Los Muertos Hostal

Youth hostel

😠 Workers are not attentive at all. My flight was delayed last minute by 5 hours, and workers told me that I’ll have to find somewhere else to stay. Problem is everything else is booked and so I’ll likely be sleeping on the street tonight. Absolutely heartless. People often mention hostel, stay, location, staff, clean, nice, great, beach, Great,

Excellent location, just steps from Los Muertos beach right in the heart of all the action at Puerto Vallarta. Its quite literally walking distance to most places that you would want to go. Very clean throughout. Some of the staff/volunteers were very very nice especially Alex and the other guys who worked during the days. Unfortunately, I did not find the bed very comfortable. The property is pretty small, only 4 rooms plus the very small common spaces. Multiple bathrooms/showers in the rooms would have been nice but its a small space so not really feasible. They do have an extra bathroom and shower outside in the common area though if the one in your room is occupied. Good place to stay on a budget but its very bare bones so be prepared for that.

If you want to have a bad time, go to this place. The workers are not attentive, the air conditioning does not work well, they turn it on only at night and it wets the whole floor of the room. And the workers are terrible.

Great price/quality. Friendly staff and great location. Shower pressure and temperature is very nice. 4 stars because check in went wrong (waited hour) and airco was too cold and couldn't be turned down till a staff member saved me at 4am. Since these mistakes could happen and the manager was trying his best to solve it, still give 4 stars. The beds are very spacious too. I'm tall and can stick my feet out so that's wonderful. Recommended place to stay. I don't think you'll be as unlucky as me. Enjoy your stay!

The location is perfect, right next to beach, the hostel is also newly renovated. However it's quite overpriced 350/500 (high season) walk in price, 250 MXN on Hostelworld. You have to put sheets on your own bed, meanwhile the volunteers and staff hang around. It's super hot during the day, and they only turn on the AC after 10pm. For 500 you can get a nice big hotel room with breakfast, for two people better not stay at a hostel.

Really nice hostel with friendly staff who are more than happy to have a few drinks with the guests! Pretty strict policy to keep the noise down after ten. Beds are comfortable (recommend that they put in curtains though). Feels very new and clean. Great location close to the beach and amidst the busier restaurant area with bars within a few minutes walk. Very nice brewery two blocks away. About 10-15 minutes walk to the busy bars/clubs.

Awful. I’ve asked to turn on an a/c even for 10 minutes to get rest after flight but pleasant administrator said he will not going to do that coz it is only available at night time. Well I’m enjoying of your care.

Very friendly staff, close to the beach and the bus stop, cleanliness quite good, everything seems to be new. They offer the necessary services of a hostel: fridge, two electric outlets per bed, air conditioning, enough space and security to storage belongings. Although I went on Wednesday, there was a good bilingual social atmosphere; however, they respected the curfew at 11 pm. Andrei was very nice and helpful with me, he showed me the best option to travel cheap and Sebastian is a great guy that is going to become your friend immediately. Greetings!

Had an incredible stay at Los Muertos Hostel! Very comfortable beds and clean rooms. The hostel is in a very central location and is right beside the beach! Very friendly and attentive staff. Andrei was a great host and super accommodating, he gave me lots of great recommendations of places to go to around the area. Definitely one of the best hostels I have stayed in! Highly recommend this place!! Will return soon.

Nice place to stay. The only bad thing is not their fault but the outside of the street smells like garbage.

Comfy beds, 2 or more power outlets, fan and AC plus complimentary coffee. Very nice hostal in a great location, at night could hear music and people in the streets but didn't bother me too much. I would recommend the owner to change the lock hinges since they are a bit too small for ordinary sized pad locks.

One of the best hostels I have ever seen. Pristine condition. The entire place was immaculately clean. The staff was exceptionally friendly (and handsome). The space was well designed, and the beds were comfortable. Plus the location cannot be beat! I will stay here again and again.

Siempre que vengo a Vallarta, el Hostal Los Muertos es la mejor opcion, su ubicacion, sus precios y sobre todo su gente que trabaja ahí, hace que mis estancia sea la mejor. This hostel is by far its most convenient option to stay. Meet other travelers, the facilities are clean and safe, really close to the beach and bars, the best experience 👌dare you to try.

I hated this hostel, probably one of the worst stays at a hostel I had in Mexico, BUT I met some cool people and made some friends here - so I can’t give it a bad rating. Shout out to Andrei, Sammy and Priscilla. BAD: - They only turn on AC in your room AFTER 10pm up to 9am - you only go there to sleep, you cannot survive the heat during the day inside this hostel. - There is NOT enough light ANYWHERE in this hostel, if you want to do work here - the heat and lack of light makes it unbearable. GOOD - Great location. There’s a 5 min walk Starbucks nearby to get some AC, and great lighting to work - Friendly people I met when I stayed here - One of the better/best options in this particular zone for Hostels
