This hostel has a soul. The owner is just great. Super helpful, very hospitable and will arrange for you everything you need. He treats his guests as his best friends. Located in a quiet place, in front of the beach. Rooms are more than good for this price. Clean and bed sheets smell nice. Internet works perfectly. There are fans instead of AC, but it's just fine. I've met awesome people there and it was hard to leave such a cool place :)

The best of Hostel by the beach in Alleppey. Thanks to sagar(owner of the place) for setting the vibe and making our stays comfortable and easy by providing us with all the itineraries. Clean rooms and best working space too. Will back soon for this place.

Extremely rude owner, denied accomodation after reaching the property. Location & property condition also was too poor. Vibe around the property is not good, you'll rarely find any people around. Better to book another property at the same price, but not this property at all.

The location is a little walk from some cafes but is directly on the beach. Sagar was a great host who was so helpful in arranging trips out. The room only has basic amenities, overall it was great.

I was planning a solo trip to Kerala, and I decided that I will keep Alleppey as my base, and then visit other places around. I started looking up for places to stay and after doing some research, came across Funky Art Beach House. To be honest, I was fascinated by the name itself, hence checked few reviews and they were great, so decided to book it. Boy oh boy! It was the best decision ever. I connected with the owner Mr.Sagar and asked him to help me out with few details as I was visiting for the first time. He was prompt and gave me all possible details to reach the place. The moment I reached there, I immediately fell in love with place 💚💯 a cozy building right next to the beach, as I entered the first thing I spotted was a couple of hammocks and a comfy seating area in the veranda and some cool beats playing in the background 😍 The Vibes were simply amazing 🤩 From there on, I can only remember the good times I had, from meeting fellow travellers from different countries and continents, to chilling beer 🍻 sessions in the night with UNO games (Sagar loves to play UNO) lip-smacking 😋 banana pan cakes 🥞 that were made by his mom for breakfast, had the bestest time ever. Special mention for Sandhu, his staff memeber who ensured great service and company at all times, can never never get over this trip and the amazing stay I had✨💯

Very nice staff. They help with everything (boat trip, laundry, transport...). Directly next to the beach. Very nice. Rooms are ok as well. It is fair what you get for the price.

At the end of the road in front of the beach. The private room has everything you need and Saga will go high and low to help you out. There is a tent chilling area and a long table where everyone hangs out at night, great vibes, gracias amigo!!!

This hostel is simple but has a great vibe. The owner Sagar brings together good people. Lots of hanging out in the backyard and trading stories with other travelers. Sagar helped us organize a backwater trip for the day we arrived and we were super happy with it. Banana pancakes and coffee for breakfast!

I loved staying at Funky Art. Such a chilled out place where everyone interacts and is welcome. Sagar was a great host. Would definitely stay there again. One of my favourite stays in India 🙏🏻

This place is incredible, from the location to the sheer kindness of the owners. I had a private room on the beach for an amazing price and they would cook breakfast/dinner for us and hang out with us at night time. The owners also helped us book a great river cruise for a good price. I want to return to Alleppey just to chill at this place again as it’s such a cool vibe, 100% recommend.

What a nice place to stay in alleppey! At the “end” of the beach, close to the stream, in a not crowded, quiet and chilled area.. The hostel has nice common areas but above all a very good vibe with Sagar making the honors as a super friendly, helpful and hospitable owner!! Definitely recommend it !!! I just been there one night to hang out if I would come again I would love to stay there. Everything is clean and the owner super friendly and helpful. Really good vibes there highly recommend.

Not the best room I’ve ever seen (no AC, rather small) but the price is more than fair, the owner is very friendly and helpful and the location is amazing. We stayed there for three nights and we loved it. I highly recommend this place !

owner (Sagar) (who was too drunk in afternoon) gave my room to someone else despite pre-booking it online. I had to look out and stay somewhere else. Please avoid this place ,you may also have to suffer . The place is also dirty and location is such that you will not find people around. It is shady.

Pros: 1. Excellent location. Beach is right outside the door 2. Lovely hosts - Sagar & Sandesh, always ready to help 3. Extremely budget friendly 4. Pet friendly. Both our dogs had an amazing time 5. Hammock n the seating area were great 6. Decent sized room with good mattress too. Cons 1. Very tiny n not so clean kitchen. No proper utensils either 2. Except for one li'l kirana store next door, there are no other shops/eateries around. Closest one is 10min walk away. 3. With sand in the compound, it always makes its way into the room. Needs regular brushing to keep the sand away. 4. No hot water in the bathroom but you don't need it anyway given the humidity Overall Great place to stay. Would highly recommend staying there and I'd definitely return if I had to. Just carry your own utensils (we had ours)

Cheap hotel infront of the beach of Alleppey /Alappuzha. The basical things that you will need, a bed, a private bathroom, a fan, wifi and a good area to meet people and share a beer. Sagar the owner helps very much

The host is very friendly and helpful. The hostel has a good location for people who like the beach, as it is exactly on the beach. However, the rooms were not the best. We were sleeping on foam instead of a matress, there was no hot water and the common kitchen was really bad. Also, there was a lot of sand everywhere. Overall, if you are able to get over the quality of the rooms, you will have a splendid time here.
