausted my efforts and walked away with one box of two chocolates, instead of two for all four of us. Don't get tricked by the smile, water and cool towel when you check in, service drops off after that..just a smile with no customer service. So it's pretty, pricey, and leaves a lot to be desired, don't look too close into the system as a whole though...

Gorgeous views from the rooms and the suite and its furnishings were all of a very high standard. I thought it was nice that they come to your door in the evening to provide hand made chocolates. Some staff members are extremely friendly and pleasant. However, a lot of the staff is rude, pushy, and expectant when it comes to tipping. I think most guests are aware that it is expected to leave a tip. However, it is at the guest's discretion and they don't need to be hassled or constantly reminded by staff to tip them. Usually, I tip 20-25% in Mexico across the board. I was annoyed that at this hotel, you would order something from the restaurant or room service, and the staff dealing with you would automatically ask you how much tip you were going to give them in a pushy manner before you have even seen or consumed your food! The food menu is massively overpriced and not good. Out of politeness, I would still tip 20%. However, I often then noted that the staff seemed disappointed with their tip amount. What exactly are they expecting? On my final night, I had ordered room service and the card machine wasn't working. I only had very large notes and didn't want to have to make the man go back and forth with my change. The room service guy had said it could be added to my room to pay upon check out. I wrote down the amount I wanted to tip and signed it. However, when I checked out and paid the bill, I noticed that he had changed the tip amount and doubled it. So cheeky! The constant expectation for gringos to leave massive tips was irksome. I didn't say anything and paid it anyway but wouldn't return to this environment.

Great resort at a great price. Pure luxury at its best. The staff is great and the suites are very spacious. The rooms have kitchens in them with a large glass shower and toilet room. It doesn’t offer any privacy but if you’re there with someone you care about then you have nothing to hide. The beds are very comfortable. The driveway up is long and very steep. The view is amazing of the city at any level. The pool is in the shade part of the day. We highly recommend this place.

I really enjoyed my stay here. We stayed 5 nights, had a beautiful junior suite bay ocean view, spectacular sunsets. Very clean rooms, spacious, you get water and little chocolates placed on your pillows at night. Staff, very friendly and accommodating. Shout out to Juan Carlos @Sky deck, best server ever! The food and drinks were really good. Recommend the mezcal margarita! Free breakfast, which is nice. The spa experience was excellent! Why not for stars, well let’s start with having to check in and out whenever you leave the resort or if you’re anywhere in the resort. The property is on top of a mountain top, you have to take a taxi to get to and from otherwise, you are walking up and down long cobblestone streets. The beach is about a 30 minute walk downhill and hard to find. The staff is not very good at giving you specific instruction or directions. The have a awesome rooftop bar with absolutely nothing going on, so if you’re looking for entertainment this is not the place for you. Overall, a good place if you just want to relax and getaway. Spectacular views, great staff and food. Would recommend !

We recently had 6 nights here and would not hesitate to return again. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful (in particular the bellboys and security at the front desk) and we really enjoyed chatting with them. The rooms are a little dated but very clean, well provisioned and enormous with the most stunning views from good sized balconies. There is a good selection of pools to choose from to cool off and the food at the top level pool bar is very good for lunch. Even though the hotel is a wee way up the hill it is a very easy and cheap trip down the hill in a taxi (I did walk one day but given the gradient and rocky nature of the cobblestones it was a bit more tricky and took quite a bit longer to go the distance than walking on standard pavement - it was nice though to experience the neighbourhood and see the views on the way down). We would happily stay here again !

Spent a night at this hotel and it was an amazing experience. We ended up having more people than originally planned and the guy on the reception helped us find the best room options, they took our bags to the room, called a taxi whenever we needed to leave. Everyone we talked to spoke English, so it was easy for us to communicate. Room was very clean and we had the best view from the balcony. They have several pools to chose from. We had dinner at the rooftop restaurant, everything was super delicious and the staff was very friendly. The view was amazing (and we got to see fireworks as well). Breakfast is included and it is a buffet style. Lots of great options to choose from and everything tasted amazing. Would highly recommend this place.

