We have stayed here for our last two trips. It is a GREAT value and a really amazing location…. The only downside is that the rooms are “hit or miss” meaning they are nice and clean or in need of repairs and dirty…. You ALWAYS want to stay in the town close to the beach, the other town sucks…. The staff is willing to work with you though and we went to 3 rooms before choosing the ones we kept for the week. We finally got a floor room right by the pool and it was pretty great!!! The staff here is amazing and super helpful! Soco is the lady at the lobby bar and she is wonderful along with Alberto, concierge staff, in the lobby as well. Our trip was amazing as usual here. The headed pool was awesome and it is huge!!! CR is always one of our top choices for this area for sure. It is overall a great location within walking distance to the harbor area and the Thursday farmers market there. There is also a TAX fee of $14US per day to stay here but parking is only $6 a day

We love club Regina Puerto Vallarta. I would advise anyone staying there to STAY OUT of their small on premise store. I was charged over $7 for Lays like stackable chips, after realizing what I paid, I returned them. Just don't understand why they would charge their guests that kind of price.😟

Date of review 82823. I would start by saying I would have no issues returning. Let me tell you why! It's 10 minutes from the airport, private beach front, 10 to 15 min taxi ride to the malecon. Location 10outta10. Rooms! Loved having two full restrooms and a full kitchen. The rooms look a little tired and outdated, but if that's not an issue, hen perfect. The bed AMAZING! Balcony with a jet tub, yes! Rooms 8outta10. Food only talking about breakfast 8outta10. Food was good and did the trick! Pools and bars areas 10outta10!

I very much enjoyed my stay at club Regina. I was very presently surprised by the comfortable pool lounge chairs. They have pillow mattresses on them, which is a very nice addition. The pool area is beautiful with all the trees and plants and the view of the ocean. The beach is pleasant and well-maintained. There are crews every morning they’re cleaning the beach. The seating is close to the water, and there was a little cove there that makes it so the water is pretty calm. The one thing that surprised me was that the rooms are dated, which didn’t seem to be reflected in the photos of the property ahead of time. In addition, the television in the room is very small and not very convenient to use. I loved the balcony and the view from the balcony to the ocean and the angle in which the property faces the ocean is also comfortable because the sun doesn’t come in very strongly in the evening, at least in October when I was there. The crew was nice, but not overly so. There is only one restaurant on the premises, the breakfast buffet was very nice, and there were à la carte options. For lunch and evening there are also good options at the restaurant. It is also nice that there is a secondary pool that is more quiet. All in all if dated design is not an issue for you I would highly recommend this property.

We were recently at Club Regina late April 2023. Have been coming here for a number of years. Every trip has been great! The location, the beautiful resort, grounds, pools and beach are fabulous. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Check in and check out are always easy and quick. They approach you about time shares but if you respectfully decline they leave you alone, that is their job. The rooms could use some updating but that is minor compared to the beautiful views. We look forward to going back each year.

This hotel hosts wedding parties that have live music and then DJs that are unbelievably loud and go until 2:00 am. It’s literally impossible to sleep. It’s so bad that I recommend calling to verify whether a wedding is scheduled during your stay. Otherwise you really won’t get any rest on your vacation.

This resort has seen much better days. The grounds and pools were beautiful. You are a close walk to the marina and a $4 cab ride to Walmart. The staff is pleasant, going above what they need to be accommodating, but the rooms are shabby, shabby, shabby. The whole property is worn. Rust on the appliances, found mold in our first room, curtains not hanging on, frayed, and dirty furniture. Go elsewhere. Put your money to much better use, which is too bad given the handy location and the friendliness of the staff.

There was an earthquake while we were there. Property was damaged. Staff were horrible with the way they handled the situation. They need to have more drills regarding disaster. At least one a month. We had a two bedroom unit with three baths, living-room and full kitchen. After being in the scorching heat for over ten hours they moved a couple traveling with another adult into the Marriott one room with double beds. In addition we had a refrigerator with freezer full of food at Club Regina and the Marriott only had a mini bar. I do not recommend this resort.

