We are still overwhelmed by our experience yesterday on this boat tour. Carlos, our guide, was informative and friendly and seemed as excited as we were to experience being completely surrounded by huge whales during our trip. It was a magical siting for day one of whale season .

Booked the Marietas Island Tour with Hidden Beach. Check in at the office was very easy and quick. The team worked together to be sure everyone was aware of the Environmental policies for protection of the wildlife and coral. Our guide, Nahom was amazing - very informative and had some jokes too! Javier and Lalo the Captain and 2nd guide were very friendly as well and on the way back they both looked out for any wildlife coming to the surface. We stopped a few times to watch dolphins and humpback whales - spectacular. Their commitment to safety and making sure everyone had a great time was impressive. I would highly recommend this tour group!

Great sites. Wonderful captain and guide. Recommend. I would do the 3 hour version in the smaller, 10 meter boat.

One of the best tours I’ve done anywhere. Carlos our guide was hilarious and friendly. We went to hidden beach and snorkel at Marietta islands and had a blast. I highly recommend this company. Our boat was a 10 passenger outboard with an excellent shade and was very fast. It’s a bit of a ride to the islands so you want the best boat. Highly recommend.

We had THE BEST time whale watching today! The whales were very active, playful, and showed off their tails and fins for us! Our tour guides, Rodrigo & Martin, educated us about their behaviors, migration patterns, and even taught us how to distinguish the males from the females. We were so lucky to see as many whales as we did! It was an incredible experience - one I’ll never forget! ✨🌊🐋👀🩵

We booked Eco Explorer for the Los Arcos snorkeling. This trip was so worth it. It was not only snorkeling but also basically whale and dolphin watching. We were even lucky to see a turtle when we snorkeled. Our guides (Berenice and Martín) were very outgoing and fun, making the excursion that much better. They were also considerate to offering to take pictures on the boat and when we stopped at a beach. Thank you Berenice and Martín! I’d highly recommend booking when visiting Puerto Vallarta.

You know you’ve chosen the right tour company when all the other boats are following you. Carlos and company were incredibly knowledgeable, funny, and respectful of the animals. He provided great insight into their lives—you can tell he absolutely loves what he does. Online booking and checkin were well marked and easy. We saw over 20 whales and dolphins, including 2 calves including a stop to listen to them singing. Such an amazing experience. We booked for five and received a small discount which was wonderful. A light snack was served halfway through. A perfect morning on the bay. ¡Muchas gracias!

We had a fantastic experience on this tour! Emilio and Carlos were amazing guides, so respectful of the whales and yet were able to get us very close to these animals. We also got lucky and saw dolphins, whales, and a sea turtle. 10/10 recommend this tour!

We had a hell of a time whale watching in the bay. Our guides Eric and the boat captian Martin were awesome. We saw whales within 20 minutes of entering the bay. These guys are not only informative but they know exactly where you go in the bay for the best views of the whales and dolphins. We saw a mother and her calf and the best of all was how these guys respect the whale habitat. I highly recommend this company.

My mom and I went whale watching with eco explorer and it was great! Carlos was our guide and was so respective of the animals/wild life. Our driver was Amelio and was watching carefully to make sure we could all be in the perfect spot to see the whales. They do smaller tours which I think is always a great experience. We just finished our tour with Captain Amelio and our guide Carlos and it was one of the most exciting and educational experiences of my life. We saw up to 9 whales at once competing for a female. One breeched clear out of the water. It was truly a live National Geographic experience. Carlos was very detailed and his English was great. He loves what he does and it shows, his passion for those whales is undeniably. Must stop here when visiting Puerto Vallarta you won’t regret it!!🤩🤩🤩

Very knowledgeable, professional staff. Extreme care was shown for the whales unlike some other tour groups with the larger boats as witnessed during our tour. Liked them so much we did 2 tours during our week stay.

Amazing trip to Marietas Island. Friendly tour guide. Along the way we saw dolphins and had fun waves. Snorkeling in cave. We got water and a sandwich on board. Recommended.

We went for the hidden beach tour with this group and it was the best experience! Carlos and Alex were the most friendly and kind guides and made the experience unforgettable. We swam through a cave to the hidden beach, snorkelled around the ocean and learnt so much about birds. They genuinely care about the work they do and are passionate about conserving this protected area. Highly recommend!