Not used to this level of hotel. It was the most expensive, fanciest hotel me and my lady had ever booked for ourselves. And we paid for a higher end place to ensure peace and quiet, and exceptional service. We got none of those. They had construction going down on the main pool level with the hot tub, and even decided to locate their circular saw and grinder on the pool deck. Incredibly loud and explained that level being empty. Could even hear it easily from the top level pool, as well as their own loud music for sunsets. Service was odd. Maybe it's a high end hotel thing but having to sign out and in every time you came and went, and requiring a check-out pass to leave on your final day after inspecting your room was odd and rubbed us the wrong way, especially the way it was requested with no explanation or warning. Assume it's a safety thing in part but PV is safe. Plenty of very friendly staff but it took 4 folks and 10 minutes of repeated discussion to figure out what they should do after serving the wrong food at the restaurant. Also had issues with the front desk when dealing with simple issues. Breakfast food is just ok. Overall the view is incredible and the rooms are what they look like, but we expected more.

Big freaky empty rooms with cold fluorescent lighting. Reeked of air freshener and sewage. Large clump of black hair stuck to the bathroom wall. Good luck finding free water. Four pools but none of them are open past 9 pm? Bad vibes all around.

Exquisite views from the spacious rooms. Service can't be beat; The staff is super friendly and willing to assist with my Spanish lessons. The drive to get here was rather tight. I think I would have been more comfortable taking an Uber up the hill rather than driving the rental car.

This is my second time staying and we will definitely be repeat offenders here. We got a junior suite that had one large bed, a living room, kitchen complete with table, stove, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher and dishes. The bathroom was nice and had a very large shower stall which I loved and there was a jacuzzi on the balcony that overlooked the ocean. The staff is unbelievably accommodating and friendly, my fiancé and I would sneak up to the roof top at night and a server would come up to check on us and bring us drinks. Their restaurant was pretty good as well, if you're American, I would suggest staying away from the items that sound familiar at home because I personally didn't like one of the dishes I ordered, most likely because I was expecting something different. There is a pool area by the restaurant and another on the lower ground and there are multiple pools on that level. I would suggest they have the pools cleaned up multiple times a day, my fiancé and I avoided a couple of the pools midday because there were blooms and other greenery starting to pile up in the pools. They have a free breakfast with some of the best orange juice and coffee I've ever had, by day 3 it does get a tiny bit repetitive but nothing unmanageable. The one critique I would have is that you have to pay for every single bottle of water there, which I didn't like. We stayed two days before here at a resort that was of higher stature and they gave you free bottles of water. Once we asked for a couple bottles and they brought up an entire case. If you're not from there, you need that water for drinking and brushing your teeth even because the water can make you sick. I think that's a low standard to have and they need to be more accommodating, paying $7 for a bottle of gross Evian water every time we were thirsty for something non-alcoholic really began to add up. This place should buy Kirkland water and have that be the pass out to guests.

We had a great time here! The rooms are spacious and clean and have a beautiful view. The hotel is clean and has incredible ocean views. Location is not the easiest to get to but had great service with the taxis. The desk would call and they would be here within 6 minutes. The breakfast was wonderful and had plenty of options. Great variety in pools and all the restaurants have delicious food for a great value

Our extended family visited to attend a wedding and reception on site. The staff were all excellent: friendly, helpful and attentive. The breakfast buffet offered hot and cold items and everything was delicious. We had 3 dinners there that were just okay. The views are breathtaking! Be advised that the hotel is in a remote location on the top of a mountain. There was no shuttle or a safe way to hike down to the town. To eat, or do any activities in Puerto Vallarta, you will have to pay for a taxi.

