The resort is not a modern "all-inclusive" resort but a great budget or traditional/authentic all-inclusive option. It is an older place, but the price mostly reflects the location and not the service, pool, food, or drinks. There are many cool elements of this hotel and grounds. One of the highlights is Mariana at guest services... always smiling, always helpful, made our stay so much better! ... and always there!

This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The staff tried to sell me a timeshare when I arrived saying it was their sister hotel that actually had a beach. (The beach isn’t connected to the hotel at all.) The buffet had long wait times so I couldn’t ever make it for breakfast. The buffet was also incredibly small with very few options. My doorknob handle didn’t latch very well, so sometimes you could just pushed the door open. The pool was small and crowded. Avoid this place.

Had the best time here at the beginning of July. Went with my group of friends. Was calm and quiet and rooms were clean and very nice. Buffet food was great. The beach club is at an okay spot, a few blocks to walk or you can take hotel transport for free there. Hung by the pool lots, area is pretty chill. The poolside bars open past midnight. Service was excellent here, the kitchen manager specifically was outgoing and helped me out when my phone got water in it by giving me some rice to try and fix it. For the price of the place, I absolutely can't say anything bad our stay was near perfect. Definitely would come back!

Our group has been staying there for approximately eight years, some of us about four years. over the last four years there has been a major decline in quality of product and service at the hotel. Maintenance and repairs are nonexistent. We had to change our hotel room twice as the door did not lock, one time, another guest walked into our room they had a copy of our room key. The food is specifically for senior citizens. You never have to chew it. It’s almost a purée. Any cafeteria would serve better food than what they have. If you look at the pictures online, it looks nothing like it anymore. They’re clientele is primarily American and Canadian visitors but yet they serve no bacon no ham or sausage for breakfast. Their Mexican night is the poorest example of Mexican food downtown is 1000% better quality product. The hotel only offers a few nights a week with entertainment. They cut back from seven nights a week and it is very minimal basically telling you to go to bed at 9 o’clock in the evening or 10 four nights . Laura at the front desk is outstanding, but clearly their chef should be fired, and their senior management need to reevaluate where they are in business. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone anymore. Stay at the Hacienda Grand downtown much nicer, better quality product. It’s very sad they let this hotel get in this shape and the food so disgusting.

3 stars...good service friendly staff.....the beach is about a block and a half away from the hotel...when I was there they did offer a shuttle service to the beach...but we walked a few times.....just an fyi the sun gets blocked by a giant building a good chunk of the day when at the beach...we meandered further down the beach a titch....didn't go into the water ...was there for the tan...the food was good...the pool was good....lots of locals stay there as well....more a family vibe...this hotel isn't really for the people that want to go out and get hammered..although you can. But expect to pack it in by 9....we took the bus to the malecon...that was an experience very fast...and walked around puerto vajarta from drop off point..found an old church bought a rosary....didn't go into the romantic zone fully.....there is a Starbucks about a block down the main road going toward city center( 8 minute walk) to the left ( toward marina on main road)there is a grocery store 4 minute walk away...and I believe walmart is further down somewhere heading in the same direction as the grocery store... all in all 3 stars wasn't anything to write home about wasn't a hot mess.....oh ps...head to the grocery store and get your own water...don't rely on bottled water from the front desk.

The place is an all inclusive hotel, the food is typical Mexican cuisine with a large variety of dishes and a nice swimming pool within the premises. The place is a 4-story villa with about 100 rooms but sadly there is no elevator. The rooms are clean and there's plenty of options as to what to do for fun whether alone or with your family, I would avoid the people by the front desk who want to give you a small discount if you visit one of their hotels where they practically want to force you to buy a timeshare which they now conveniently call them memberships... enjoy it my dear friends

What a memorable time! I was initially skeptical of this hotel based off of these reviews, but when I got there I realised these reviews were incorrect! The service at this hotel was incredible. Everyone was smiling and willing to help! While the rooms were a bit dated, they were still clean and I only had some minor issues with them. The food was incredible and the chefs at this place deserve all of our respect. This hotel really has a "Mexican Charm"! I would 100% recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Puerto Vallarta! It is a hidden gem!

