I rarely give 5 stars reviews. In fact I can count how many I have written but I think Budaixi deserves a five star review. Let me explain why…. I never like to eat Asian food outside of Asia because I was disappointed so many times. We found this little restaurant in a quiet back street. Nothing fancy about it. The staff were very friendly and did a good job explaining the various dishes, how it’s cooked and what are the ingredients. We tried Wonton Szechuan, Budai Bao, Pork Dumpling and their House noodle soup which is a Taiwan beef noodles. First bite on the wonton I can already tell that it is 100% handmade. The skin is chewy, very well done. The pork filling is not mushy but instead tasty and firm. The dipping sauce is just the right amount of spiciness and sweetness. Very well balanced. The Bao is like a sandwich - a steam bun with a piece of stewed pork belly, preserved vegetables, cucumber, and a sprinkle of sugared peanuts. You can order a side of sweet potato fries or spicy cucumber salad with it. The flavour is incredible. The noodles are definitely in-house handmade. They have the right firmness and chewiness. It is served with stewed beef shank. The soup base is aromatic and full of flavour. They also gave us two condiments. Doubanjiang which is a chili bean sauce and a chilli oil which I suspected is homemade too. If this restaurant is in Taiwan I probably would give a 4 star because although their food is very good it probably wouldn’t stand out surrounded by restaurants serving similar cuisine. But this is Mexico and Asian ingredients are extremely hard to come by. I know because I spend months checking every international section of every major supermarket and I couldn’t find much. I talked to Mrs Chung, mother of the chef. They make their own ingredients every morning. And I applaud them for their effort. Their food is exactly how I remember from our numerous Taipei night markets excursions. The details they strive to serve the authentic taste of Taiwan deserve a Five Star Review. Well done!

Small place, but very nice. Service excellent. I had the pan fried pork dumplings and a pork belly bau. Also with sweet potato fries which were best I ever had, fresh not bar style. I'll be back with friends soon.

If you’re looking for authentic Taiwanese food this is the best you’ll find in PV! We had their pork dumplings, fried wontons, and the fried chicken bao. It was absolutely fantastic! It was the right amount of food for 2 people. We had their soups in the past, and it’s delicious. Our bill for what I mentioned earlier was 528 pesos. The jasmine tea doesn’t provide free refills but it’s BYOB. It’s cash only so make sure to bring enough. 🤣

The miso noodles here are super good. I had to eat all of the broth it was like addictive it was so good. Also they have vermicelli for a gluten free option. I found this place to be way better than a fancier places in Tules even though costs are about the same. :)

Had I known about this place earlier, I would've eaten here before. Only found this on my last day. 10/10 recommend. Had a drink, dumplings and a soup noodle (very reminiscent of an authentic taiwanese beef noodle soup). Worth every pesos I've spent. Gracias Budaixi!

Never thought I'd encounter a Taiwanese restaurant in Puerto Vallarta, not to mention a truly authentic one! The pork belly bao is as tasty as I remembered back in Taiwan, and the cold dry noodle (gan mien with wontons) was just comforting and delicious. One might think PV is all about mexican food, now there is a great choice for people want to change the taste but for a meal. Ps, when you see the two types of chili condiments - chili oil and chili sauce, on the table, you know you are in a good place.

What a great change of pace from everything else in Puerto Vallarta. Refreshingly different taste, flavor and texture. Concierge Vallarta recommends this restaurant to Puerto Vallarta Visitors.

The power of Budaixi is real. Owner operated restaurant, providing delicious authentic Asian food in vallarta:) Prices are higher then normal, but quality is clearly a priority. Will go back.

This is the best Taiwanese, hands down. Every time we come to Puerto Vallarta, we make it a point to come to Budaxi. The Szechuan Wontons are one of my favorites.

I had the pork dumplings and Beef noodle soup. Best dumplings ever! Can't wait to return and eat more dumplings!! Delicious. I'm from San Francisco where we have some seriously good Asian food but this was outstanding.

This place is absolutely fire! Their dynasty (chicken) Bao and Gan Mein noodles are excellent. I’m embarrassed about how many times I came back but no regrets. *cash only

Budaixi is a solid go-to for me here in Puerto Vallarta. I am delighted with so many menu items. As most of you know the sauce is so important. They do a great job on their sauces. I also enjoy their rich broths. Super delish. I recently tried their cold noodle salad and once again I was pleased with their fresh noodles cooked perfectly. #1 favorite is wonton szechwan Go and enjoy!

Really good restaurant with authentic cuisine. We really enjoyed the ambience and the veggie bao, misohungry soup, and chicken dumplings were delicious. Highly recommend!

By the time we got there the soups I wanted to try were sold out which is a great sign. I settled for another soup which was delicious (cloud 6). I like that it is Taiwanese owned and run. For the price the quality is there but felt the portion on the lower side. I was very hungry 😅 and could have eaten another bowl easily. But all in all, delicious!

Excellent Taiwanese restaurant in Colonia Versalles. Great menu offering homemade noodles in their soups and cold noodle salads, delicious baos, dumplings, wontons, lettuce wraps and a nice selection of teas with the option to add tapioca. The traditional flavors, quality and freshness of the food is outstanding, along with the friendly service. It's a small place with a relaxed environment with the option to sit at the counter or a table. Budaixi will not disappoint. It is one of our favorite neighborhood spots.

I am in love with this place. The tofu bao is one of my favorite things that I have ever eaten anywhere. It is delicious in such a fantastic subtle way.

Expensive but good Ramen is very tasty and drinks with tapioca are refreshing and not very sweet. I will come back for dumplings 🥟

Ordered take out for my wife and I portions were very small for 310 pesos . Food was good but very little chicken in the order and our sweet potato fries were 7 between us both.

I always want to back and eat the homade noodles. The taste of foods excellent and recommended.

It had a good taste, but way too expensive: 320 pesos(17 USD) for 2 orders of dumplings and a can of mineral water. Los Angeles prices, for sure.

This place is AWESOME! I can’t believe how fluffy the bao buns are. It was a perfect mix of flavours in every bite we had. I will be coming back often. As a side note, don’t let the exterior fool you into thinking the restaurant is closed… check the hours or try the door, the outside look can be confusing.

Hidden little gem that's very clean with extremely tasty food, priced right. Not a vegetarian but enjoyed the tofu miso soup and a matcha tea. Returned later for dumplings and cloud 6 soup that were off the chain tasty. I'll be back.

The food and service were very good. Our waiter was very helpful explaining the various dishes. The restaurant is small with several very small tables and looked very clean. Decor is spartan, but there is a lovely mural painted on one wall. Their board menu lacks description so if you aren't familiar with Taiwanese food you may be a little lost, there were no printed menus provided. I thought prices were on the high side for the restaurant, type of food, and for the food provided, but I admit it was good. Would I return? yes, perhaps, but there are cheaper options in the neighborhood.

The pork belly bao and gan mein wonton noodles is out of this world!! I’m Asian and appreciate authentic food and honestly, I will be coming back to this place again and again. You must try it.