We stayed at Grand Miramar for 5 days and it was the BEST hotel experience we have ever had! From the moment we walked in we were greeted with smiles and our bags were taken immediately! Check in was smooth and the tour of the hotel given by Luis was great as well! The rooms were spotless and they come in to clean them everyday! The entire hotel was kept up super well and every staff member was super helpful and great! We went to the SPA located inside of the hotel and we got the couples escape which let me tell you was the best massage i have ever received in my life! The sky lounge food was AMAZING, we ate there every day because the food was just so good. Edgar took great care of us at the sky lounge and at the pool, he was a pleasure throughout our entire stay. The breakfast was very authentic and great. Getting out in town was easy (i recommend uber, they are super cheap). You have to explore downtown for the authentic part of it. The view is unmatched and the best in the city! We would definitely stay here again and again!

This hotel is worth every penny. We booked through Expedia and got a really good deal. I would recommend this hotel specifically for its cleanliness, warm friendly staff, the overall value based on its amenities - i.e gym, pools, room service as well as the great food in the restaurants and the location given that it's perched on top of a hill and away from the busy touristy area. Most of all, as you can see by some of my photos the views are phenomenal and unbeatable as compared to other hotels in the area. We had a great experience here and I would go back to this hotel in a heartbeat - highly recommended!

My wife is used to 5 star resorts and pampered services. I took a Chance on this resort and came away a hero! She is so in love with almost everything about this resort. The rooms, the service, the spa, the food and oh my God…the views! In summary we both LOVED the resort!! Everybody was so nice and professional and helpful. The room was Impeccable and the views were unmatched! We were treated so well and felt like we owned the place and treated like family. She told me she considered it on par or in some regards better than the Ritz Carlton’s she’s used to. Her spa experience was on par with the best she’s had, especially with the view. If there were a nit, it’s that it is not on the beach but then of you want views like this you won’t be. Someone gave a bad review because it’s far away from beach. Well shame on him for not knowing ahead of time. This is a perfect mountain spa resort 15 minutes from all the hustle bustle of the city life and beach. Exactly what we wanted. Thank you so much for a wonderful relaxing stay in an amazing resort. We can’t wait to come back and tell our friends about it.

Spectacular views. The staff were all very friendly, some were funny too, but all were professional and helpful at all times. Our room (609) was spacious and clean, and had an unobstructed panoramic view. There are too many things to list in this small space, so I'll just say that we will definitely be back here again. It's up on a hill so going down to the main road by foot isn't bad but you'll definitely need a ride back up.

I have stayed at many resorts and this by far has been the best place I’ve ever stayed at as far as service. Everyone is so accommodating, efficient, attentive, sweet and willing to go the extra mile. When I come back here I will def stay here again. Please continue to keep up the good work you guys were amazing!!! The only thing I would say is when filling out the pre arrival they didn’t really follow what I had on there but other than that my stay was perfect!

Definitely worth the price. Location is incredible, it's a long ways away from all the action in Puerto Vallarta, but it's nice to have a secluded place to come back to and the view is the best you are going to get. Going to dock it one star just for the long wait at the restaurant. It's absolutely beautiful on the roof but you are going to have to sit and wait for a while.

  • 5/5 Brent 4 months ago on Google
Beautiful view! It's quite the trek to get up the mountain tho, even by car although the trade off is more than worth it. They offer a wide selection of delicious breakfast every morning starting from 8 to 11, but their lunch and dinner options are a little lacking and expensive (but then again, the view is fantastic) Also, when we stayed there, there was no parking basement or garage, so be wary if you're renting a car. There's some limited space, but the parallel parking needed might be beyond some people's skill level. Plus, they have a nice gym

The property was beautiful, and the rooms were spacious. I wouldn't say up to date, but the view and location make up for it. The front desk and dining staff were disappointing. Not attentive or accommodating. This hotel will nickle and dime you with everything being an up charge, so pay attention. The spa was the best part of our trip and the staff there were excellent. Overall, to be labeled "luxury" hotel is less than what we got services wise and not worth $550 a night.

