It is very similar structure to the Rome Colosseum. It's big and beautiful place to visit. It's crowded on weekends. There is a chance that the parking place is full especially on weekends. So you will have to park somewhere else in that case. You require a ticket to enter the arena. But honestly, its not at all required. You can see the full insed of the arena from outside for free. You just need to walk up near the backside church and from the fence you get a look of the whole place from inside. So don't buy tickets for inside. You won't see anything special by going in... Its the same view. But the place is very nice to visit with friends and family.

This Is definitely a great place to visit If you like history and romance. You can visit at any time but I suggest winter or spring when is less visitors. I love this place at night when you can admire the arena illuminated by lights. Sometimes they have concerts or other events hosting there.

Great venue to view. We didn't buy tickets to go in but simply walked around it and looked inside. It is just mind-blowing the building is already there for more than 2000 years. Although it was a hot day you have quite some shading here and there and always a nice bar around for some refreshments.

This is the most important place in the city and one of the well preserved roman architecture monuments in the world. Dating back to the second century this monument is absolutely stunning. It is very well preserved, clean and visiting it early in the morning is a nice thing to do

A fascinating attraction to visit – even just from the outside. Tickets to enter the arena, including the underground exhibition, are affordable – but up to the individual if it’s really worth the money. You can see quite a lot from the outside, and the underground exhibition was smaller and less interesting than expected. Audio guides cost extra.

The Colosseum is great but DON'T pay the 10 euro entrance ticket and go inside! There are no explanation panels as far as I could see and audio guide did not seem to be included. You can perfectly well get a very good impression by standing at one of the higher, surrounding gates for free.

Beautiful historical building and great architecture! Well worth giving the history a read on Google. There is the option to visit inside, I'm not sure about the price of the entry fee, as It has already been some time since I was last inside. Not entirely sure if there were bathrooms available. From what I remember it's also pretty central.

Russell Crowe fought here LIKE A BOSS. Also Elton John. Amazing structure that has lasted two millennia.

If you want to see something really beautiful in Pula then Arena is the best part to see. Amazing architecture from some times long ago. You don't need to pay to go in, you can see everything from outside. Ticket prices are about 10€ off season and 25€ over the summer. A bit price but as I said save your money and just go around and you can see everything. 🙂🏺🌥️🇭🇷

Beautiful Roman coloseum in Pula. 4 stars because of parking, imposible to find it around the place, everything full in time of vacation and holidays. Pula town should reconsider to build some parking garages. In addition nice place.

A very interesting site to visit. It also has a small museum (free entry). We visited the Gladiator show, which was very well done with interesting and entertaining facts about the time and the history of gladiator fights in the amphitheater. After the show there were photo opportunities with the athletes and actors. The attention to detail on the costumes was amazing.

Very Well preserved theater, impressive structure that, after roughly 2.000 years still standing. Most Roads in Belgium don't last 10 years nowadays... You can walk around & go inside.

Beautiful piece of human history, a 2000+ years old Roman arena, surprisingly well preserved. There's an entrance fee (90 kn at the moment), but you can simply walk around it and see the inside from every angle. However, if you wish to see it from the inside I'd recommend visiting it during one of various events that are often hosted there (gladiator fights with actors, concerts, etc.), as that's when it most comes alive.

This is a must do visit when in Pula. I suggest audio to be purchased as well as entry however I believe it should be included in the entry fee. It was fascinating to see and no time limit to the visit. The exhibition was very informative and interesting also. Highly recommend!

My wife and I visited Pula and really enjoyed the opportunity to get close to the coliseum! The ruin was an easy walk for the port and transported us back in time! The architecture was impressive...very similar to the coliseum in Rome on a smaller scale.

Great Amphitheater! Interesting to learn about the Roman history. The gladiator show is worth the money. Check it out if you have the time.

A monumental structure preserved from Roman times. Looks impressive. Of course it doesn’t reach the level of the Colosseum, but overall it’s a very majestic and beautiful building.

Such a beautiful and well maintained Coliseum. If you love history and architecture you must see this. You can walk the grounds with ease, as long as you are ok with some stair.

The entrance fee is currently €10 per person. However, it is absolutely worth it. You can experience how it must have felt being a Gladiator standing in this arena fighting these vicious animals. Just amazing!

