Gong at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta

Restaurant Asian restaurant

😠 Not very many vegan options. I had the fried rice with tofu, minus the egg and it was just average. I did add eggplant, but there was not many pieces of it in my dish. The blue signature drink was just a sweet cocktail, so I do not recommend giving that a try. People often mention show, service, delicious, light, shrimp, restaurant, meal,

The view and light show was great, along with the kindness from the server. The food took quite a while and the tempura was a different kind and served cold , it was made with a batter different from what you are use to in America and Canada. Wear bug spray at night if sitting outside. I got eaten!

Came here as a wedding anniversary dinner. Food and service are amazing. They make Martinis and certain cocktails in your presence. I came back again before I left to experience the hibachi outside. Must have for sure.

Lacks the preparation that makes the food taste like Chinese. The tempura appetizer and sweet and sour shrimp were average. Fried rice was abysmal. Take it off the menu until you learn how. Service and atmosphere exceptional.

Fun Fun FUN. And great food & a deck overlooking a lake with a water fountain light show. And the sports bar & restaurant, that shares the same area, is awesome too 5 🌟

We ate inside. AC! We shared tempura. My wife had the teriyaki chicken. Very tender. With mixed vegetables. I had a rice dish topped with shrimp. Also very tasty. Carlos was our waiter. Excellent. If ever you stay at Vidanta we highly recommend this restaurant. If you sit at an outside retailer the you can watch the laser light and fountain show on the small lake at the restaurant patios edge.

Food & service was outstanding by Kevin & Rodrigo! The water show was so entertaining. Best seafood curry that we've ever had. Pa Thai was so delicious & the Flecha Azul cocktail was one of my all time favorites! We will be back!

Gong Tempanyaki experience at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta. Perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. Somehow we were the only people at our table. Our chef, Esmerelda, was brilliant. Way more food than we could possibly eat. So. Much. Fun.

We had a fantastic meal at Gong. I wasn’t expecting great Asian food at a resort in Mexico, despite the fact that the food at Vidanta is consistently excellent. The cocktails were super creative and delicious. The chef starter (all the higher end restaurants at Vidanta send out a special small starter) was a spring roll that was light and crispy. We ordered the edamame and tempura to start which both had large portions. We had the Pad Thai, Kung Pao chicken and the salmon teppanaki which were all fantastic. Definitely exceeded our expectations. The Kung Pao was spicy with a bit of sweet. The Pad Thai had a healthy amount of chicken and shrimp, was not overly sweet as it can sometimes be, and the portion was huge (these dishes are sharable). We didn’t eat at the sushi bar but it was consistently busy. The service was fantastic and the setting on one of the lakes with the water show was really nice. One of the best dinners we had at Vidanta. Highly recommend an evening at Gong.

Love this restaurant! The atmosphere, the food, and the service is outstanding. We have been going to Gong for 15 years and Cruz has been the BEST waiter through and through. Every year. Thank you Cruz!! The service here makes the difference. Our family really appreciates it.

This tappanyaki was the best show we have gone to. Job was very personable, entertaining and funny. Food was delicious

We loved our time at Vidante relaxing with family and friends. The pools, ocean and lazy river were just what we needed to relax and recharge. The restaurants were amazing, and the gondola ride to the Crater fountain, fire and light show was a lot of fun. Too many fun activities and shows to list.

I thought that the food was just so-so. I wasn't impressed at all. It was expensive, and just OK. Not worth the money. Not worth the effort. I won't go back. Neither of us were happy with what we ordered. In the US you can't drive a 1/4 mile without running into a better Chinese restaurant. Maybe they need to hire a couple of Chinese cooks. I don't know. But, we both felt like we wasted an evening. The only redeeming factor of the whole meal was the setting. We liked being seated outside next to the lagoon. But, that same lagoon was available at the Cantina where much better food is served.

Surprisingly great Asian inspired food. Pad Thai was on point and the black pepper beef was tender and flavorful. Fried rice has good size shrimp and the tempura platter was light and fluffy batter. Overall a great meal!

Great food - meaningful and delicious flavors across East Asia! Their yellow tail and ribeye tacos are to die for. The service was wonderful. The cocktails were tasty, unique but weak. The atmosphere feels a bit dingy and gets really hot if the door is not kept closed. I hope they would bring back their stir fry udon ---- so so good!!!

Fabulous dinner. Tempura was wonderful. So was pad Thai and chicken teriyaki. Our server Sergio and Ospaldo were very attentive and helped us choose. Highly recommend!

The food. The show. Very good. Scam on drinks. I suggest do not get mixology. Very expensive. In fact the meal was equivalent to ONE drink. Ridiculous! I would NEVER spend $50 on a drink!!! Beware!!! Grrrr

Food preparation entertainment like a Benihana's or Ron of Japan. Fun.

This Japanese restaurant is worth driving to!! We ordered Beef Tenderloin with black pepper sauce, and Cod with black pepper sauce. It was to die for. So tender, juicy and perfectly done. Two of the best 2 entrees we've tasted, including our 2 weeks in Japan, and we are foodies. Do yourself a favor and go! Much thanks to Cristofer and Cruz for an exquisite dining experience!!

Good food, very nice views and atmosphere. The portions are a little on the small side but the taste makes up for it. Everything was delicious and no complaints at all!

The Teppanyaki dinner was just okay, seen and tasted better elsewhere. We returned for dinner another night and the chicken curry was amazing!

It’s really kinda average, The cook was entertaining and had the skills to crack an egg with his spatula in mid air so that was cool. He missed one though and it landed on the grill shell and all. it’s expensive too. The quality of the meat was so average bordering on cheap. We got the hibachi. I’ve had the same experience and quality of food in just about any buffet that also does hibachi back home in America. It was overpriced 200 something dollars. Also at the end I gave a 25 dollar cash tip on the check and the guy who served us came over complaining he didn’t get a tip, I guess the guy who swiped my card thought I was tipping him 25 dollars for swiping my card? :/

So much fun for all ages. We were at a grill table and chef Alexindro amazed us with his knife skills while cooking a delicious meal. His attention to the children kept them entertained. Sergio and Victor provided excellent table service. The shrimp and beef were particularly good. Highly recommended! The experience created a lasting memory for our family.

Expensive Asian food, small portions, including small rice portions. We ate their sweet and sour shrimp dish almost on a daily basis. Usually 7 pieces, sometimes 8. The sauce seemed to taste like it was ketchup based with soy sauce. Last night's dish was served cold.