I booked the Grand Miramar resort after seeing the photos of the view & the room. My boyfriend and I brought my mom here to celebrate her belated birthday. It was all of our first times in Mexico. We had an amazing time and enjoyed the secluded & quiet resort. We booked a junior suite and it was clean, perfect view, & spacious. The pools were great and so were the drinks. On top of that the free Breakfast was delicious, we loved the food options and our waiters were awesome. We would start of the day with a full belly. Dinner at the Sky restaurant is overpriced however, for the great service, good food, and the gorgeous view, the bill was worth it. I had underestimated how much food I was ordering for us and our waiter reconfirmed if I was certain and explained that it was a lot of food. He saved us money instead of letting us over-order. I feel as though many waiters would not be as kind. The resort is on a mountain top so it is a hassle to go up and down the mountain. But the staff help you grab a taxi to the chosen destination and let you know how much it will cost. The taxis are affordable, be sure to confirm the cost & place with the driver as well before boarding. The Conchas Chinas beach is a hike down and to go up. It is a local beach so you will see a lot of locals there. On the road, there was a stench from the pipes/sewers on the walk down to the beach. It is pretty but I don’t think it’s worth going all the way down. Overall, we had an amazing experience and will definitely bring friends and family here.

This is a five star resort in every way except the food, unfortunately. The “fancier” the food the worse it is, and extremely over priced (and too large of portions). That aside, the rooms are impeccable, the employees are all very friendly and attentive, and the pools and views are world class. It is almost surreal, if you get clear weather and can enjoy the views. We intended on having a fancy dinner at the top floor restaurant and were told we should make a reso. Showed up and it was empty except for one other table inside! We quickly learned why. Unless the restaurant changes don’t waste your money there, go to a place like D’Cortez or even a street taco stand! The portions were almost disgustingly large but the food itself was almost like airplane food. My husband’s pasta (after being told his first order was unavailable) had a pool of WATER in the bottom and was enough pasta to feed a small family. If you don’t like anchovies or cream cheese, heads up the Caesar salad and carrot cake have those respective ingredients (again, I asked and was affirmed they didn’t; I realize some of this is a language barrier.) The best things to eat are: fruit (included in breakfast buffet) and the popcorn shrimp upstairs was really really tasty! Two tips for management: invite a local chef to overhaul your restaurant and make it less like a bad restaurant from 1982. Include more water in rooms - 2 small bottles of water per day is simply not enough drinking water. Also, include some mats in the gym for stretching and core. Thank you!

This place is a gem in PV. The views from the rooms and common areas overlooking the ocean are TOP notch. Nestled on the side of the mountain and surrounded by green lush vegetation, this place is somewhere I would return to if given the chance. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. The food is SUPERB (and the prices are more than right if you're bringing USD). Portions are abundant, and there's a variety to the menu that will make you eat your way through it without regrets. Highly recommend. Hospitality at its finest.

My husband and I stayed here with our 6 month old baby in September 2022. It was a nice decent stay with a breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean. The pros: Great amazing breathtaking views. Amazing amazing complimentary buffet breakfast. The room suite was spacious, very clean with lots of furniture. The hotel was kind to provide a crib for my baby. Everyone was kind at the hotel, they provided great service. The hotel was quiet no party life. Lunch, dinner and room service could be purchased at extra cost but the food was excellent, our favorite the aguachile. Highly recommended. The cons: The bed is for me the heart of the trip, and the bed was outdated it felt old, it was somewhat uncomfortable. The gym was also outdated and was hard to even find the gym hidden in the basement. The pools were also somewhat outdated and some had a little mold.

