Food was great fish burger with chips very filling and tastes delicious. Staff was exceptional very friendly and had a good sense of humor. environment was lovely, good music and lighting had a great time! Edit:also everything arrived very quickly

Just dropped in for 1kg of fresh mussel pot with celery stock which also comes with some fries for only $22 for two. If your after a real bargain they have specials through the week with mussel pots at half price on a Monday.

Been here a few time whenever we've been in the area. Always a good time! We were here on the Friday, just before peak times so service was pretty good and food came out quick! Can't complain too much about the food and drinks! (Steak and nachos have never disappointed) a little pricy, but worth it for a good time! Plenty of seating upstairs, and nice seats outside in the sun!

Love this little bar in the heart of my Eden. Definitely my local go to now for good service and a nicely poured beer! Plenty of seating inside and out. Only thing I would say is that the toilets could do with a little refurb.

It's a tradition to eat out with family on ones Birhday. I wanted a pub family meal for my 51st birthday. Mussels. My brother in law booked and I think he said he had to pay I deposit. We had a beautiful waitress and I said my nephew (13) said she's soooo beautiful - he went all shades of red... So hilarious!!!

Great food, brilliant service. They do daily specials makes it very attractive to family.

Came here on Monday evening for dinner, had reservation before but the place is already packed when we arrived. Half price mussels on Mondays but needed to order a drink for it to work. Belgian white beer tastes nice. The burger was okay, not particularly great, but the mussels are very nice, and they cleaned it better than their other shop Mission Bay. Great night out with friends, highly recommended 😊👍 Ps. Night time is easy to find street parking.

Located in the middle of Mount Eden Village this little restaurant had a quiet patio with umbrellas for relaxing outside with a beer. They had 6 Belgian variety beers on tap and available flights or full pints. The staff were courteous and prompt. There was no street noise.

I'm a dark beer junky and this is the place for an awesome drop. This is my must visit place every time I am in town. The staff are friendly. The food matches the beer perfectly. The atmosphere is great. Did I earn my free beer for this review? But seriously, great beer.

This was our favourite pub visit in New Zealand! Beautiful pub with a large range of International beers. It was almost full when we arrive at 6pm(Mon night). It's all table service, and our waitress was very helpful and friendly. A great place to spend a cold night.

We had a beautiful meal upstairs and then the music started. What a great night we had singing along to 60s and 70's music. We enjoyed every minute of our time here - food was great, service was wonderful and a perfect atmosphere. It was great to be back in Mt Eden, our old stomping ground

Stopped by for a birthday dinner/drink. There are two levels and the second level was quite nice, particularly out on the balcony. They serve a wide range of beers and other drinks. I grabbed a tasting tray to taste the 6 tap Belgian beers they had for $35. I also grabbed the meatballs and had some of the mussels with the white wine and garlic to share. The meatballs were quite good. The mussel flavouring was a little drizzle over the top so it didn't permate the entire batch so it mostly tasted of the onion and celery stock they were made in. The calamari was also quite nice. IT is a nice pub to grab some food and drinks. They do have a special for each night (mussels on Mondays) so you can see whats on before heading down.

I come here often, and while the servers are usually friendly, I have been very unhappy with the size of the drinks lately. I get that some beers are not filled up to the top, but it's the 2nd time I get a half filled glass. The 1st time I ordered a Kriek and because it was a different type than what they had on the menu, it was more expensive (no warning of this) and when I asked if it could be topped up a bit more, I was told that they filled it up until the line (I triple checked and there was no line on the glass). the 2nd time I orderd mulled wine and was very disappointed to get such a small amount for $13 - I saw another review about this below. Not happy :(

The fish burger was incredibly average for the price. Do not recommend. The nachos were like they emptied a can of beans and a blended avocado onto some chips and dusted it with raw cheese. Do not recommend. Service was fine. At least the building is cool.

Was rather stuffy upstairs when we got here with few windows open, service wasn't too great but it did seem although the bar lady was the only one attending to the upstairs part, ordered the rump steak medium rare and was served a well cooked steak which was rather chewy, only upside was the food did taste nice, the salad seemed to of wilted a bit, starting to show its age. Menu is small with not much to choose from

Burger night, absolutely fabulous! The bar could use a good cleaning, men's washroom toilet almost off its moorings. The ceiling discoloration is concerning. Guess there's no public health officer in Auckland? So hit the outdoor patio.