I’ve come here maybe 5 times over the past 18 years. Four years ago we brought our adult children and had a nice time-the pool is always nice and the rooms were okay back then. I remember the staff was great.. Last year I came with three friends and I was slightly embarrassed by the rooms.. outdated and bathroom was gross. My husband and I are here and the room is below satisfactory - stains on the chairs and the bathroom is beyond filthy. The soap scum on the shower doors is sub par. The tile (and the apparent repairs) looks I installed it- I have zero tile experience. High pressure to always upgrade membership but I would not ever entertain investing anything with the state of the room. The way the bathroom looks I’d qualify this place as 2 star.

We had an amazing time. The views of the sunset are amazing from this location. It's close to the Marina and a lot of shops and eateries are within walking distance. A couple of things that I would consider Is more elevators accessible in each building. We were only able to find one elevator to our building, and then stairs were available from what we could find. And another quirky thing is the pool towels were not picked up from our room when we returned from the beach. The towel hut was closed and the guest services desk was closed so we left our towels in the room but they were not picked up with the other towels. Come to find out that we had to return them to the towel hut or guest services when we were finished with him . And it could be a it could be A me thing. It's not a big deal just something that I thought was quirky. The massage on the beach was amazing.

This resort is older and small, but clean and well kept. It offers a couple of places to eat and the food is good and in large portions. It is located near the marina, so restaurants and shopping are within walking distance. It is a very safe area and we were never scared while on or off the resort. The major disappointment was the service. Usually in Mexico you get a grand welcoming and everyone at the resort seems genuinely happy that you are there. That was NOT the case at Club Regina Puerta Vallarta. From check in to check out we only came across one person (Alberto) who I would give an A+ rating. At the pool bar NO ONE seemed happy or willing to wait on us (Natalie was especially bad). It was as if we were a nuisance. We are generous tippers, and that didn't even work. Each of them could have made so much more money if they had been friendly or willing to help. There was also a much bigger language barrier on this resort than any other I have ever visited (and that is a lot). Not sure we will be back or that we would encourage others to visit.

Very nice timeshare hotel. Mostly families and senior couples. Beautiful pool with excellent service, drinks and food. The breakfast buffet was good. Although don't eat from the buffet, instead try the cook to order egg station. It'll be fresh and hot. The dinner buffet was very pricey and not good at all. Someone needs to check the burners on the buffet. The food is not kept hot at all. The rooms are old, but very spacious and comfortable. I had a lovely pool view. Overall quite satisfied and would definitely return!

This hotel has kid friendly pools . It has nice rooms. The location is nice and quiet. I have a six-year-old. So we're looking for a new hotel to go to every year. So we tried this hotel.. Everything was good. Except for when checked in. Supposedly, if available, we could check in early at 3. If not, checking was at 4. We did not get one of the Rooms till 5:30, and thats because we went up to the front desk and had to ask them what was going on. Supposedly, Something happened with the paperwork on their end. We have a six-year-old who wanted to get into the swimming pool as soon as we got there. It was very hard to make her wait. And in our second room, we didn't get it till 745pm. I had to go ask if our second room was ready. They had my number They were supposed to call me as soon as the second room was ready. Not happy. The only thing I would warn people about. Is the checking in and them not having rooms ready? But they do want you out early when check out. We got an early call at 10 o'clock. Asking us if we were ready to check out. So when visiting this hotel, plan ahead. You're not gonna get your room till late. And they are going to want you to check out earlier than regular checking out.

Number one best part of this experience is amazing and friendly staff! Other highlights include a beautiful property, plenty of lounge chairs and cabanas on the beach, beach/poolside service, and family friendly activities all included. So happy I booked another stay before I even left!

The staff is amazing. Job and Antonio on the activities staff are fantastic, and the bellman Alberto is outstanding. The rooms are three stars (they need a little TLC, but they're very clean), but everything else is 5 star. And you CANNOT beat the location. Beautiful.

