Fantastic tasting menu. It was really nice to sit on the back balcony and have a quiet dinner while listening to the stream flow. The food from the guest chef was amazing. I was blown away by some of the flavors in the dishes. The most interesting dish was for sure the smoked tomato. I can't remember exactly how long it was smoked but I want to say for multiple days. It was fantastic and a unique dish. If you're in the area and looking for a fine dining experience I think this is a good place for you.

We had lunch here, and it was absolutely delicious. Every dish was unique, creative, and seasoned to perfection. The cocktails were also incredible. Every dish had the perfect balance of flavors, including just the right amount of spice. All to often i find myself wanting more heat in fine dining, not here. This was the best food I've had in Vallarta and we've already booked dinner. Edit: we had dinner here on a pre fixe menu and we were absolutely blown away. One of the best dining experiences of my life.

Beautiful restaurant, beautiful food, beautiful plating, beautiful cocktails; however; it wasn’t as much Mexican as I expected. It’s cool to use the fusion concept but I found more like I went to an modern fine dining Asian restaurants. Because what I remember it was bao, tempura style, seaweed, sesame, shawarma, soy sauce, chili sauce, all very Asian. I guess I wasn’t here the best time for Mexican flavor LoL. Anyhow, appreciated the passion and the efforts and all hard working kitchen staffs. Plus the bartender did the excellent job.

Great place, right in the river. Fantastic food, excellent service, classy place. We opted for the chef’s tasting menu and it was perfect. We also got the wine pairing with it, and we are both red wine drinkers, so probably pass on that next time. I should’ve paid attention because all the wine was white and I didn’t care for any of it. The price for two of us ended up being around $300 usd, and the wine was half of that. Probably wouldn’t ever be a once a week place, but it’s a must if you’ve never been.

Fantastic! A culinary experience. The compliments of the chef were fantastic, such sweet delicacies. Truly a treat on our trip! Happened upon this place by mistake and was not disappointed, the cocktails are definitely an indulgence. Treat yourself and enjoy a culinary experience. The portions were also very generous, surprisingly, not at all upset. Two people, two meals. I'm in love!

My overall verdict of Tintoque is that it is a very good restaurant that (mostly) deserves the hype it gets. The starters were delicious and beautifully presented and I had one of the best cocktails I had over the course of 7 days in Puerto Vallarta. The servers were incredibly attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. They took time to talk us through each item we ordered to ensure we were ordering something we would ultimately enjoy. We were also grateful for the complimentary appetizer. All of this meant that we had really high hopes for the main. We ordered a spicy paella with pork belly that turned out to be way too salty. We were disappointed with this as it was really the only negative point and I really hope we just got a bad one because the salt was overpowering and made worse because it was paired with pork belly which is itself very high in sodium. The desserts were also just a little underwhelming. All in all, I'd rate Tintoque a 3.5/5 Ambiance - 4 Cocktails - 4.5 Starters - 4.5 Service - 5* Main - 2.5 Dessert - 3

Best meal we had in Puerto Vallarta. The concept is very much centered around deconstructed Mexican cuisine. So whatever you think you’re ordering, it will look a lot different than what you’re used to seeing. It will taste better than most food you’ve ever had! I’m sure the menu changes periodically but we had the “empanadas” for a first course and the “enchiladas” for one of the entrees. I can’t remember what the other entree was but my plate was completely clean. The cocktails were excellent. The setting is airy, modern, and laid back. It doesn’t matter if you ask a question to a runner, waiter, or manager, the staff is very passionate about what they put on the table and are so knowledgeable about their menu. I highly recommend eating here.

Truly special. I have never been to another fine Mexican cuisine restaurant in PVR that is in the same league as Tintoque. Situated along the Rio Cuale and tucked under beautiful broadleafs on a quiet street, Chef Ornelas and team made a spectacular set of dishes. But it wasn’t the food or atmosphere alone. It’s the fact that there’s zero pretentious bullshxt to the place. Everyone is friendly (Victor is a fantastic server), helpful, kind, hustling but not stressed. It’s decadent but approachable. Cocktails are quick and delicious (try the raicilla Negroni). Menu options are good and every single thing we tried took us on a journey. We ordered (and received everything with perfect timing) the bluefin tuna on the starter menu, the grilled octopus second, and the catch of the day (snapper) with paella rice & veg. They also surprised us with a starter refresher of tuba and an anniversary dessert. This place… just wow. There are no rivals in PVR to what you’ll find at Tintoque.