Very charming, family-friendly property. Not too many young people trying to party, mainly families or couples. The rooms are clean, with great water pressure, and the ac works almost too good. Very close to the marina/port, Wal-Mart, the mall, and other restaurants. There is also a beach in walking distance. The food was okay, nothing amazing. It might have been better if the temperature was consistent. Some things that should have been warm were not. The concierge will also schedule a trip over to their other properties and try to sell you a travel plan. I wouldn't consider it a time share and was actually a great deal if you plan to consistently come back to Puerto vallarta each year. Of course, the concierge will also schedule your other excursions as well. Overall, I enjoy my stay at Hacienda. It was a great value.

The place offers good rooms and nice amenities to stay trough the night and the beach is close to the hotel. But the rest of the all inclusive experience ranges from decent to just creepy. The service itself is really varied. Some of the personnel went out of their way to make us feel great while others were plainly rude. The food is not good and there is a massive queue just to enter the restaurant, which is understaffed. The pool is crowded most of the time. I got the overall feeling that they just didn't have the capacity to attend the amount of people sleeping here. And then there are the policies of the hotel. From the staff leaving us threatening notes to leave one hour before the checkout to the receptionist saying that we are to blame that we didn't wake up at 6 am if we didn't want an hour of waiting time to the restaurant, to the cleaning staff taking the medicine of one of my friends. When she complained, security went unprompted to search her room to "find the missing medicine". They didn't even knock. I wouldn't recommend at all. Just find a better rated place, especially if you come alone.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is pretty nice, only a short walk to the beach. The pool is nice. The buffet food was pretty bad, but the themed nights had good food. They had live music every night we were there, but sometimes it went a little late (it’s very loud in the rooms). There’s no nightlife at the resort other than the live music near the pool in the evening. We would probably stay in the romantic zone next time, but it was a decent time here!

My partner and I stayed for two nights, from June 16th to June 18th. First night was fine, no complaints. It was after the second day that our trip was completely ruined. We went back to our room after lunch only to find a letter from housekeeping saying we were fined for misuse of whites. When we inquired to front desk we were shown a blurry photo of a pink stain on a pillow case with no indication of it being on our room. No proper procedure was followed by the employee, as he was only listing possibilities of what might have happened, all of which we denied. After we denied any of the possibilities, the fine was dropped and we were only given a warning. Once we were home and unpacking, my partner noticed his clothes were arranged differently than he had originally placed (our bags were not checked at the airport, nor open since they were carry-on), and he was missing money from one of the mesh pockets. It seems that after cleaning our room they stole our money and tried to scam us for even more. We are really disappointed and frustrated because the rest of the stay was okay and staff were kind, but this situation was violating therefore we cannot recommend others to stay here.

I stayed here with my husband for our 1 year anniversary. It was a complete waste of money. The hotel is so small. All it has is a pool. There is only 1 place to eat plus a restaurant. However, the food is disgusting and it made us literally sick. The check in process ran late on their part. The customer service was okay but the overall experience was poor. We were more upset that we went then not celebrating our anniversary at all. It was definitely the worst vacation I’ve ever been on. I regret it with my whole heart.

Loved this property. Very close to the airport, no actual beach access but there is a shuttle system but I didn’t take advantage of it. Staff were top notch, polite, pleasant and extremely helpful. My only complaint is smoking should not be allowed in the inside courtyard area either on the balconies or the main ground floor. Tried to enjoy my balcony but the cigarette stink would drive me off the balcony. If you want to smoke do it where the stink won’t affect others.

Where to begin. This place exceeded our expectations by a land side. Everything in the reviews are people who are too picky. You definitely get what you pay for and some. Drinks all day, the food was nice and fresh, the water in the room was hot, rooms clean, and the staff AMAZING. Everyday we came to the pool and Miriam greeted us with the most beautiful smile and hospitality. She made sure we were comfortable and had a drink in our hand at all times. I plan to bring my whole family back in the near future. But I can’t emphasize enough the kindness from Miriam. She is now our friend and I couldn’t have asked for a better pool staff.