Visited the arena for the gladiators show, which was btw great, but the organisers from arena are to be polite, disastrous. People jumping the line for entry, no control whatsoever inside the arene. Security doesn't do what they are suppose to do etc. In all... huge disappointment. Making big money with minimum responsibility. Shame!

Impressive structure that is well preserved. Sitting in the stands, you can really get a feel for the scale of the place. We visited in the evening, and the setting sun made for some amazing views of the illuminated cranes in the harbour.

We visited the arena as we were there for a concert by Robbie Williams. The atmosphere, combined with the live event, was more than impressive. This will be a memory I will cherish for a lifetime. The combination of the ancient structure and the sea in the background creates an unusually magical feeling. Your heart remains there among the gladiators.

It was our first time seeing this historical place. We paid €10 each which we thought was a little over priced. It would have been nice to see more written information. The area is a little run down and there is not a lot of parking. If your in the area check it out but I wouldn’t suggest driving to far to see it.

Excellent place to visit. You can just wander around the whole of the outside if you wish without paying to go inside. Worth a visit during the day and night time.

Stunning, including the setting overlooking the harbour. If you get to see an evening event there do so, magical. Arguably better than the Colosseum, less visited/touristy.

I was shocked to tell you the truth how this Pula Arena is so look alike Colosseum in Rome. Beautiful architecture near the sea. I didn’t buy tickets and didn’t enter the Arena itself only went around, believe me it’s great place for like a few million photos. When I was there it was 29 Celsius and clear sky, I wonder how it looks and what atmosphere Pula Arena has when it’s raining or just cloudy weather. For sure Pula is great place to visit for vacation and Pula Arena is just a reminder of how capable was people very long time ago that they built a structure that stands till today. Enjoy you stay in Pula.

It is a great historical place to visit during your city trip. Worth visiting. The view is great. Parking is available at a very low price nearby. There is a very clean and well maintained park nearby to have a nice walk. I would recommend a visit.

The Arena of Pula is beautiful as I expected from the picture. It’s a Roman empires building. You don’t have to go inside the Arena. Really enough to just walk and look around. In summer, there is a gladiator flighting show 2 times in a week. Check in their website

The arena was a true step back in time. Built by the Roman's, it has great architecture. The key to thinking back in time is to sit down for a while in the arena stone seating and envision the events that may have taken place during that time. It's not a place to just walk through quickly. Enjoy the vision.

Great place to visit and walk around in. Plenty of photo opportunities. Probably a few hours to walk around and appreciate the history

Daytime visit: Interesting, but quite far from the experience at Coloseum in Rome. Has a huge potential for a more interesting history based setup! Evening visit / Gladiator show: Exciting, thrilling & fun! Recommended for all ages! Combines story telling, short historical background, real-life gladiator fighting, fire juggling and more... Great show!

Great place to visit, you can buy tickets at the entrance only card or cash but in kuna, not €,$,£ etc. They have a great shop and gallery once you exit the arena. Near it are a lot of pubs and restaurants and a lots of boats that can give you rides in the area

Amazing amphitheater! This is THE best sight in Pula. Bigger then I thought. A must visit. IMHO, visiting it from the inside doesn't worth the entrance fee. Walking around it is for free and absolutely astonishing.

Such a gorgeous amphitheater, in a well preserved state. I came in the afternoon at 3:30 pm on 20th April 2022 so barely any crowd. In Google timing was shown as till 5:00 pm but it was open till 8:00pm. So call and go if you're late. Lots of paid parking close by which are free on holidays. Great view from the Marina side. Multiple entries are possible on the same day as long as you keep the receipt. Clean rest rooms.

Feel the history. Just great to see the theater in such good condition after all these years.

  • 5/5 Anja B. 2 years ago on Google
Gorgeous theatre, though we didn't go inside. We didn't find it necessary because you can see almost everything from the outside. Entrance fee for adults is 70kn, kids and students 35kn (august2021). We simply walked round it which was still great.

  • 3/5 Tanguy R (. 2 years ago on Google
Another place in Croatia where you have to pay (35kn) without any justification. There is nothing, not even panels to explain the amphitheater. I would say, stay outside and take your photos from there, it will be enoug.