First was their readiness to accommodate my special needs from assisting with wheelchair movement to even making bathroom modifications. Room service for meals was top notch and reasonable, including our first dinner of whole red snapper served on a classic black skillet. Yummy. Tough to find anything to complain about which itself is a most positive overall statement. We've stayed many times before, but this anniversary trip stands out as extraordinary and memorable.

Spacious rooms with nice showers and a kitchen. Location near the marina is nice. We had four suites across our extended family and there was a huge difference in how each was stocked. Some had six sets of dishes, others had fewer sets or even random numbers. The service was good but not stellar. The activities for kids, however, are awesome! My younger kids really enjoyed them! Worthwhile for a family vacation.

The room was nice except did not have view of ocean. Very good internet. The cleaning staff, Alberto, and Montserrat in the front were exceptionally helpful. The gift shop is too expensive! Loved the pool and bar and food service! There needs to be bit more evening activities! Thank you, from Yukon Canada.

Since the moment we walked in, the staff was courteous and welcoming! Angie welcomed us to the resort and was very fun and informational. She was awesome! The resort is next to the beach so no matter where you are, you have a clear view. I recommend checking out the small bar in the lobby. The rooms were clean and spacious. Equipped with a kitchenette. Utensils, pans for cooking, plates, cups, shot glasses, fridge, microwave. Very helpful! I love the hot tubs in the balcony. The club offers a variety of activities and amenities. We had complementary breakfast and let me tell you.... It was a buffet style Mexican food breakfast far. It was delicious!! From the pastries to the omelet bar. The complementary activity we opted in for was the FUNtastic city tours. We had a full day of adventures. They drove us in an air conditioned van around to visit historical areas in the malecon. Our tour guide Daniel was accommodating, fun, and knowledgeable, gave us waters, took us to a jewelry store, candy shop to try Mexican authentic candy, along with others. We also went up to tbe mountains to have tequila tasting We had tbe opportunity to see monkeys, swim in the river, and everything came with a shot! Cheers! My first reaction was that I wanted to share this with everyone! DO THE TOUR!! Back to the resort, the beach was very calming with a beautiful view. I recommend sunset pictures here. The pool is also fresh and has an ocean view. You have access to the bar there. This place left me very impressed and I cannot wait to go back! Note 1: we didn't want the inclusive food since we were exploring town more than anything, but Inizio had a beautiful view and the food was tasty. I saw so many hummingbirds!! Pricing was okay. Note 2: it is easy to Uber to places from here Note 3: There are convenience stores nearby. I recommend buying your own bottle there for a cheaper deal. Note 4: you will see beautiful iguanas Note 5: Timeshare sales. They will try to sale you timeshares.

I was invited as a guest to this locale and as a guest I was very pleased and impressed. The rooms are very nice, spacious and we'll lit. The poolside service was a bit slow but then again there is an acreage of pool space to tend to. The Ceasar Salad with Chicken was very good. The grounds well maintained. Plenty of activities available if one wishes to participate. Predominantly a "family" setup. Lots of children.

The rooms are out dated and require updating and renovations. The outside pool areas are nice, but that was the only nice thing of the resort. We stayed here for a full week on vacation, and appreciated the location. However, the main reason for my low rating is that we had come to find out that items had gone missing from our rooms. Both purchased souvenirs, and personal items look to have been taken. I have never written a review before, but this issue was too great not to note. If you stay here, I recommend a locking your items away when you’re not in your room, and even go as far as having a camera to monitor. Can’t seem to find a solution with the resort either, what an absolute joke of service. Disheartening way to end a vacation, never again.

4 stars for the room and pool staff for friendly and nice service and my kayak tour at the hotel and restaurant and the bellboy service. The small fitness center was clean and decent too. If my dear friends did not get married here, I would not have stayed and would knock this down to 1 star, but I'll give my experience 2 stars. Personally, I will never stay here again and I recommend against this place not because of the hotel but purely because of the Timeshare experience and staff. The pushing of the timeshare, the meeting is ridiculous and the last thing someone should experience on vacation. The second I turn around to being told, I want some information. I'm not familiar with anything timeshare related, and so I felt taken advantage of severely, furthermore mansplained and a manipulation of words during me meeting. Never again. The rooms, linens a lot of things here are outdated. This is a hotel that does the best they can, too bad. The best part of the hotel is beach access and view, which actually has nothing to do with the stay. If this id within your budget, just manavr your expectations. Personally, I think there are other comparable places to check out.