We stayed during the slower days of the week. It was very calm, the staff friendly. The food is varied. You can find stuff you like, and there will probably be stuff you don't. I think that's intentional so there's something for everyone. The beach site had the chairs a bit too close together for our liking, so we didn't stay long, but it wasn't that bad since we walked around a bit. The wifi is great in public locations, but very difficult to connect in the rooms. I don't think it's their fault, probably the material of the building makes it hard for signal to reach. I had a need for the business center, but it wasn't very private or quiet. It's located next to the entrance so you're right by the foot and road traffic. Perhaps the evening is a better time for use of it. Drinks were good, and it was an overall pleasant stay.

The staff were wonderful!BUT music was played way past the time it was supposed to. We were told things would quiet down at 20pm . It is now 11:30 and the horrible noise is still going on. Peace and quiet after 10 we were told. I can put up with the very salty food but I need a good night's sleep

The place is in a great location by super market and close to the airport. Your only a few minutes from the Malecón. Right next door to the Marina if you were to plan any water excursions. The Hotel has a great restaurant that has a decent buffet and great staff . The pool was nice with a cabana were you can get your drinks and a quick bite to eat. The mixed drinks were ok. The resort had a Mexican style to it very cozy . I wouldn't mind coming back to this place when come back to visit Jalisco

    - Cons Reserving via Paypal is not worth, they won't figure out what happened with your money and you will have to double pay. My family didn't feel secure the whole time we were on our room, we decided to check out early because we didn't feel comfortable. There's no HOT Water on the rooms, just cold, the bathrooms have a weird structure and they seem pretty unsanitary. The place is like a maze and it's really hard to understand where you have to go. The service from everywhere (except kitchen and dining) is horrible, everyone treats you really bad, they kept us basically hostage at the beginning and at the end (they didn't want to give us our luggage back) + Pros The food included is really good and the service from the kitchen is friendly Overall: Don't go to this place, there are other places which will be a little bit more expensive but it'll be worth the price. The food is good but it's not worth it.

My fiancée and i just returned home to Canada after spending a week stay at Hacienda. We can’t say enough about the staff and the hospitality of the hotel while we stayed in Mexico. The staff was top notch, friendly, polite, respectful, helpful, while providing a great service to their visitors! The food was fantastic with lots of options for every meal of the day. If you want to experience authentic Mexican style, architecture while relaxing in comfort look no further then the Hacienda! We will be back again. Thank you L & J!

what a charming place. we absolutely loved it here! The food was amazing yet repetitive so that was a down. The restaurant staff were amazing! Pool and cleaning staff were spectacular as well. you also are told Not to reserve ur seats at the pool but by 7am every lounger has a towel on it ...pool opens at 8am...it's ridiculous 🙄 The down side was the concierge who basically wanted us to go to the other hotels and see them and book another vacation...she kept reminding us she worked on commission, we left her a deposit and when it came to the day we let her know we changed our minds as we weren't feeling great and only had a day left. she then called our room twice to convince us to go and then spoke to other guests about us and how she was mad we didn't go...very unprofessional! after this incident the ladies at the front desk started treating myself and my husband very rudely.... so needless to say the last 2 days were not great even after getting a second room for 5 days and paying an extra 500 canadian for a late check out... again beautiful place however we won't be back.

This place was more than what I was expecting. A beautiful area to stay in Puerto Vallarta. The staff was so friendly and helped us so much. The food was very good and had a huge variety. I can’t wait to come back very soon! The room was very clean and housekeeping kept it very organized

This hotel is cute but it’s lacking so much. Only one pool, not enough lounge chairs. The breakfast buffet was just OK. Lunch and dinner buffet was horrible. The only good dinner night was Mexicans night. Their entertainment was not good and they don’t have any type of entertainment a couple of nights a week. Their tablet broke so we didn’t have any music thru out the resort for 2 days. We bought a small speaker so that it wouldn’t be so quiet while we were in the pool area… well they made us turn it off. We felt like we were at a senior citizen center. The walk or shuttle to the beach was not bad, but there is no washroom or bathrooms in the designated beach area, so u have to shuttle back to the hotel to use the bathroom. The pillows and beds were very uncomfortable. The AC in our rooms worked great, but I did hear other customers complain about the hot temperature in their rooms. The best thing about this place was one of the bar tenders. His name is Ivan. He makes the best drinks and keeps them coming! Hes very friendly and attentive! The other bar tenders were not near as customer friendly as him! We were a family of 10 and we would definitely not stay here again. We also do not recommend it to anyone.

