The staff was polite and the food was very nice. This restaurant is set up as the replica of a houseboat (as the name suggests). When we reached there, the rush was a little bit high there and we didn't get a chance to hop on to the driving deck 😁 Opposite to this restaurant, there is a beautiful paddy field full of greenery. We can take photos there. Recommended.

You get the unwinding AC road ambience in the parking and externally. The restaurant is built inside a Vanchi, the architecture is so. It's an air conditioned restaurant. The taste is good but not extraordinary. Rate is quite reasonable for certain items, but not for all. Still we recommend the place for a different ambience.

One of the best restaurants in Kuttanad. The Vanchiveedu aka Houseboat is live to the expectations of a foodie. Its built on the house boat design. The food is very good with sea food items like Varaal, Karimeen pollichathu, Vaala curry, crab roast and many more. The owner Akash came himself and saw us off before showing the live fishes. The restaurant is in the bank of River Pamba and overlooking a paddy field. Overall a scenic restaurant..

One of the finest restaurants in the area and one like no other. The ambience, food, staff and the hospitality is just on a star above. The food is totally done on home recipes and carries a wonderful flavour of local traditions and spice. We had amazing duck and seafood and every dish was absolutely wonderful. Akash handling the restaurant was amazing and warm with all the orders and we had the chance to meet his wonderful family that is behind the operations. Kudos to everyone running the place, for this amazing culinary experience and am sure Vanchiveedu will always be a must go while your in Allapuzha.

Atmosphere is okay but food and service not good..ordered prawns and not cooked well ( less quantity and high rate).some items ordered were not received ( not paid but still they were not able to deliver until we finish meals). Meals curry are very less and not tasty too..Waiters were not able to handle rush.

My experience was a bit of a rollercoaster. The restaurant, claiming to offer authentic Kerala cuisine, left much to be desired in terms of taste and value. The food quality fell short of expectations, with a below-average overall standard and a noticeable absence of the promised authentic Kerala flavors. However, there were a couple of highlights, such as the Crab Roast and Prawns Curry, which managed to salvage the dining experience to some extent. The disappointment escalated when the bill arrived. Despite a few noteworthy dishes, the overall pricing of the menu seemed unjustifiable. Almost everything on the menu appeared to be overpriced, leaving me questioning the value for money. I have attached a copy of the restaurant bill for your reference. Restaurant has potential in certain dishes, the inconsistency in taste, coupled with the high prices, makes it challenging to recommend wholeheartedly. Hopefully, the restaurant can refine its offerings and pricing strategy to better align with the promised authentic Kerala dining experience.
