Nice hotel with good location, good size rooms, friendly staff, and a good view from the rooftop pool/bar. We only have a few critiques: -A better remote for the air conditioner as it took my pushes off the buttons for the machine to accept the commands -No gate and/or better keys as it’s locked at night. Believe it or not it wasn’t easy to open with the keys provided, especially when tipsy, and that was trying our keys and another couple we made friends with too. -Obviously this is an adults only hotel in a very gay friendly party area… The hotel does allow a singular guest during the day but none after 11pm, which would be prime time to bring a “friend” by for a quick visit… - Wish the Pool was open past 9pm to chill and drink. Overall we had a good experience for the price and would consider booking again.

This is a great little hotel. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Samantha helped us get a vivid test reservation, Eden always had a smiling face, Rameses had great restaurant recommendations, and Angle hooked it up with the coffee. But the staffer at the tippy top is Jorge the bartender on the roof top. He makes amazing drinks, keeps a safe, fun environment and makes sure everyone is welcomed. Jorge for the win. Only advise for them would be to apply some anti-slip strips in the shower. Gravity grabs you really quickly if you're not paying attention.

This is our second time staying here and has become our go-to place in Vallarta. Both times we had a room with a king size bed which was very comfortable. The rooms were clean, the water consistently hot, and the staff--so friendly and hospitable. In fact, we recognized two staff members from last year who have worked here for years and they recognized us. For the past couple of days we've been saying to each other: "We really like this place!"

The hotel was cheap and conveniently located (though up a hill/lots of stairs). I hate leaving a bad review, but there were BED BUGS in our room. The hotel said they would refund us, but after numerous attempts to get the refund, we still have not heard back from the hotel. No communication at all. This is disappointing.

Great hotel ,,great bar service . Friendly, but just wish you could bring your own beverages . I understand the bar is supposed to help generate employment but it should still be the guests choice who’s paying to stay there if they want to pay premium prices for drinks . Wish when I booked the hotel it told me the pool would only be restricted to bar service during peak times.

This is a very simple and very clean small hotel. The staff is super friendly, and there's a bar and dipping pool on the roof where you can see the bay. This is a great value for your pesos.

The service was really great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were good. The view from their rooftop bar is so beautiful, I wish we had more time to enjoy the view everyday. The bathroom had ants. This was our first time in PV so unsure if that's a common issue there. I think they travel up from the shower drain. There's no soundproofing so it can very loud. We're on the 3rd floor right under the rooftop bar so we would hear chairs being moved around and music playing until the bar closes at 9ish pm.

I am already planning my second trip after a week at Amaca recently. My mind keeps wandering back to the rooftop pool (with the most incredible view of the sunset) and the deliciously fresh poolside drinks. Staff were super friendly and helpful. The area was beautiful and perfect for a couple's getaway.

I've stayed at Amaca three times in a row and it has become my home away from home. I love the staff who always make me comfortable and greet me with a smile and hug. The rooftop sunsets, afternoons in the sun, and bar are perfect. The hotel is clean, comfortable and cozy. I love the fact too, that it's adults only. The beach, restaurants and bars are only a short walk away, too. I've met so many wonderful people through the years... some I now call, friends. I almost don't want to say too many good things because I'm afraid it will sell out! 🤣 That's why I'm glad I already booked for my fourth visit, next year! 😊 ♥️

Staff, location and room were fine! Only issues were our wifi broke midway through the stay and it took a day to get back, and the water jug they supplied leaked everywhere twice.

Staff were wonderful and very attentive, kind and friendly. WiFi was good, breakfast and coffee were great and the pool upstairs is a wonderful place to sit and relax. The hotel is in a great location, with a beautiful overlook of the ocean. Rooms are not noisy besides a little bit of door banging in the mornings (some soft close door additions would go a long way!) But beds were comfortable and rooms were clean and tiny. Sheets super soft, good working air con and showers were good and hot. We would stay again for sure.