Good all inclusive resort. Nice pool area and bar. Near the beach. Excellent food. Room quite dated, as we were in the original build. AC super cold. No internet in rooms and pool area needs more loungers. Too bad beach area doesn't have washrooms.

Be careful when you need any customer service help. I had my room booked accidentally twice for the same room, same night and same price. When I brought it to the desk... all they did was brush it off and act like it wasn't valid (despite me showing all the details, booking number) for the room. In the end, gave me no refund back for the double booked money and my credit card was left with the bill. I went back to the reception a few times and all they did was just tell me to contact other departments, my booking agency and send an email. You may think it's a great place to stay... but make sure you don't have any hassles. If no hassles, then the hotel will seem like it's great place (great looking hotel)... but prepare to forgo your money even if you had to deal with something that wasn't of your fault. You will foot the bill and they won't care.

Run.. Do not book this hotel. It is a nightmare, horrible. I'm so surprised that this hotel is still in business, they should shut it down. Bad old rooms- uncomfortable beds - bed sheets have a strong bleach smell to the point you will have difficulties breathing - No got water, it is just warm - Noisy .... Very .. Very noisy: the traffic and a nearby restaurant /open-air club. If you are seeking to enjoy a relaxing vacation THIS HOTEL IS NOT THE PLACE, save your money. One star is too much to rate this place.

Just spent the day there, we're staying at a condo near and took advantage of their day pass. It was good value at $42 Canadian for 6 hours on their resort. Had drinks, lunch, lovely pool and beach with great bar service

I loved this hotel, cleanliness on point all the staff very friendly the food very good, but there are only two things that I didn’t like 1: the pool was hot I was expecting something cooler I didn't want to be in a hot tub in that hot weather. 2: the wifi didn’t work at all. Just those two things that I didn’t like , but I think it’s something that they can work on.

Nice place to stay, it truly Mexican sharm. This place looks and feels totally different from popular brand resorts. Very friendly personal, not all of them speak English, but it's OK, it not USA, they not have to. Clean. Shower looks like it 30 year old, but probably because it in Mexican sharm style. Restaurant not all inclusive, you have to pay for it even if resort all inclusive. No amendments for kids. Food taste very good, fresh, but very very limited choices. If you picky for a food or like place with huge selection, then you have to skip this place. Beach located one block away, you have to leave resort and walk 5-7 min, It not far away and not a problem at all, in some big resorts you have to walk way more. Beach it self OK. Another of local annoying sellers on the beach. One small problem, you have to pass trash dumpsters and there trash bags everywhere around and it smells so bad. Just 7-10 min away from historic downtown on taxi. So, my conclusion, I like this place because it different. Rooms clean. Food is good but limited choices. Beach is good. I think it worth 4 stars only because it Mexican Sharm style resort.

My husband and I stayed at this place. We love it! Beautiful interior. Delicious food. Very clean and the staff are very courteous and friendly. David from the outside bar and Angeles are hard workers and very pleasant, very courteous and Alfonso the waiter. Every one are hard workers and still very pleasant. We love this place. Excellent price for all Inclusive food. We want to come back. We love this hotel more than El CID resort in Mazatlan. Very clean, and very relaxing Vacation we had.

WORST MANAGEMENT EVER!!!!!! I called to have my reservation be modified (mind you it was only a name change) and they could NOT assist me over the phone?!?! I live in the U.S. and the manager says they could not assist me over the phone?!?! I don’t know how that makes any sense. I tried reasoning with them and explaining to them I have a family emergency so I cannot make it but my sister would so that was the reason why I was trying to change the name of the reservation. I did not care if the charge came out of my account, all I needed was for the reservation name to be changed so that someone else could have the room and the money does not go to waste. Also, the lady who was the “reservation manager” kept speaking over me and trying to shut me up. She also initially refused to talk to me in the beginning because she was busy in a “meeting.” However, one of her employees earlier exposed her by saying she was still sleeping at 9 am and to call back in an hour when she wakes up?!? Extremely unprofessional and worst customer service ever! I DO NOT RECOMMEND BOOKING THIS HOTEL. I REPEAT DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM!!!! I would give this hotel zero stars if I could believe me, but it’s forcing me to give them at least a star.