Firstly to point out their clear details to protect their customers from covid thank you. We went there to drink the amazing cherry beer which was amazing. The food was also the typical pub you expect and very filling at a responsible price. Customer service A+. Definitely will be coming back.

Great Belgian restaurant and pub. Their grilled mussels were exceptional, tastes fresh and juicy. Not to mention the Belgian beers that they have. I bottomed up my glass before I remember to take a photo of it.

Second time visiting here and the food is still amazing. The best cooked steak I've had in ages. My daughter had the pie and mash and we shared the sticky date pudding. Soooooo yummy. 😋 Tasty cocktails too!

Great place to spend time with friends and family. We had the Tuesday special which was steak and fries and excellent value for money. The atmosphere is cosy and authentic, The staff was very friendly and food was delivered swiftly. The fries were delicious, the salad dressing yum, the steak was flavourful but chewy, and the mushroom sauce was creamy and scrumptious. They have a special on every weeknight, and I’ll definitely be going back to try out more! There are rooms for hire, but we didn’t check it out. If the downstairs decor is anything to go by, I’d say it’s worth considering. Coming from the Netherlands, this place felt like a lovely slice of home, with the BEST Mayo!

A fantastic place to visit for a bite to eat, a sneaky beer or two, or even a full on meal. The entire menu mixed with the daily specials make decision time a bit difficult because everything basically begs you to choose it via mouthwatering descriptions. The staff are awesome and make sure that everything is to your liking, and the building itself is 2 level with seating and toilet facilities on either floor and nostalgic decor. Always a pleasure coming here with family and friends :) Definitely recommend the Coq A La Biere.

Staff.are nice and atmosphere is good. I had the steak special which was lovely with mushroom sauce. Wife had the chicken wings which were good but nibbles not wings. 2 kids had the chicken burgers which were standard. And the third kid had the fish and chips and the fish smelt old and tasted dry. Left 2nd piece behind even though he was hungry. Made mention to staff and they were going to pass the info back to the kitchen. Beer was lovely. Some of the choices on the menu were cancelled because on no stock. Some of the drink choices were unavailable. Would go again for afternoon drink and bar snacks. Won't go back for dinner for a while because food experience was average.

Fantastic place to grab a nice Belgian beer and some great food. Staff are friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is awesome. There is both indoor and outdoor seating.

Wednesday night is $15 burger night!! Massive burgers and really tasty!! We got the fish burger and the beef burger. Only downside is that the table was dirty and we had to ask for some water for the table.

Always a good time coming here to De Post in Mt Eden, this time we went for Monday Mussel Mania, those who dined on the delectables had choices of sauces the mussels were steamed in. Also had a dish to share of the grilled option as well. Great food, service and atmosphere, all washed down with excellent wine & beers. Highly recommended!

(Both tasted and reviewed on 25 May 2022) I had the Plant-Powered burger (Vegan) and the Belgian-style waffle ('Death with Chocolate' flavour) for dinner. The burger was delicious as I thought the burger patty tasted almost like a real pork or a real beef patty option. The Vegan mayo was a bit bitter though, so I think this can be resolved by reducing the amount of vinegar added into the Vegan mayo. However, that wasn't much to think about as what wowed me even more was the Chocolate Belgian-style waffle. It had a sweet and tantalising flavour. Would love to come here again, especially for the waffle!

We happen to be visiting Mt Eden on a Monday and walked by De Post's sign for 1/2 price Mussel Mondays. We didn't think twice about it and quickly found ourselves sitting down with a bunch of locals. We ordered 1kg of mussels each (moules frites actually) and enjoyed every bite of them. My husband had added the curry flavor and I added the white wine and garlic flavor.

The only place I can get my favorite cherry beer is at this spot. I can't wait to grab some more when I return. Another incentive to visit is the ambiance and the cuisine, which are both excellent. See you after level 3 :-)

We went here for my father's birthday. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food is pretty good too. I really like the high selection of different beers they have available, there was even a nice sweet cherry beer that I've never had before. My only complaint is that it took them almost 30 minutes to deliver a second round of drinks. Other than that, really good visit.

Walked in on a Thursday which was their rib special night. Such good value for money! The ribs, chips and slaw were all so yum! Massive portions. I had a sangria which was really nice too. Love their range of beers. We also ordered a dessert each, when one would've been enough since they are so large. Love how fluffy the dessert waffle was. The brownie is very decadent. Service was attentive and it has a very cute atmosphere.

Muscles could've been better otherwise a great time, wine & is normally a 5☆ meal.