Nice location in the marina with varying views of the ocean depending on room. Daily maid service, pool with swim up bar for drinks and food. Not and all inclusive and there is timeshare pressure.

Great location. Staff is hit or miss, some understand hospitality, others act as if you are an inconvenience. Accommodations are beyond the need for renovation. The property should be leveled and rebuilt. Our first room was dirty, the hot tub had stains, mold everywhere in the bathroom, all fixtures were worn, stained, beat up. Second room was not much better. After seeing our room, they wanted to sell us a time share, we mentioned we would never stay there again and they blamed the condition of our room on Booking.com!

My father has been a club member for many years, and this year I came without him, with my husband. We had an absolutely wonderful and relaxing vacation. The staff is all very wonderful and friendly, especially Alberto, Rina, and ALL the staff down by the pool/ocean. Alberto especially made sure to greet us any time that he saw us, one of the most genuine and friendly staff I have ever worked with at Club Regina.

The staff was really friendly and helpful. The food is not very good and way overpriced for what it is. You can save money by not eating at the hotel just a 5 minute walk to some nice restaurants. If you need snacks or drinks walk across the street to the oxxo you will save a ton the market at the hotel is 80 percent higher. The room was clean but really outdated. Overall we enjoyed the place . Very nice pool also seemed to be more retirement community so it was quiet. The hotel is literally on the beach but not the best for swimming.

Not only is it a beautiful location but the service was impecable, spa was AMAZING, food was delicious and conference facilities were perfect! There were a couple of times when they ran out of refreshments and miscommunications about the lines for serving, but it was bearable! I want to mention specifically Maria in Housekeeping and masseuse, Rogelio in The Spa!! They made my stay perfect! See you next year!

This resort is literally paradise. The art and architecture is lovely and the rooms are extremely comfortable and lush. I really enjoyed my time lounging by the pool, all the hotel employees were so welcoming, funny and on top of their game. Their drinks are delicious, I'd recommend a (double) mango margarita. Drink that by the pool or on the beach and you'll be living large, my friend. Love this place, can't wait to go back. 💯 Also, iguanas!!! 😍

Great family Resort with ample rooms with fully equipped kitchen. Amazing views, perfect location within Marina Vallarta. 5 minutes from Airport. Amazing restaurants and nightlife in one of the fastest growing beach ports in México.

Nice club, nice hotel, nice location but the infrastructure of the rooms seems old and it looks like it hasn't been renewed in a while.

  • 3/5 curtis c. 1 year ago on Google
Hotel is dated but not too bad. The restaurant is lousy and the service was poor. The margaritas are so sour they are hard to drink, even when upgrading to Cadillac. They also push thier time share. We sat through it and they pushed hard to make us sign up right now! 10 year minimum, and with "maintenance " fees it would have been $26k over 10 years for a week a year use. I was able to get this vacation for far less including flights. I doubt we'll come back to this resort.

Attended a friend's wedding and had a good evening, great food and a great view of the Vallarta Bahia. Spend the the night left in the morning. Overall would recommend the hotel and it's amenities.

This hotel is nice, it has big pools, clean and big rooms and the staff is friendly. The location is great, but not close to the malecon where all the action happens. Perfect place for families or retired people. Something that I didn't like about this place is that the staff approached the very first day to try to invite you to a free breakfast, and followed with a very long conversation about some kinds of memberships. This is not nice if you are going to relax and spend time with family, because they are really persistent. Other thing that I could complain about is that the taxi service from this hotel is not honest, I left my cellphone there and the driver didn't want to leave it in the lobby, instead he ask me to pay him for his time to deliver and ask me money for it, at the second day I order a taxi so they call a driver and it was the same guy. Don't trust these people!