The staff is very friendly. This is a hacienda so they don't have elevators so hopefully you don't mind using the stairs. Our stay was all inclusive and the buffet style food set up had many delicious options to choose from. Overall it was a good stay.

This is not a huge resort and that's what make's it awesome. The staff are super fun and attentive (Ivan, Alexandro, Angelica, Cesar - muchos gracias!). We went for our honeymoon and loved every moment. It's not a 5-star so don't expect that and you'll have a great time. The rooms, building and environment feel really authentic. Only one pool but it's all you need. The beach is a 5 minute walk away, but it's safe and easy and the beach area is fun. Currently (Mar 2022) because of covid and renovations, the bathrooms at the beach are closed but even so we were plied with drinks and had a great time on a beautiful beach. Food was not amazing but definitely good. We would for sure go back and recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable time away.

Not what we were expected. The hotel was lacking the beach as it was shown on their website. They said they have a beach club but is not clear that it’s 4 blocks from the actual hotel. Food was poor. Nothing special, no mariscos or seafood as other hotels by the beach offer. Only one restaurant to dine in with reservations and they didn’t tell me that kids under 15 couldn’t go. Horrible group or company to book tours, they lied to us and gave us misinformation, and we ended up spending extra money in all our tours. I won’t recommend this hotel and absolutely no the tour agency. They invite you to listen to a one and a half hour visit to another hotel, and when you say no to their timeshare sale, it turns to 5 hours. Horrible experience!

This all-inclusive hotel, was great. Not to of the line. But it was beautiful and clean. Everyone from the doorman, receptionist, bartender, host and entire food staff is absolutely amazing. Friendly guest, weekend dinner with show. All different types of food available for each service buffet style, but good. Drinks are great, they have a wet bar with snack bar too. Free shuttle service to and from beach with their own private beach and drink included as well there. I will absolutely book here again!!

Great place, friendly staff , the waiters Monserrat and Alfredo were always very pleasant, nice pool , the place is built over and old church wich i thought was pretty unique, it is not on the beach but they provide a ride there and have a small spot where they serve drinks , the breakfast and lunch was great , dinner not so much , i believe it's because they sell dinner subs : steak ,lobster , you get what you pay for , my rating is a respectable 4 out of 5

Had a wonderful week here! The food was wonderful. The rooms are a little outdated but still tasteful.amd the small veranda overlooking the courtyard was lovely! I will say the only thing bad was that on the last day and a half we were there some security and military showed up at the beach club and shut it all down. We could still use the beach chairs And the staff did everything they could to make us comfortable but it was odd when the security company was putting up barbed wire behind is. And when we asked the staff about what was going on we never got a clear answer. But otherwise, great hotel, friendly staff and excellent food!

THIS HOTEL IS POISONING GUESTS WITH THE FOOD. DO NOT STAY HERE. I ended up in the emergency room with severe food poisoning. The hospital bill and medication costs were $1,400. When I got back to the hotel, not a single person asked me anything about what I ate to explore what could have caused it. I found out a few days later than 14 other people also got food poisoning here including one woman who was checking out early after spending 7 hours with vomiting and diarrhea. When we talked to management, they asked us to write a letter. NO ONE SEEMED TO CARE AT ALL. I'm working with Expedia to try and put out a warning so other travelers don't stay here until things are corrected.

Being an all-inclusive Hotel, and a tourist vacation spot, employees should be able to speak in english. 99% of the people who works here doesn’t speak english. They keep assuming that all of the people they talk to speaks Spanish. Then the “All-Inclusive” Open Buffet, in which you have to wait for them to change the food on the buffet before they seat you??? Oh, not to mention the servers who seem like they’re having a bad day or something and they brought their personal problem to work. What the heck is up with that??? The pool closes at 8 pm, when that pool is the only thing you can do in this “All-Inclusive” Hotel. Thinking that they are seated on the “West”, this hotel is nothing compared to the “East”(Cancun). Please don’t waste your money here. And most of all, don't waste your time here…