My wife and I have stayed at Amaca many times. The rooftop pool & bar and the room’s private patios are a relaxing treat. Having no children, I enjoy the tranquility Amaca offers as an adults only property (No offense to kiddos!) while still being a short walk to Vallarta’s shops and restaurants. I especially appreciate the private parking and super friendly & helpful 24hr staff for safety and local recommendations. It appears the owners or managers have been renovating and the new decor looks great with a clean, stylish boho meets modern esthetic. I’ll definitely return as I have never had anything but a great experience there.

Beautiful spot and super friendly staff! Love it here! If you're in the area, you won't be disappointed!

The place is clean, it isn't the luxury or modern hotel but you can feel peace... My only complain is the location, you feel like if you were climbing a mountain, but once you get there, you can rest winging on the amaca.

Very nice roof top pool, and the bartender is just amazing, that view is priceless, the rooms are very comfortable. Location is also perfect… not in the middle of all the action but not far either just a 2 block walk and you will get all the action you need.

Hotel is ok for the price. No hot water, toilet wouldn’t flush, and the pool was freezing. Friendly staff and view from the rooftop was pretty.

Great room, very spacious and clean with a view in the ocean. The rooftop is the perfect spot to enjoy the sunset, in the pool while sipping a cocktail. Hotel staff is super nice too.

Such an amazing stay! The location is excellent! The service is unbeatable and the most comfortable beds EVER! the sheets are super soft...I cannot say enough about this hotel! First time staying here and for sure not the last one! We stayed for 10 nights, and we want more! Thanks for such a great vacation! We'll see you soon Armando and Brian

Great area near all the action. Is a bit of a hike to get to so if you have mobility issues, this may not be suited for you. Internet was horrible from my room. The staff are exceptional. Very helpful. Rooms were decent and comfortable.

Intimate, romantic feeling hotel! The staff were all very friendly, courteous, and the beds were super comfy. It's only a few blocks away from all the fun bars and restaurants, and there's a little tram you can take during busy hours instead of the stairs. There was a lot of construction in the area, (we went in August) so during the day there was the sounds of jackhammers and other equipment. The noises all stopped by 6pm every day. We always went out or enjoyed the rooftop pool, though, so the noise wasn't an issue.

This place doesn’t have all the bells and whistles. But it’s exactly what we needed! Clean, comfortable, reliable, and close to everything. Its a bonus that the room is nicely decorated and the ocean view room had a HUGE balcony. It’s a fantastic home base to explore the rest of PV. Feels good to choose a small business to support. Easy check in / check out process, friendly and dependable front desk staff. The bathroom was very clean and NOT smelly which was important to me. Bed was also comfortable. My only suggestion is for sinks to have liquid soap dispensers and for there to possibly be an ice machine.

Clean basic hotel, friendly and helpful staff in a fairly quiet area. It's far enough away from 200 but still might hear a few of the Mexican trucks who have an strange obsession with their Jake brakes. The beach is a 5 to 10 minute walk and 10 minute walk to the Zona Romantica. If you prefer an Uber ride, it's 40 to 60 pesos to where most places close by. We took an Uber to Casa Kimberly for around 50 pesos and then walked back via the Cuale river. They are working on a small cafe on the garden level and hopefully it will be open when we book next time.🙂

Small friendly hotel with a small rooftop pool and bar. Quiet, adults only.

Hotel Amaca is my 100% go to for a hotel in Vallarta! The rooms are clean and incredibly comfortable, with a beautiful minimal boho style that is a lovely visual palate cleanser during vacations from a world that can be a bit overstimulating at times. The rooftop dipping pool makes it a treat to stay any time during the year, and the view is just stunning. Most notably, the staff is one of a kind in the sense of family they offer. Kind, generous, and very welcoming. All the stars for you, Amaca!✨💫✨

2nd time staying here, and had another great experience! These guys care about their guests, and take time to remember you, remember the room you are in, and are super helpful! You will have to request housekeeping if you need it, due to COVID. I also asked to extend my stay at the last minute, due to a flight change, and they happily accommodated. The pool & bartender there are amazing. Great views of the ocean & mountains. There were tiny ants in the room (which did not bother me, because I've experienced similar in other hotels in Mexico) and they have different construction standards. They just crept in from the outside. Otherwise, the service here is great. If you ask, they will help you with anything you need. They will give recommendations for places to visit, places to eat, etc.. They speak very good english and are very welcoming of travelers.