I stayed at Club Regina last month, which was my second time there. The first time was good, no complaints really. This time was drastically different. When we arrived we were given a room that was old, dirty, and in dire need of renovations. The bathroom was most notably disgusting. The couch pullout bed was incredibly uncomfortable. I woke up on our second day with back and neck pain. I asked for a different room and the front desk advised me that it was not possible, even though I was willing to pay extra for a different room. Fine, I wasn't going to let that ruin our trip. We enjoyed a couple of days poolside, which was nice except for the fact that food and drink service at the pool was exceptionally slow. I booked a different room through expedia just to get a decent night's sleep but a few hours later decided it was not worth it. The hotel staff refused to refund my money despite expedias 24 hour free cancelation policy. They were so unhelpful. Now, fast forward to our 4th day here. A major earthquake hit the west coast of Mexico. The building was not in great shape to begin with and during the earthquake part of our ceiling fell in. So, my friend and I ran outside quickly and while I was running, I sprained my ankle pretty badly. Now OBVIOUSLY this was nobody's fault as it was a natural disaster. But the hotel doctor evaluated me and advised me to go to the hospital and that the hotel would cover the cost of the ER visit. Afterwards, hotel management refused to reimburse me and told us that there was nothing they could do. They gave us no help, no assistance, no updates regarding the building's safety, nothing. The earthquake happened around 1pm and they didn't start relocating guests until 8pm. The whole situation was so poorly managed it's difficult to understand how they are in hospitality. I was unable to walk or even stand because my ankle was so sprained, I honestly felt that they could care less that I was injured. My entire stay was so mismanaged and really ruined the whole trip. Very disheartening, and I won't be back. I'd further advise anyone else not to stay here in the near future, as the building's structure may be compromised since they told us that the first 8 floors are not safe.

Booked this hotel for 1 night because my flight was delayed. The hotel has an awkward layout and the showers are very old and dirty, the water changes temps while you are showering. I didn't see a hot jacuzzi, the jacuzzi I saw was the same temp as the pool. The beds were really hard and the walls are thin. We could hear people partying , walking up and down the hallways. This hotel is ok for a 1 or 2 nighter but I would never stay here for a week or longer. I guess it was priced well though and we were lucky they had a room available on a Saturday night.

Had a few issues today. Not the resorts fault, but an earthquake. 7.6 magnitude. All safe, bit had to move.

I read several reviews of Club Regina before my visit in June 2022 and I feel it's necessary to set the record straight with a fair honest review. Let me start by saying I visit Puerto Vallarta regularly for work so I'm familiar with the area, the resorts, the food, the culture, and the prices. For this particular visit I traveled with my wife and we were in Puerto Vallarta for pleasure, not business. First off, I'm going to give this place a very solid 4.5 / 5 stars. I was very impressed with the resort overall, the grounds, the rooms, the bed, the pool, the beach access and beach loungers, as well as the service and dining options. Checkin was very smooth, quick and friendly. After checkin we were approached very briefly about a time share which we kindly declined and then were not bothered about it again for our entire 5 day trip. Honestly, if you're visiting PVR you should plan on being approached about time shares everywhere you go, Club Regina was the most respectful and least pushy (Vidanta is the worst, avoid those sales reps unless you want your time wasted). Our room was really clean and spacious with a very comfortable king size bed. Our view of the beach and the ocean were absolutely breathtaking from the 13th floor. Obviously this resort is not brand new so some things were a little dated, but for the price you pay per night I felt it exceeded expectations! The couches, chairs, kitchen, bathrooms, and beds were very clean. Room service came by each day to clean the room and they were very helpful with providing extra towels and toiletries. The staff working to keep the pool and the grounds clean did a great job. Also drink and food service pool side was quick and friendly. We provided our room number and they simply charged the card on file which made ordering very convenient. We ate at Inizio for dinner one night during our stay and the food was great! I ordered the salmon and my wife had fettuccini. The food came quickly and was served hot. The lighting and mood of this restaurant on the beach during sunset were everything you'd hope for when eating near the beach in Puerto Vallarta. All of that said, if you're looking for an affordable, nice, comfortable beach side stay in Puerto Vallarta this is your place!