Lovely hotel with 5 star service. Only complaint is that the pool on the rooftop closed too early and the pools that are on the Main level close at 9pm , noise limits and/or adult hours would’ve been nice to enjoy the pool after dark. The rooms are quiet, AC works great and the breakfast is lovely if it’s included in your stay. The prices for Mexico are steep for anything in the resort such as room service and drinks by the pool. Another plus is that they don’t have rules regarding f bringing your own drinks or snacks to the pool this was a plus. Very chill relaxing place. Also, I’d recommend a car if you visit the taxis are too expensive.

I really can't say enough good things about the Grand Miramar. The hotel grounds are stunning, and the service is truly impeccable. The hotel staff were all so friendly, gracious, and always went above and beyond to be helpful and make sure our stay was comfortable. Though the hotel is a bit removed from neighborhoods like the Zona Romantica and the Malecon, said neighborhoods are no more than a 5 min cab ride away. That said, the hotel is so comfortable and peaceful it makes it hard to want to leave! Thank you Grand Miramar!

My stay in this resort was nothing short of magical. For the price, I wasn't expecting the level of luxury this place provides. From the beginning, staff is extremely accommodating and kind. They check each Uber's license for safety, they are prompt on any requests you may have, and they always greet you in passing. The Junior double suite is massive at 1,200sq ft with marble floors and bathrooms. The views are STUNNING from every part of this resort, but especially from the top floor restaurant and your own balcony. The food was top notch, as were the drinks. The vibe at sunset with a drink in hand and live music playing was absolutely incredible. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. The ONLY negative would be the ride up and down the hill as it is cobblestone and very bumpy, but even that is moot when you have such spectacular privacy and views. Will definitely be coming back to Grand Miramar in the future; thank you for an unforgettable trip!

We came here for a wedding and decided to stay some extra days. Perfect place for disconnecting, especially with these amazing views and the sound of nature around you, up there in the mountain. The staff is great, so accommodating and friendly. I highly recommend treating yourself with a massage, it was so, so good! Also the rooms are clean and spacious, fully equipped. Thanks for treating us so well

This hotel was really impressive, but I particularly want to complement the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, and it felt like all of the staff went out of their way to make sure whatever we needed was accommodated. The rooms are great -- spacious, great views, updated. The restaurant also has a really extensive vegan menu. Really, really enjoyed our stay here and we definitely are hoping to come back in the future.

There are many wonderful things to say about the hotel. The view was RADIANT, heaven-like. The rooms were huge and very clean and nice. The service was friendly, special shoutout to bell boys Alberto & Luis for always being so attentive & nice. We also had a very pleasant experience with Fransisco who did our check out. All that being said, I did knock off 1 star for a couple small inconveniences. One being that it was incredibly loud from 6am - 8am, and I'm not a light sleeper. Secondly, we did not have the best interaction at check-in with Irving, there was a bit of a miscommunication and the resistance on his end was not a very nice way to start the day. One more thing to note that wasn't an issue for us, but may be for someone else... the hotel is on a cobblestone road pretty far up the mountain, so the up and down was a little rough. It was okay for us because that meant we got that beautiful view, but others might feel a little trapped.

Wow! I think this should be a 5 star hotel. One of the best hotels I've stayed at. The views are the most amazing, I also loved their delicious and free breakfast. The only thing I was a little disappointed is the restaurant Eugenia. It was pricey and food was just regular, nothing special. Other than that we had a great experience. Very clean, fresh, and spacious rooms, great service. Pools were amazing, especially the pool on the upper floor overlooking the bay. As far as transportation, Uber worked great, and you can access Concha's China's beach.

5 star Experience. This stay exceeded my expectations. The property itself is beautiful! I could lounge at the rooftop pool all day. The room was massive, so much living space that it felt like home away from home. I will be returning. Enjoy these photos I took during my stay (:

Highly recommend!! Absolutely beautiful view and amazing staff. Alberto is the nicest Bellman ever. Restaurants were decent but convenient. Average round trip taxi ride into town was $500mxn. The Spa was wonderful too. If you’re like me, and don’t care about being beach front, then this is the place for you!!!
