Best tequila in Mexico fun bar with great people the bartender is amazing! Fun place if you find yourself in Puerto Villarta stop in for a drink

I might be a bit biased since I'm from Kansas City but we had great time. Total dive bar, and run by an ex-pat from KC so there's Chiefs and Royals stuff everywhere. He's made sure to have a good selection of beer and liquor. The wings are amazing and the pizza downstairs is good (they have vegan cheese which is good for my fiancé's lactose intolerance). It's only a couple blocks from the beach and easy walking distance the boardwalk. It's a tropical location so one side of the bar is open air, but that wasn't a problem. You'll run into every walk of life. Live music, drag shows on special occasions, lots of of people from the US, ran into a couple from Europe, plenty of locals. It doesn't look like much fun the road but it's chill in the day and fun at night.

Awesome dive bar with awesome owners and staff. They gave great food and great conversations with an interesting mix of local expats and travelers. If you like dive bars this is one of the better ones you'll find in any country

Not just a pretty face. Gustos is a super awesome dive bar with a full bar, amazing drinks, cold beer, and you may not believe it (possibly from the "diveyness" of it) AMAZING AND FRESHLY PREPARED food. If you're in PV, add it to your list. Also, ALL of the staff are super awesome.

Fresh lobster for $10 US and some of the cheapest prices on beers and margaritas. Free pool table and jukebox

I love this place so much! The staff is so friendly and accommodating, the food is amazing, and their house margaritas are the best. We love it here and now that we live in PV, we take everyone that comes to visit there for them to see how the real PV is away from Zona Romantica!!!

This is a Kansas City bar, hands down. Chiefs and Royals all day if they're playing. The owner is from and knows KC and it was awesome to hang out in Mexico in a legit KC bar. Legit KC BBQ too.

Love this local hangout. Daily drink specials, excellent food including vegan options. Great friendly staff and owner. Excellent Margaritas, and weekly events, including Kareoke, and pool tournament.

One of the funnest bars in PV! They have awesome drink prices, their Acosta tequila is really good, great food, & the owners are wonderful people. Highly recommend!

Fun sports bar with pool tables and inexpensive menu

So we’re locals and been in Vallarta about 4 years now. We stopped by The Gusto Lounge during high season a while back and had a great time. Fast forward to today. My husband loves sports and I love supporting local places. We made it to the Gusto today and maybe they were just not having the best of days. Totally get we all can’t run at 100% - all the time. I try my very best to give a break where I can. Today no sports on at all and several televisions, drinks came with little to no ice and food quality was below “bar food”. Service was slow at best with only 10 customers to include us in the entire place - it’s low season and we get it. As locals, we understand most places are not air conditioned and accept this. But however most places have many fans that at least move the hot air around. The Gusto truly needs to invest in many more fans, if they wish to remain open in low season. I feel the Gusto really has heart, but today it’s heart just was not in it! We will be back and hope to find the place we enjoyed before.