This was our “fancy” dinner of our trip. We tried the tasting menu and had 2 drinks, which cost us around $137/pp before tip. The tasting menu comes with 9 courses of small bites. We really enjoyed most of the tastings but 3-4 had interesting flavors that didn’t taste as good to us. We were satisfied by the end of the course but personally felt that the price was a little bit more expensive than what it was worth. Ambiance was nice and very romantic overlooking the river.

Had my 40th birthday dinner and had a wonderful time. We each had the fixed menu with wine tasting, and everything was delicious. Most memorable dish as the 36-hour tomato and the starter courses. Highly recommend for a special dinner.

Unfortunately, my friends and I had a terrible experience here recently. There was a group of 18 of us for dinner, and we made 4 separate reservations in advance. The day of, we called and asked if they could put our 4 tables togeeher given that we are all going together and want to enjoy dinner together. The host/manager said the only way they would agree to put the tables together is if we all opted for the chef’s tasting menu ($100+ USD each). I asked why that was the case, given that all 18 of us would be eating and drinking, and would all likely spend over $100 a person anyway. They refused again. Begrudgingly, we decided to stay and eat at 4 separate tables. There was a table of 5 next to a table of 4 on one side of the dining room and another table of 5 next to a table of 4 on the other side. It didn’t make any sense. To top it off, other than the 18 of us the restaurant was completely empty. Empty tables in between all of us and the outdoor area was completely empty (see photos). If we hadn’t kept our reservation the place would have been empty all night. The manager/host was rude and made us feel like we were a burden when all she needed to do was move a table by a couple of feet. She put her ego and power trip over customers who wanted nothing more than to support this restaurant and enjoy the evening with friends. I won’t even get into the food, other than saying it wasn’t worth the price, and everyone in the kitchen looked miserable.

(4.7/5) Located in a rustic neighborhood, very nice dining room and open kicthen. The view from the outside dining area could be improved. The quality of the table and cutleries are 10/10. The cocktails menu requires you try something new. They bring out an aboriginal drink called tuba to start with, it is amazing. The menu is very original, unique and limited in scope but caters to all diets. The cocktails come well presented and are delicous but cannot compete with the tuba drink served earlier. (Great quality straws) For the appetizers we got the fried octopus and bread and butter. They came fresh and well presented. The bread and butter was fresh and rich in flavor. The fried octopus was perfectly cooked and an experience to eat, although i usually prefer octopus well done (i am the exception). For the main course we got the lamb (good for 2 ppl) and the grilled cabbage one of the vegan options. The grilled cabbage dish was a very unique mesh of flavors the complemented each other very well. The lamb was a shawarma style wrap that was elevated by taking you to both mexico and the middle east with each bite. The quality of ingridients outshine in every bite. The customer service was Excellent, catered to every need and paid attention to all the little details (asking you what garnish you would like in your water, providing context to each dish, and offering to ask the chef for custom options). You will truly feel at home here. I give this a solid 4.7/5, the 0.3 deduction was due to the limited cocktail menu which was very unique making it difficult to know what you would enjoy. Highly Recommended!

Our favorite restaurant in Puerto Vallarta. We visited this place when it was near the marina 5 years ago. The food was just as amazing now that it is in the romantic zone. Our table was right next to the river which made for a nice ambiance. Didn't have a problem with mosquitoes either. Highly recommend doing the tasting here, and both wine pairings were phenomenal (although I unsurprisingly enjoyed the premium pairing a little more). Felicidades Tintoque for what you are doing and the deserved recognition you are getting. See you again next year.

