Stafford Road Wine Bar

Bar Wine bar

🫤 This has been such a special place for us over the past 10 years but over the last few visits we’ve noticed it is turning into just another bar. The food once was spectacular and is now nice but not good value . The music is all over the place and the service can be indifferent. I’d still recommend... People often mention wine, great, service, friendly, good, Great, staff, menu, selection,

Great variety of wines, prices were great. Interesting afternoon with friends, and great out door area to sit in the sun. Great atmosphere and wine list.

We came in for a birthday dinner and drinks. The birthday girl is an avid wine and cocktails kinda gal and these generally didn't disappoint. The service was attentive if a bit rushed but everyone was friendly. No one really seemed to have much to say about the wines which was disappointing for a wine bar. The food was our major down vote though. The mushroom risotto was like a buttered long grain rice with sauteed mushrooms thrown on top. The pork belly bao had what seemed like a store bought gooey sauce on them and little greenery or topings (pork belly was nice but ruined by the sauce). The servings of bread with the dips were all too small for the amount of dip provided and extra orders of bread were more of the too small portions. Overall it's seems like penny pinching has taken over from quality and attention to detail.

Great good and I had lovely service from the duty manager but the bartender had the worst service I have seen in recent memory. I had the menu in my hands for three minutes before being interrogated as to whether I would actually order anything. As someone who went alone for a quick drink and bite before an event, it was very uncomfortable, embarrassing and unpleasant. Wont be returning

Nice looking bar, great location, friendly staff, good selection of wine and beer. The food menu is tapas style and I've never tried a dish I didn't like. Thoroughly recommended!

A neighbourhood wine bar that is absolutely perfect! Oozing charm and atmosphere it is cosy and inviting with a gorgeous fire for those cooler months. With a comprehensive drinks menu of carefully selected wine, beer and an impressive line up of gin along with everything else, there is definitely something for everyone (and non-alcoholic options too). The service is always exceptional and the staff are not only super friendly but very knowledgeable with their wines too if you need a recommendation. It's always a pleasure.

Cosy, warm and friendly. The interior is tastefully decorated and it feels homely. Great wine selection. Small but delicious menu of food, (try the Arroncini balls) Reasonable priced set in a good location.

A cool wine bar, would of liked some more wine that you can’t buy from a supermarket on the menu. I don’t wanna buy a glass of Dashwood sav i know sells for $9.99 a bottle at countdown. Good times tho! Nice staff and a decent food menu

A great place to relax and share a wine or two with a loved ones or a group of friends I ordered a Gin Lychee Martini, it was delicious but I think I got a watermelon one. No matter, it was nice regardless.

The food, having been excellent on previous visits, was very.disappointing. The beetroot arancini balls had a hard crust & a tasteless centre & the goats cheese crostini were uninspiring. Even the fries weren't as crisp as in the past. Next time we'll just have a glass of wine & perhaps a few olives, but we won't be eating.

Was here on the Bridgeway Cinema package deal that comes with the Asiette and a couple of glasses of house wine and it was all rather good. I say that because so often package deals aren't usually good value in my experience but this was great 😊

Comfy as bar stools, friendly bartender and a real tasty pilsner on tap if you don't want a wine

Excellent neighbourhood wine bar, it gets afternoon sun in the outdoor tables on the Queen Street side, but equally it's cosy and warm by the fire when the weather is bad. Fantastic staff who know their regulars.

Fabulous service and ambiance. A wonderful selection of wines matched with a bespoke selection of tapas.

Food and drink were lovely and overall great ambience. However, my party of 3 was sat at a table for 2, despite booking and there being tables for 4 available, meaning our food, drinks, menus, etc all very cramped, making our dining experience a little uncomfortable. Walk in couples were able to sit at the table of 4, so this decision felt a little bit short sighted. Also, we ordered our chips with parmesan and truffle oil (an extra offered by the waiter) but they came as standard. A shame considering the food was great, however just a few setbacks.

Great staff, great food, great vibes - highly recommend going here - despite being late in the evening they even bought Fido a bowl of water outside to make him welcome as well !!!

Avoid the place if the French barman is on duty. Argumentative & doesn’t let up. Walked out. Have been here many many times. Won’t be be back if he is working.