Great tour. Our guide Ricardo was extremely knowledgable and fun. Captain Martine expertly and respectfully found us 15+ whales. Safety and comfort of passengers was a priority. Even without our added good luck of a high number of whale sightings, this would be a tour I’d recommend.

I’ll give it five stars for the guide, he was amazing. Unfortunately, it has to be taken down to one star because they completely ripped us off. We booked the four-adult option for $320, since it was cheaper than three adults and one child, which is what we had. They make you put a down payment for $178 I suppose in case you can cancel. When we showed up, instead of charging us the remaining $142, unbeknownst to us, she charged Our mother nearly $190. After bringing this up when I realized that after it was over, we were told there was confusion, even though my wife clearly pointed out several times that we had bought that package. She was just trying to slip one over without us, noticing since it was our mother-in-law, who did not book it, who is paying the remainder on her credit card. Terrible business practices. Carlos, the guide , was amazing. Thank you very much.

Great tour guides, took us around the islands and spoke about the types of animals we saw as well as a bunch of geological information about the area. Added bonus I got to see 3 puffer fish and whales coming up for air on the way to, and the way back from, the islands

Very knowledgeable company with customer first vibes. I booked the hidden beach tour through TripAdvisor but I messed up on the date of activity and Eco Explorer were very understanding and were able to get us on the next day. At the site they were knowledgeable and experienced, you need an expert to guide you in and out the tunnel, be prepared to swim in high tides in a rocky environment.

We went on a Marieta islands/hidden beach tour with this operation and are so happy we did. It was a 4 hr tour on a speedboat with 12 tourists & 2 guides. The guides were pleasant, knowledgeable & helpful. You must be able to swim for this tour & not be prone to seasickness. Two people were sick & the guides handled it well. This was an incredible experience.

We had a great time on the boat with Captain Emilio and guide Carlos. We enjoyed the snorkeling, the hidden beach and the fun commentary from Carlos. We also saw dolphins and mating sea turtles out in the sea. Would love to come back and do some whale watching in the winter. This is not a party boat, much appreciated.

Eric our group guide did a nice job preparing us, explaining and leading. We liked: small group and no alcohol, no party music. Focus on nature. Boat ride an hour to the islands, cool but short time in Hidden Beach per regulations. Snorkeling was crowded, too many boats at once. Not spectacular cimpated to Hawaii. Unfortunately no dolphin or turtle sightings. Four hour duration was right for us, a nice excursion away from the hotel. You can't predict nature but 5 stars for Eco Explorer.

We had an incredible experience with Eco explorers! Ever and Eddie were absolutely wonderful guides! I highly recommend booking a day trip out to Islas Marietas with them!

Excellent experience! The staff was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. The boat is small which makes for a very up close and personal experience. Would highly, highly recommend this whale watching tour.

Would do this morning again! Great crew, they were as excited as we were to see the whales. Knowledgeable and fun to hang with for 3 hours. Seeing a humpback surface by your boat is a once in a lifetime moment. So glad we did this.

I booked a private whale watching tour with my girlfriend and another couple and we had an incredible time. Our guide Carlos was not only informative but also very funny, and we were able to see at at least a dozen whales during our time on the water. I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone staying in Puerto Vallarta.

Excellent whale watching experience — can’t recommend Eco Explorer highly enough. Our boat was comfortable and had only about 10 people total. Emilio (boat captain) and Carlos (aquatic mammal biologist) were amazing. They got us to several different groups of humpbacks and we were even lucky enough to see a mother and calf breaching together. Carlos is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and funny. And even better, it’s clear that he cares deeply about the whales and their well-being. Unlike some of the other tour boats we saw, he was careful to watch the whales’ behavior and back off when appropriate. He also made sure not to move the boat unless the whales had just surfaced and he knew where they were, to avoid harmful collisions. (Another sketchy tour boat nearly ran its motor into a humpback calf because they weren’t paying attention to where the whales were — Carlos shouted to get the other driver’s attention and avoid a bad situation.) Great experience and an ethical company.

We had such a great time and Rodrigo was amazing as was the captain we were with. They went out of their way to make sure to get us up close and personal with some beautiful whales and dolphins. I would definitely recommend this excursion!
