Docked at this Cruise Terminal while on a 7 day Mexican Cruise with Princess. They are currently enlarging and remodeling the terminal and adding additional shop spaces. There are a number of shops and stores selling the usual tourist goods. I would recommend buying tourist items in downtown Puerto Vallarta where the quality, selection and prices are much better. There is a shop which sells chocolates and gives free samples. There are taxis available at the exit of the terminal. If you plan on using a taxi exit the terminal area and flag one down on the street as it will be much cheaper. On average we save at least 50 %. Make sure and negotiate your fare Before getting in the cab.

We took a cruise here a few years ago and this was our favorite stop. There is a lot to do and the city is an amazing place to visit. There is a mall and plenty of places to eat and shop at. We wish we could have stayed longer to explore this amazing city even more. Make sure to walk around as much as you can.

This is a nice cruise port. You can get off the ship and shop at the booths set up or walk over to the mall and stores. There are booths and vans set up that will take you on different excursions. You can barter for excursion prices. We went on a zipline excursion, and it was awesome. Don't forget to get cash before getting off the ship. You go through customs to get back on the ship if you leave the secure area. We felt safe and enjoyed the area.

Simply beautiful! We took an excursion and it was so well organized! The locals were not as friendly a other parts of Mexico, but the tour guides were super nice and Puerto Vallarta is absolutely beautiful! I wish i had better photos to share, but i haven't yet received them. I only stayed the day, but what a fantastic, fantastic experience! Seriously.

Good port. If you walk just outside the metal fence around the ship, there will be tan colored vehicles. These are the federal taxies. This means they have a higher level license than the white and yellow taxies. These federal taxies will offer to take you on a tour if you would like. About $40-$60 usd per person. They will take you to a couple overlooks that are nea (free)t, they will take you to a small, co-op owned tequila tasting (free, but tips appreciated). You can taste a few great tequilas, and purchase it. They will then ask if you want to go zip lining, not sure the cost. Then they will take you to a beach area/bar restaurant. From here you can hire a water taxi, or go snorkeling. You can also just chill on the beach if you buy a few drinks. The bar/restaurant is expensive, and there is a constant barrage of people trying to sell you stuff. From here, the driver will take you to a flea market area, close to the dolphin on the malecon. Depending on how much time you spent at the beach, you will have 2-3 hours here. From here they will take you anywhere on your way back to the ship. We did it, it was far cheaper that any of the cruise tours. We felt safe.. my only complaints are that the drivers do get a kickback from you buying tequila, things at the restaurant, etc. Even with this, it was worth it. Enjoy! Take water. If you give them notice ahead of time, they can get you a 14 passenger van as well.

My favorite port. There's a Walmart and Sam's club across the street. The ocean water temp in April was like bath water. Beach is right next to cruise port. Little shops along the way.

We had a fun stop at Puerto Vallarta. Visited the malecon and made chocolate at the Choco Museum. Had guacamole and drinks at a Mexican restaurant.

Great to go on foot and explore this city in Mexico, so much to see and definitely I would recommend that you eat the good healthy fresh ceviche on the side street made from the locals

Leaving the ship to walk through an indoor flea market is a bit odd. Be very careful and check what you buy before leaving. You can't go back once the ship leaves the port. The city and the history are very interesting.

Puerto Vallarta is a great place. Walmart and Sam’s are right across the street from the cruise port. Ubers are inexpensive.

PV keeps improving, providing a great visitor experience. I have been coming to PV for 30 years and have never had a bad experience . The cruise port is no exception.

It didn’t start off great but ended GREAT! Best experience with a local “taxi” tour we’ve ever had Maria tried to rip us off with a tour starting at $200 USD w/ch is just CRAZY and we didn’t appreciate it we cruise often so we knew better, but Arturo came and more than earned our trust. We respect him and he made us feel so safe he took us on the best tour ever! It ended with great food and great memories when we come into this port hopefully we will get him again we hope to even visit outside of the cruise ship because it’s a very beautiful place. Find Arturo if you go!!!!

I arrived at Puerto Vallarta Cruise Port on a sunny day. The port was located at the Terminal Maritimo, about 3 miles north of the city center. It was a large and modern facility that could handle up to three cruise ships.

They try their best to get you to your evening cruise on time, but you need to wait for everyone to arrive first. Fashionably late people get annoying quickly. Pirate Tour was lots of fun, great food, excellent drinks, amazing show!

Nice mall. But you are forced to walk through it both ways. Long security lines. Not a great ending to a decent day ashore.

I love puerta vallarta. There's so much to do and so little time. I enjoyed swimming in the beach that was 10 min walking distance from the cruise ship. Holi Beach and I gave this beach a C+ or B- because there were so many rocks they came home in my swimming suit. There was a small current and a big undertoe. It will crash you into the rocks if you're not careful. The water was 3% sparkling and 7% clear aqua. It wasn't as salty as others as theres fresh water flowing into it. Watch out for the alligators and sharks 🦈. I could not swim in Muertos or Malecon beaches, but they were beautiful. There were many tourist attractions for me to choose from.

Not a nice port. Better than Mazatlan, but what isn't. PV port has access to a short beach before a river, a gas station close by, and a Walmart a bit further.

Puerto Mágico is attached, where the cruise ships disembark. Lots of shopping, quick bites to eat, parking garage. Very nice location!

Saved money not taking the cruise ship city tour. Just hired a taxi to go to old town Puerto Vallarta. Did some walking on the boardwalk, shopping and Senor Frogs. Took a taxi from just outside Senor Frogs back to the cruise port.

Tourist trap. Be prepared - need to negotiate.

The workflow in the port is confusing, but the port building is okay and up-to-date with shops.