An amazing dinner & experience. Located in old town on the river, both indoor & patio dinning. We enjoyed sitting outside on the river at a very private table. The vegetarian options were great, a beet humus topped with fresh pears, salad greens sprinkled with a champagne vinegar dressing. My husband had fried octopus which he dipped in a sweet potato purée & an entree was a fresh white fish with a green curry sauce. This restaurant has a full selection of wines, we selected a 2017 white Argentinian, Altar. The staff were all knowledgeable and very attentive. Definitely place Tintoque on your to do list when in PV.

We had the tasting menu and it was delicious, they also adapted it for each person's food restrictions. The service was excellent. Fully recommend this place.

Oh Tintoque, you never disappointed! This is one of our favorite restaurants. The tasting menu with optional pairings is the way to go. 6 courses with desserts are plenty! We also went for the tomahawk steak. It is cooked perfectly, rare to medium. It is large enough to feed four adults. The star of the night is the bluefin tuna panang. Medium rare tuna on top of mildly sweet, spicy, well seasoned curry sauce. It is heaven!! 5/5 food 5/5 service

This was by far the best culinary experience we had in Puerto Vallarta. Each dish was uniquely crafted and delicious. The service was on point. The sommelier, Felix, far exceeded our expectations. The restaurant itself was romantic and tastefully designed. We wished we had found this place sooner. We were so impressed we would have loved to dine a second night.

Incredible experience! We did the chef's taste testing including wine pairing. Absolutely amazing food (and presentation)! If you are cheap, this is not the place for you. If you want a fine dining experience with an incredible menu and experience, this is definitely the place for you. Hope to return each visit and see whats new by the chef. 5-star rating all around!

The food you receive at this place is the best in Puerto Vallarta. You wont even spend much more at this place compared to other places in the romantic zone, so it is definitely worth a visit. The experience is very unique and the staff was very friendly and professional

It's been many decades since I've been truly flabbergasted by totally new flavors, textures, visual experiences and outstanding service. I'm so glad we serendipitously had dinner at this amazing place. The "degustación" plus "madrigado" menu option is an out of worldly adventure. Must be experienced to be understood.

UH-mazing! The chef's tasting was absolutely incredible. The wine selection was great. The service was top notch. Get a table on the patio with the view of the river. LOVED IT!

Wow! The food, the ambiance, and staff was absolutely amazing. One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Portions were just right so that 2 people could share, or you have the tasting menu option which is 9 courses and a little bit of everything. Fabulous cocktails and a big wine selection. Really enjoyed the Silvia Cabernet Sauvignon from the North Coast of California. If you’re looking for a special place for a special occasion, or leaving PV and need to celebrate in style this is the place! Well worth the price tag, and we will be back when we return to PV!

Absolutely wonderful. The ambiance is elegant, service professional and impeccable, portions large, and the food is exquisite. Everything from the cocktails to every appetizer (we ordered 2) to the entre (which we shared) was delicious. Pacing between courses was perfect. The terrace is charming. Did not disappoint. Will definitely return, especially for a celebratory meal, or special occasion.

We sat on the terrace overlooking the river. We can hear the water running. The waiter was so friendly and attentive The food was different and tasty they kept coming with complementary appetizers. $$$$ it is a bit pricey and worth it if you want to splurge.

Our party did the tasting menu along with several Al la carte items, everything was amazing! The atmosphere was amazing and the kitchen kept surprising us with dishes we didn’t order but were amazing. They seemed to push the envelope of what could be done with simple ingredients and elevated everything. I can’t say enough about this place, truly once in a lifetime dining experience, although I am excited to go back again. If you decide not to get the tasting menu the Al la carte options are still amazing

Great food. Creative in the tasting menu so highly recommend you try it. Here's some photos The level is a one star michelin restaurant, with aims on even going further. Local ingredients with a creative global creative cuisine style. You'll try this in the tasting menu.

We so very much enjoyed the food and wines and atmosphere at Tintoque! Beautiful imaginative dishes, memorable sauces and very generous portions! The menu changes but we understand that the Truffled corn "Esquite" is always available. Don't miss it!

This place was absolutely amazing. The tasting menu was filling without being overly so. The cocktails were incredible and the staff was what you would expect in a Michelin-star restaurant. Definitely get the 36-hour tomato, it is unreal.
