I
am
rating
Wommom
two
stars
instead
of
one
because
it
is
a
beautiful
space
and
they
offer
nice
resources
like
pregnancy/preparing
for
birth
classes
(we
took
one
that
was
quite
helpful),
early
child
stimulation,
support
groups,
etc.
However,
I
would
not
recommend
Wommom
for
a
c-section
birth
based
on
my
experience
with
Dra.
Sarita
Zertuche.
In
my
experience,
Dra.
Zertuche
had
issues
with
bedside
manner,
organization
and
follow-up,
and
medical
knowledge,
decision-making,
and
risk-benefit
analysis.
The
issues
I
experienced
are
as
follows:
- After
jointly
determining
with
Dra.
Zertuche
that
I
would
require
a
c-section,
I
had
to
follow-up
multiple
times
with
her
to
get
the
c-section
scheduled
and
to
ask
that
she
share
the
pre-op
instructions
–
which
included
getting
outside
laboratory
tests
–
prior
to
the
day
of
the
surgery.
- The
day
after
my
surgery,
I
was
taken
off
stronger
pain
meds
without
my
knowledge
and
left
with
only
an
equivalent
to
a
paracetamol
drip.
I
was
then
told
to
stand
up
and
walk.
After
experiencing
excruciating
pain
trying
to
walk
with
hardly
any
pain
management
the
day
after
major
surgery,
I
had
to
request
that
Dra.
Zertuche
put
me
on
stronger
pain
meds.
- I
now
know
that
it
is
quite
contrary
to
medical
standards,
that
Dra.
Zertuche
removed
my
stitches
from
the
C-section
less
than
a
week
following
the
surgery.
This,
I
believe,
led
to
the
occurrence
of
my
incision
breaking
open
about
a
week
later.
- Once
my
incision
reopened,
I
informed
Dra.
Zertuche
immediately
and
sent
pictures
of
the
amount
of
liquid
that
had
suddenly
come
out
of
the
wound.
At
this
stage
and
looking
back,
I
believe
Dra.
Zertuche
should
have
immediately
put
me
on
antibiotics,
but
instead
she
waited
until
the
wound
was
clearly
infected
to
do
so.
- I
sent
pictures
of
the
infected
wound
to
Dra.
Zertuche
who
instead
of
seeing
it
in
person,
only
prescribed
an
antibiotic
in
the
penicillin
family
over
the
phone.
As
I
knew
a
post-op
abdominal
infection
can
be
very
serious,
I
took
it
upon
myself
to
go
that
same
day
to
the
ER
in
the
hospital
I
delivered
to
get
a
second
opinion.
The
wound
worsened
over
the
weekend
and
Dra.
Zertuche
agreed
to
come
in
and
inspect
the
wound
on
a
Sunday.
I
had
to
be
the
one
to
insist
we
do
a
bacterial
culture
to
know
what
antibiotic
would
properly
get
rid
of
the
infection.
- As
we
awaited
the
results
of
the
bacterial
culture
(a
5-day
turnaround),
and
based
on
the
advice
of
an
antibiotic
specialist
friend
in
the
U.S.,
I
requested
Dra.
Zertuche
put
me
on
additional
antibiotics
than
the
one
she
prescribed
–
to
ensure
broad
spectrum
coverage
as
we
did
not
yet
know
what
bacteria
was
causing
the
infection.
Dra.
Zertuche
refused
to
put
me
on
additional
antibiotics,
stating
a
risk
of
killing
too
much
good
bacteria
–
a
very
strange
risk-benefit
calculation
for
any
surgeon
who
has
a
post-op
infection
on
their
hands.
- Dra.
Zertuche
also
instructed
my
partner
and
I
to
express
fluid
from
the
wound
ourselves
at
home
–
something
I
later
found
out
is
quite
outside
of
medical
protocols
and
should
not
be
performed
by
someone
who
is
not
a
trained
professional
for
risk
of
breaking
cell
walls
and
causing
further
infection
and
abscesses.
- Lastly,
Dra.
Zertuche
was
consistently
nonchalant,
casual,
and
condescending
about
each
real
issue
I
came
to
her
with.
She
took
no
accountability
for
the
infection
that
resulted
from
the
surgery
she
performed.
Her
bedside
manner
is
lacking
–
I
didn’t
feel
heard
or
cared
for
throughout
the
entire
experience.
I
am
very
curious
to
know
what
her
large-scale
medical
outcomes
for
c-sections
or
other
surgeries
look
like...
I
surely
can’t
be
the
only
one.
