Highest peak in Central Bolivia. Did this hike/trekking on January 8, 2020. We had great weather at the start. The drive up from Quillacollo is beautiful. Albeit, some spots were rather dicey because they appeared to have recently been flattened (after a mud slide). We had the pleasure of coming across a few herds of Llamas/alpacas/sheep. One herd must have had around 300 llamas, it was rather amazing. We were able to make it close to he second lake. So we only needed to hike for 2km and 400m up. But let me tell ya, that's the toughest shortest hike of my life. There were 8 of us, but only 3 of us made it up. The elevation is such a killer. The reward was worth the gruelling effort though and lucky for us, we made it just in time before the weather turned. If in town and you are able to make it up for a day, then I 100% recommend this hike. But be warned, DO NOT get caught in this area at night. If you happen to stumble in the wrong area at night and see something you're not supposed to, I've been told it will not end good for you.
